Hello, I am the new moderator of /r/BadMusic. This subreddit is now officially open again, with new rules in place.

Please take the time to read and understand the new rules prior to participating here. Posts violating these rules will be removed, and repeat offenders may be banned.

RULES

1. All posts must include the artist and song name in the title

All post titles must be structured as follows (without quotes or brackets):

"[Artist Name] - [Song Title]"

If you don't know the name of the song (e.g. if it's from a TikTok/IG clip) you can take your best guess with the title by using a prominent lyric instead. If a song title includes an offensive slur, please censor it (swearing is OK to post).

Do NOT add any commentary in the title. You can use the text box when you submit if you want to add additional comments on the post.

2. No hate speech, harassment, bullying or incivility

We do not tolerate hate speech, bigotry, harassment, bullying or incivility. Posts that violate this rule will be banned permanently. Remember to treat others with respect, even if you think their music is bad.

3. No playlists or multi-posting

Post one song only, no playlists.

Music must be original by the performer and objectively bad

Music posted here should be original to the performer. So no karaoke, word chewing, lip syncing, etc. While musical taste is subjective, all music posted here must be objectively bad in some way (poor musical ability, abrasive production, lowbrow subject matter, baffling lyrics, etc.) Remember, just because you personally don't like a song doesn't mean it's objectively bad music!

5. Youtube and Reddit hosted videos preferred

We prefer videos to be hosted on YouTube or Reddit. Please avoid linking directly to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, SoundCloud, etc.

6. No reposts within the past year

We want fresh content, not the same songs posted over and over. Do not post anything that has been posted within the past year. Please search for the song prior to posting. Recent reposts will be removed. There are other subreddits if you want to post the same crappy music over and over again.

7. Restrictions on sensitive/explicit content or videos involving minors

Any music that contains sensitive content such as sexually explicit lyrics, violent imagery such as firearms, drug usage, etc. must be marked NSFW. For content involving minors, the song/video must come from an official source such as an official music video (not a random tiktok of a child being cringe). Videos of minors performing sensitive/explicit music are NOT allowed.

8. Do not post obvious parody/satire music here

Don't post any music that is obviously a joke. We want sincerely bad music only.

9. No AI Slop

We want human-created bad music only. This is not the place to share bad AI music.
