I want to bring an OC to life in doll form, but she has very dark skin and I haven't found anything that comes close except for the Smart Doll cocoa (my last resort) and Granado chocolate (unfortunately the bodies I'd want are all sold out). I'm looking for her to either be 60-65cm so she's not dwarfed by the 70+cm dolls I already have, or 1/6 so I can set her up in her own Barbie house. I'm a newcomer/beginner to BJDs with some limiting health issues, so I'm not able to try dyeing or sculpting my own dolls yet. Are there any other brands/creators who sell skin tones that dark?

Hi guys! Got my first bjd doll month ago (it was already used). Her wig is soft at the top and in the middle, but the ends are tangled. I don't want to cut it. Should I wash the wig to soften the hair or do a special brushing? Note to you: I live in a very remote country so I won't be able to get special care products for doll wigs. Therefore, it would be desirable for restoration methods to be available even for me.

One of my dolls and I, and possibly some friends, will be in Indianapolis next week for GenCon. If anyone is interested in a doll meetup, we are looking at High Velocity, inside the JW Marriott, Sunday at 5pm. If you can make it please leave an RSVP on this post by EOD tomorrow (Thursday July 23). If there is enough interest I will make a reservation.

Today I finally finished my first 3D printed BJD. The sculpt is Eden by Morpingon, I bought the files on Etsy.
His name is Khaem, I don’t have a wig and outfit for him yet but I might sew something myself.
The body is very posable its really fun. I recommend the sculpt for anyone with a printer

I wanna make the collar and end of the sleeves red. And I wanna make her a little broom.
I think it looks good even through I took many liberties since I am not good at making clothes.
The shoes are socks with some red air dry clay glued on.

Just a reminder if you are going to Otakon to come on out and join us in doll activities! The more that show the merrier! If we can show that there are people interested to fill the activities, the more likely we can continue to have a dedicated space for us and our hobby at Otakon.
So remember to bring your doll and join us :D!

Let's talk.
has anyone felt this way as well ?
Doll is a - teeny tinkers hollow in tan skin
So I recently got a grell doll of mine and I've had her for like 4 months now and it's like all the joy and love I had to her has vanished,I've been working a lot more and haven't really been active with my dolls but when I do have the time I literally pay attention to every other doll but them and now I feel bad(。ŏ﹏ŏ)
it's not like I hate her but she's fr just there collecting dust idk
I just wanna know if anyone else has ever just bought a doll and then didn't really want it {I do want her I swear idk what's wrong with me}
And sorry no photo I'm at the office (●__●)

This is my first time trying an faceup myself and I’m very very scared of eyebrows and lashes
For the eyebrows I thought first I will use some brown pastel and make a shadow and then draw the hairs with a brown pencil
But I wonder what’s better, pencil or fine brush and acrylic paint? Cuz acrylics really scare me.
Same question for the lashes
Help
The sculpt is Eden by morphingon
I bought he the files on Etsy and 3D printed them myself

Has anyone put an imomodoll head on an Obitsu body? I have a 50cm boy Obitsu, and I can't decide what head to get. I like the Imomodoll Mie head for him, but I'm wondering if it'll fit. If anyone's done this, please let me know. T.I.A!

I wanted some old fashioned swimwear for an old fashioned fox! This is my first time drafting an outfit like this and I'm not much of a sewer, happy with how it turned out!

For about 4-5 months I've been having issues with my prototype BJD Logia, a 12-inch Doll that's my second attempt with doing a jointed Doll (the first one was Big Bubby, but it doesn't completely count due to issues with the joints in the arms). The main issue stems from the limbs, as the head, torso, chest, hands, and feet all print fine and pretty solid all things considering with no issues.
The limbs however keep having the same issues. When making the holes for the strings to go through and then printing them, they cure fine and even clean up fine but within a few months (the shortest time being two months with the Luo Binghe BJD basically melting and eating through the pleather and damaging the pants) the prints proceed to melt. I have tried adding drain holes, making the prints stronger by solidifying them, using different slicer programs with different settings but the results seem to stay the same.
I'm in the process of fixing/updating the 3D model right now because I want to make more hands that actually look good and fix the issue with standing and the eye sockets being too small and deep, but I need advice from those who may have had similar issues when it comes to printing their dolls. Even if it's advice on how to properly add supports inside of the model because I am a bit at my wit's end.

I’m thinking of it being 70-75cm, im a fashion student who wants to start making clothes for my BJDS (which i use as mini models) and yosd i feel like will be a pain in the arse to make clothes for and I don’t like msd or SD
Anyone know any companies that make muscular female bjd bodies?
I got an idea.
may or may not happen after I get the BJDS i actually really want.
Also will need head recommendations just incase also the budget will be £500 MAX
EDIT 1: i moved the paragraph about the size I’m looking for from the bottom to the top.
EDIT 2 : no blind boxes please. the idea of them stresses me out because i need to know what is in the box that I’m buying and if I get the wrong thing and have to keep buying until I get the correct one it will bring clutter which stresses me out and it’s a waste of money when i can just get what I want in the first place.
EDIT 3: no unsolicited commissions, i looking for a company/artist that already makes them i don’t want to commission one specially as last time im pretty sure I nearly got scammed.

Hello everyone, longtime lurker and lover of BJDs here. I’ve decided to challenge myself by making a plastic free doll — porcelain, mohair, china paints, the works. I pretty much have it all planned out, the only thing I am struggling with is the wig.
Doing research for this doll, I realised just how many things contain plastic, and one of those things is glue. As far as I know, PVA glue is the standard for doll wigs as other animal based glues are too brittle. Theres the option of a sewn wig with hand stitched wefts, but you need to use a stretch fabric like nylon and elastic for the wig cap, which contains plastic. I was thinking of making a tiny drawstring in place of the elastic but pulling it taught may warp the wig. Does anyone have any ideas? Anything helps! Thank you so much.

Im curious if anyone has ever made a clear resin or translucent resin bjd that has some sort of Face-up and 3d eyes. Im afraid you would see all the putty and inner workings which could be cool. If you have examples id love to see. If not ill have to try for myself
