My review for Avatar Legends. This is from the lens of someone who loves Avatar but isn’t great at fighting games. I think (I HOPE) this is a valuable perspective for those in my shoes who love the IP but are intimidated by fighting games.

new to the sub but im hyped to play the game and I've already read interesting posts on here:)

The movie releases the 25th on Paramount Plus. We need to pay special attention to the Avatar panel at SDCC. Do you think they could be onto something movie related?

I've been following this game since this announcement and Im of two minds on it as its launch grows closer.

On one hand, I love avatar. I love this games 2D style, and I love that its 30 dollars.

On the other hand, despite my love for the genre, I am generally not good at fighting game(took about a little over a year to get to silver in sf6 playing it on and off). And watching the reviews talk about high skill ceilings and crazy combos kinda scares me off.

I missed out on all of the betas, so I wanted to asked how the game felt from people that bounced around my skill level. Like how well do basic light-medium-heavy-specials feel. Just to check if I should give it a shot or take my soft ass back to the marvel tokon waiting room.

I guess both have they pros and cons and its somewhat personal preference but I would be down for both so I'm just wondering what would be the best to try and get muscle memory with.

Is there a dedicated grappler in this game?

The game looks amazing from what I have seen!

Personally I love to play grapplers and wanted to ask if there was one in this game?

If there is or are multiple, what kinds of grapplers are they? i.e. slow big body, speedy chain/combo grappler, footsies grappler etc
