I’m going to attending BCIT in September for project management. If anyone has taken some of the required courses I would appreciate some insight on what to expect. I’m looking for to find out which courses are the most valuable in terms of actually learning stuff and what are the rough ages of people who are in these classes. I’ll most likely be going part time.

I am thinking of taking the HR diploma progam as I recently just lost my job (company closed its doors I wasn't terminated). I worked in the film & tv industry + graduated from bcits broadcast communications program 15 years ago and main reason why I am thinking of changing career paths is due to the looming threat of AI being trained to do these jobs (I worked in post).

I know I am at a disadvantage as I am in my 40s but I thought HR might be an industry that will always have demand even with AI around.

Are the job prospects of being hired on completion good?

I know its a little embarrassing as a 40+ year old to go back to school but I think its my only move

Hello, I am interested in a part-time course here at BCIT! I was just wondering how this department request approval works, as there is an attachment portion and I have no clue what I'm supposed to attach there – is that like a letter of intent of some sort?

I'm starting to get more into the emo/alternative scene and was wondering if there are any clubs, events, or places at BCIT where people with that vibe tend to hang out? Or is it mostly just random chance? Thanks :>

Hello, I was wondering how long it took for bcit to give the full acceptance letter after the criminal record check cleared? This is for those in healthcare programs.

We are looking for help implementing some Ai systems and tools into our team.

I am hoping to get into the Winter 2027 intake of the nursing program and I was wondering if BCIT housing is the cheapest option, or if I should try to find cheaper alternatives around the area. I was hoping to get the cheapest option (townhouse) as I would rather not commute and compared to some of the prices I have seen for housing options in Burnaby can be quite expensive so the estimated $4298.65 doesn't seem too bad in contrast. So, my questions are as follows:

- Is BCIT Townhouse Rooming the cheapest housing option (compared to renting outside of the campus), and if not, where can I look for cheaper alternatives?

- Would I get my own room in the Townhouse option, and how is the living situation there? (eg. crowded, dirty, etc.)

Hi guys, I applied for this program as a second year transfer but I realized that I don't have post Secondary English credits according to the requirement. For context, I did biotech before I transferred, which is why I mostly take sciences and a few socials and math. Back then I didn't do the breadth requirements all at once because I want to spread it out to have an even work load which is why I haven't taken English yet. However, I do have some ethics (Biomedical ethics), and social studies (introduction to international development studies, business management..) courses that are writing intensive, is it possible for me to put that instead?

I am actually attending school after 15 years and currently in my 40s. BHSC 1200 is my BSN pre-req and I am assuming I will have to get at least Grade A or A- in the course. I was also able to find solid reviews for Profs Cindy and Bassam. However, mine is Kaitlin Marshall. And I am really stressing out, because failing my very 1st course is gonna be a big let-down. And I might just end up dropping my dreams along with the course. Does anyone possibly have any experience with Kaitlin Marshall???? It would be a great help!!!!!

I’m currently in Canada on a valid Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) that’s valid until 2028. I’ve been admitted to a full-time BCIT BBA program that starts on September 8, and I’m applying for a new study permit from inside Canada.

A few details:

Applying from inside Canada
Valid PGWP until 2028
Valid biometrics (already on file)
Medical exam not needed

Submitted the study permit application on July 10.
I’m wondering if anyone has recently been in a similar situation.
How long did your in-Canada study permit take to be approved?
Were you switching from a PGWP back to a study permit, or just extending an existing study permit?
Did you receive a decision before your program started?
If your permit was still processing when classes began, what happened? Did your school allow a late arrival or require a deferral?

I’d really appreciate hearing about your timelines and experiences, especially if this happened in 2026.

Hey guys, I had a quick question regarding the requirements for getting into UBC JD program.

I know I need an undergraduate from a recognized post secondary, and that it can be from any field. However, I was wondering if BCIT counts in this, as some people have told me not to do a degree from BCIT if I plan to continue my education.

For BCIT, I'm either looking at the MRI bachelor option or the branching to TRU for the BHSC.

I would really appreciate if anybody has any insights on this.

Has anyone got into the BBA part time with one of the 5 core courses being lower? I got a 61% in stats and it said you need a 65%. Will I have to retake it? All the other core courses I have a 70% and over in

Im currently making around 4k cad a month from my businesses with high upside over the next two years and I am incredible torn as to whether or not i should go into the marketing management diploma i am accepted and I need to pay tuition ASAP but their is a massive part of me that would rather just work on my business over the next two years. I know nothing is guaranteed but also high risk high reward and I know I never want to be an employee ever so its hard to decide what are your thoughts.

Parents are pushing heavily for me to go to school and do not understand where im coming from whatsoever so it makes my decision 10 times harder but quite frankly I am just lost and feel like both options are good but afraid to make the wrong decision.

I need some help from people who have done it and whether or not its feasible to work for myself while in school? please let me know
