media Giant fruit bats outside my room

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So I'm sitting in my room here in Bangkok with my laptop on the bed and I keep seeing these shadows moving around outside through my window. I watch for a while realizing they're bats. I Google do fruit bats/flying foxes live within BKK city and sure enough they do. After a few attempts I managed to get one decent capture of them flying around and perching on the tree where they live.

Hey everyone,
I've been living in Bangkok for a few months and might leave soon.
Before I go, I'd like to meet some people here — grab coffee, walk around, explore some interesting places, or just have a good conversation.

I'm from China, interested in startups, business, technology and different cultures.
Feel free to message me if you're also looking for a casual hangout.

tourism This Hidden Bar in Bangkok Has No Sign…

Walked past this place twice before realizing it was actually the bar.

No sign, no obvious entrance. If you don’t already know where it is, chances are you’ll miss it.

It’s called Find The Locker Room in Thonglor. Cool little speakeasy with dim lighting, a cozy vibe, and some seriously good cocktails.

beauty and maintenance Day spa in Bangkok?

I have a 16 hour stop over in Bangkok and was thinking of going to some sort of day spa, sauna, ice bath, steam room, mineral bath situation.

I’d ideally like to get a massage and a bikini wax too.

Any recommendations? Something really really nice, that you would want to relax in for a few hours

event Rajadamnern Stadium - Local betting atmosphere

Hi there!
I will be in Bangkok and thinking of attending a traditional Muay Thai night. I have heard that there are no longer local betters in the stadium as it might be illegal? I really loved the atmosphere the last time I went with the locals betting on the Leo section and I heard that they stopped these. Do you know if they still do that and which are the best nights for it?

tourism touchless (nfc) payment/atm

i plan to visit here for a week soon. i understand many small vendors want cash and there r also vendors that take cc (issued in us). for cash i will bring an atm card. my questions

1) do most/all atm accept nfc (ie apple pay) or do they all insist on physical card (swipe or insert)

2) same question for cc payments. additionally some merchants in us tend to be picky with which apple pay credit card they take (because they want to choose least expensive card for their bottom line) do the merchants there behave the same? specifically i noticed that apple card is most frequently denied when making a big purchase
