I think the BeamNG devs should add an S-Series-inspired compact truck and SUV, similar to the 1994โ2004 Chevy S-10 and 1995โ2005 Chevy Blazer.
These were once brand-new vehicles sitting on dealership showroom floors, and millions of people bought them. Now a lot of them are gone because of rust, accidents, or just old age. It would be cool if people who miss owning one could build something that looks and feels like it in BeamNG.
The truck and SUV also share a lot of parts in real life, like the front end, dashboard, transmissions, and the 4.3L V6, so making them from the same platform would make sense. There could be regular cabs, extended cabs, crew cabs, two-door and four-door SUVs, 2WD and 4WD versions, manuals and automatics, work trucks, off-road builds, and performance versions.
It would also be neat to see an electric version inspired by the 1997โ1998 Chevy S-10 Electric. BeamNG already has good EV physics, so it could be something different.
I know BeamNG uses fictional vehicles, but I think a lookalike based on the S-10 and Blazer would fit the game really well. They're common vehicles that a lot of people remember, and I think they'd be a fun addition.
It would be slotted in between the Ibishu Pigeon and the Gavril D-15, bridging the gap between the two.

PSA before buying "realistic drivers" by u/Bastion80 - JollyKai (beamng) - FideFidex Game Studio (patreon). At least the newer versions have and will have network license checks. It runs a separate .exe when you play beamng, every time. the mod phones the .exe then i assume the .exe phones home. I wouldnt know, I cant run the mod on linux, and im not setting up a VM.
I paid a $9. i though it was cool, and i wanted to use it and see if it was worth recommending. (shout out to jgoose's individual part repair, its an awesome mod. It can be found on patreon for like $4, you get all future updates without subscribing constantly.)
Some things I found after looking around, there are watermark id's in multiple files, maybe hwid but im not sure, the code is at least partially obfuscated (example: local _1I1lOI0lIO = {} -- vehicleId -> { key, name, aggression, speedMult, dynamic, reactive, reactiveConfig, ... }" Variables are random, if you wanted to add a feature or use something in a personal mod, goodluck.)
These are excluded details on the forum page: https://www.beamng.com/threads/realistic-drivers-2-2.110465/
You need to use their website to gain a key, with an email linked to patreon: "-> Ask a redemption code via private message and use the Patreon Email to register on -> license.fide-ch.xyz to unlock your License Key! Start the companion license service, enter your license key and you are ready to go!"
And due to this being license, i imagine that can be revoked at any time for any reason, or if this author goes quiet or shuts down that site.
I dont trust a random .exe running whenever i play, not that i can use it if i wanted to.
The mod might be good, it might not, its not worth the hassle on linux, if you want updates then its $9 a month/update. I do not recommend this mod, based on how the author released and protected it. I do understand why it was guarded like this, they claim 10k leaked downloads. And i know they have every right to release it how they want, Im just giving a heads up.
Extra note: This mod was made heavily with AI, along with their website and other works. "I mean... It's not something you can one shot with a prompt. Still months of work + testing + bug fixing... And coding ai are expensive too. If all this has zero value for you then... Idk... Just don't support the developer."

The models are still in very early stages, and have just been re-topographed. Just a little more refining from here.
PS. the car is basically just a BRZ/FRS/86 plus a WRX.

I'm thinking to buy this game. I have following questions about base game (with no mods):
1) I watched some videos but some objects/trees seem to flicker. Is there any anti-aliasing feature in this game
2) Do vehicle tyres leave tracks / skid marks? Especially on dirt roads.
3) I saw there are some desert maps. Are those sand areas deformable?
And if none of them are available, are developers expected to add them in the future?

What are the mods that you feel are truly missing? This time, modders really need to listen up...
