Does anyone have experience with Pestray? trying to decide between the spinner and the yard one.
So we've had a pigeon problem on our roof for probably 8 months now. Tried the spikes, tried the fake owl, nothing really worked long term. A neighbor mentioned pestray and I went down a rabbit hole on their site.
They have two outdoor products that caught my eye. The Rooftop Spinner which is solar powered and wind driven. And then the IonAway Yard Guardian which seems more for yard and garden.
My situation is roof pigeons mainly, but we also get raccoons coming through the yard at night which is a separate nightmare.
Has anyone used either of these? Specifically curious:
did the spinner actually keep pigeons off the roof or did they just move to a different spot
how long before you saw results
is the yard guardian worth it for raccoons or is it more of a bird/snake thing
Not trying to spend money on something that ends up being another fake owl situation.

Homemade bird food
Hey! I’m new here, this is my first post..I have some fruit and vegetable scraps, how can I turn them into bird feed? Besides chopping them up into smaller pieces and throwing them outside, I’d like to turn it into something I can do with my kids and make maybe a bird suet or some type with stuff I already have around the house.
I have strawberry tops, watermelon and cantaloupe rinds, shredded carrots and cabbage, blueberries, and blackberries. Any information is greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

Mosquito repellant for yard
Hi, what is the best repellant to use that will keep mosquitos away but won't repell birds. I was using a Skeeter Egg which was lemongrass-based but I noticed my hummingbirds didn't come around when I hung it on my patio. Would this have been the reason? If so, what can I use? Thanks!

What’s wrong with my birds?
I filled my two feeders with the same seed I always use. For some reason they aren’t coming back to the feeders. It’s been 24 hours. I’m thinking it’s the big wind outside but when should I give up, dump the seed and wash the feeders? Is there a solution to use?

Rosebreasted Grossbeak?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Is this the female rose breasted grossbeak? That’s what I thought at first, but the size was bigger and then its wing flapped a bit and I saw a patch of red. Then I thought maybe a female or juvenile red winged blackbird, but I don’t think so, even though the length is more in line with it. Either way, I’ve never had her land on my suet feeder and have only seldom seen the male RB grossbeak on my platform feeder. (Central MA).
