How Would You Grade the Big 12's Scheduling Matrix? - 2 Years In

The Big 12 is entering its 3rd year under the "Scheduling Matrix" proposed upon the finalization of the current 16 teams in the conference. It was highly controversial at the time, sacrificing regionality and rivalries for the sake of exposure across the league.

The perceived benefit was that it would allow all teams to play eachother and potentially develop new rivalries, with all teams playing one another at least once home and away every 4 years.

The primary drawback was the lack of adherence to traditional rivalries. The only protected rivalries were the Holy War, Revivalry, KU vs KSU, and Arizona vs ASU. This effectively eliminated the annual occurrence of more informal rivalries (i.e. TCU and Baylor vs Tech, Farmageddon). This model also forgoes a pod structure, that could lead to more regional annual games, in turn reducing travel costs for schools.

So....entering year 3 would you grade the Big 12's Scheduling Matrix? Or is it potentially still too soon to conclude?
