For me, it'll be Sweet Basil (Vietnamese food)! I love everything from that place! Also, crawfish from Crazy Cajun! They season their crawfish so well! Another place I will miss is Hole in the Wall (Chinese food)! They serve fresh orange chicken with real oranges! That's the freshest Chinese food I've ever tasted! Another place I will miss is Daddio's! I always get the cheddar bacon burger with avocado! Always the best!

I am a new transfer student starting a new major in Computer Drafting Technology this fall 2026. Is this a good major, and does it offer good internship or job opportunities after graduation? Does anyone have experience with this major?

I heard about these clubs in the 19th and 20th centuries where men over 200lbs would get together and hang out. They would have eating contests and give away prizes and it just seemed like a great time.
I want to bring these clubs back, if only for one magical night. How many guys here would be interested in attending a gathering of fat men?

Any recommendations for concrete parking lot repair contractors?

Hey, gang. I started a new comedy YouTube channel where I’ll be going around to local spots and events to experience everything Southeast Texas has to offer.
I just posted my first video today. We went to Buckstin Brewery for their 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. Subscribe and share if you want to see more. I’d also love feedback on how to improve my videos and any suggestions on things to do.

Hello everyone, I just moved here like 3 months ago due to work. I like my job and it’s decent money but I’m a Male 23y/o and I find it kinda boring. I’m currently in Port Arthur with family but soon to move. So can anyone recommend some places (like actual names) for apartment complexes I should look into. I’m very outdoorsy like into sports and hikes so maybe if there’s anyway I can find any clubs or groups please lmk. I’ve looked on Facebook and nothing really comes up. Otherwise I guess I’ll have to make the trips to HOU during weekends to maybe find stuff to do. Thanks y’all!

Hi! As a born and raised SETX-ian? I had a friend send this to me, and I just feel there is more to Bmt than this group saw? To be fair, I left in 2007 and am currently in NYC… but where is Gator town? The world’s 2nd largest fire hydrant? The West? Madison’s? Also, the local BBQ spots? I don’t go out much when I’m able to make it home but what would you suggest to this group to give them a taste of Beaumont? Or, what did they get right? It’s not walkable at all and public transport is abysmal.
Side note, is Richard’s cafe in College st gone? (Again I’ve been gone for 20 years) I just think we were done medium dirty.

I’m a 30 year old dude that never learned how to drive stick and it embarrasses the hell out of me. I have a love of classic cars, and am currently in the market for one, but I don’t want to be limited to only automatics. I will pay cash to cover the time and the gas. Must be able to provide a vehicle and come to me. I’m thinking something like an hour each Saturday until I half get the hang of it and then I will go buy a shitbox stick car to beat around on for a few months. I have a perfect driving record and drive a company vehicle daily, only ticket I have ever had was for doing 5 over. I have a quiet neighborhood for practice with a large parking lot down the road.

Found out some more information from a buddy of mine it is going to be a reoccurring concert series taking place in downtown Beaumont. The promotor intends to record sessions for streaming and there will limited physical media releases. I just got my tickets which comes with free beer. Even a price break for couples and groups. I put the ticket link below for others who want to come check it out.

Im trying to see if there are any of you that would enjoy some house music events in the area. Im thinking Sundays to start. Free of course. Also if there are any DJs/Producers who would also like to play. Im working on building a project here where we can get some traction going on these types of events. I would like to remain in the surrounding area and not have to go to Houston to launch this project. If anyone would like to chime in i would gladly appreciate it. A little about me: I have 20+ years DJing. I also produce and have had years in the event production space. I was starting this back home but moved down here for unrelated work. The area seems void but theres gotta be a few of you out there that would enjoy something like this. Let me know what you think.

I was chatting with a buddy today about an old wings spot near the mall (around 2005) that had stadium seating. Anyone remember the name?

Three Dollar Bet, an upcoming short film set in Southeast Texas and co-directed by Beaumont local Brittney Rodriguez (Red Rocket, Anora) and Pablo Mejia (NYU Grad Student) is seeking background performers. Their previous collaboration, Over the Causeway (2023), screened at the Atlanta Film Festival and won Best Short Film at the Houston Cinema Arts Festival. The film recently received support from the Austin Film Society and will be filming in Beaumont July 6–9.
They're currently looking for extras for a scene that takes place immediately following a pageant competition. They're hoping to cast people who can bring the authenticity, confidence, and excitement of the pageant world to the screen. Participants would wear their own evening gowns.
Background performers will receive $75/day (Pageant contestants are only needed July 6-7).
If anyone in your network is interested in participating, please fill out this form so we can review their information and availability.
If you have any questions or are interested in investing in independent film and helping create an economic impact in Beaumont reach out to [email protected].Â
