Riding home from work yesterday I noticed some clicking from my rear wheel and discovered three spokes were broken.

I'm assuming this is a "don't ride it anymore" until I get the wheel fully replaced?

UPDATE: LBS fitted a new wheel (albeit only supporting a 10 speed cassette and not my 11, so they removed a gear) and it's good to ride while I ponder fancy wheels or bike upgrade 😋

Flat tire. Read some reviews but these weren’t highly rated. What kind of tires should I get to replace?

I’ve changed tubed tires before and it was easy enough so I assume it’ll be the same for these?

The holes to mount the derailleur hanger area smaller than the receiving holes, which are also threaded. I’ve been doing this for some time but haven’t come across this yet. Thanks for your help.

Is it normal to have a smaller gap on one side? The bike is a triban grvl 120.

recently converted my 26 inch to a single speed commuter but unsure if the chain is too wide, i bought a specific single speed chain which says 1/2 x 1/8 on the box.

there’s some wobble in the chain causing it too rub slightly on the lower chain tension wheel, any fix or is it simply get a new chain.

im also aware this is not the best tensioner but i am a cheapskate, thank you!

SOLVED! chain was in fact too fat, replaced with a 3/32 much better now, sad too see the white chain go but hey go

I leant the bike on a concrete post and it slid causing the scratch. I have used Muc Off Polish on it a couple of times but it hasn't made much of a difference. I am confident that the carbon is not damaged.

Currently upgrading an older mountain bike of mine. Currently running a 3x8 drivetrain with a square taper bottom bracket. Looking to upgrade it to the Shimano Cues groupset, which seams reasonably priced. Doing this so my wife can get out and ride with me.

Does anyone have experience in swapping out the square taper bottom brackets to a Hollowtech2 which will be needed to fit the new crank set. I believe they’re also know as external bottom brackets? What type of measurements would I need to take to know what’s the correct bottom bracket size to order?

I took the headset apart earlier today to check the bearings as there was a little play. The bearings are ok, it just needed the preload adjusting a little.

I have two questions - one, there appears to be an o-ring underneath the top two spacers. However, this deforms as the pre-load bolt is tightened. I took a photo of the bike before I started to disassemble it. The o-ring was definitely in the same location previously.

Secondly, one of the plastic rings above the bearings in the lower headset appears to have a split in it. It seated back in ok, but I'm not sure if this is by design or whether it's split and needs to be replaced.

The bearings are in races, looked clean and still plenty of grease there. The bike is ~15 years old but hasn't done much mileage. It has mostly been stored in an outhouse for the last few years, before that it was kept indoors.

I've removed the o-ring and tightened the pre-load bolt fine after first loosening the stem bolts. The headset now moves smoothly and freely with no play.

The bike is a Decathlon Rockrider 5.1 C1 2011 model.

Is there a secret trick to seating stubborn tires? Idk if it’s a Schwalbe thing because my last schwalbes also did this but the bead is like stuck together, how do I get it closer to the rim. Compressor won’t even seat it

So for some context, I took off the maxxis tire that u see on the floor and wanted to install the 2.8 tires that is currently on the rim. However, after installing it following a video, I’m having a hard time getting the beading to seat and pop into place when filling with air, both from that standing pump in video and from a handheld electric one. Any advice? The tires were given to me from the previous owner of the bike, and the walls of the tire were kinda pushed inwards a little bit, if that makes any difference. Literally any advice will be very helpful!

I recently got a new bike (for myself) and I wanted to do a tune up on it. I cleaned the cogs back there, changed the chain, changed the cable, all of it.
Here's my setup:
rear derailleur shimano Dura Ace RD 7800 | 11-25T
Front 39-53.

When I came to adjust the rear derailleur, I stumbled on the fact that the B screw doesn't change the height of the derailleur. As you can see on the video, I'm currently on the small gear on the front and big gear on the rear and the B screw is completely unscrewed. As you can see on the video even if I turn the B screw nothing would happen to the derailleur as it doesn't even make contact with it. I'll try to post another video in the comment to show from the other side when the wheel is removed.

I looked on the internet and people talked about the chain length, but I'm not sure it's the problem.
Could it be the spring of the derailleur that is to old and can't do its job right ?

probably have close to 4000 miles on this Canyon Grail. probably half of that on a trainer doing Zwift. for the last couple of months i've had the click you can hear in the video. ideas?

I‘m currently having issues with this rear wheel of my old Trek Domane AL 3 with a Shimano Sora 9s from 2018.

The bike was used on Zwift for the last 3 years without issues. Beforehand the freehub/wheel did not make that sound.

I‘ve disassembled the free hub, cleaned it and put it back together with some grease.

Any siggestions what it might be?

I would like to sell the bike in the near future, but it should be 100% functional and safe…

I just converted my wheels on my new bike to tubeless. The only problem now my front wheel has a wobble. I had a really hard time getting the tyre on the front and did use my tyre lever pretty hard and I’m afraid I might have bent the rim (DT Swiss G540s). I took the tyre off again and re-seated it thinking perhaps the bead hasn’t set correctly around the whole rim but it all looks pretty even. I did in the process doing it again realise I hadn’t put one side of the tyre bead in the centre of the rim which was why it was so hard to put on.

What do you guys think? Is it a take it to a bike shop situation or some easy things to look at first?

I have a suspensionfree bike with 26" wheels.

I find myself often carrying quite heavy loads on the back on all kinds of terrain (even mountain trails when I do backpacking, but ai also daily drive the bike through the city with loads on the back). Thus, I figured I should splurge a little but more for my back tire and go 2.1 victoria mezcal on the back, 2.0 michelin country dry on the front.

I keep however throwing away the back tire every 6 months because by riding in these rough terrains I get side slashes on the back tire.

My question is. Keeping in mind that loading the front is basically out of the question for me (cockpit is already very busy).

Would I get a better experience by going the opposite way? Victoria Mezcal 2.1 on the front and 2.0 cheapo tire on the back?

I’m trying to replace the rear cassette on my specialized turbo Vado sl 4.0. It has a 11speed nx gearing. The old 11-42 was worn and due to not using the lowest gears I ordered a 11-36. But it won’t fit - I cannot get the 11t cog to engage and the locking nut can’t catch the thread of the body. There’s about 1,5 mm difference in height from the two.

I thought 11 speed sram were interchangeable, what am I doing wrong?
