Feminism made me a better man. It led me out of some bullshit views and behaviors. It also led me to socialism and philosophy. But it's also a code of conduct in many ways, and like anyone on the spectrum, I struggle with such a thing because the rules are not written out (and in the case of feminism, they arguably couldn't be). So I stress a lot, because I'm already not a particularly effective feminist, and I don't want to be an incoherent one.

This morning, there was a brief meeting at my work. The announcement was that my manager was one of two people who had just been let go; he was one of the very small handful of managers who had my back when it came to asking for accommodations. He also encouraged me to pick up my performance, especially as we’re considered “owners” getting commissions based on performance. We’re not salesmen by any means, far from it; my firm, which I have been working for over three years now, deals in government procurement and contracts.

The news was quite shocking, to be honest. I briefly mentioned it to my supervisor when we had our weekly shadowing session one hour later; he said that we should just keep on doing our tasks. The over 30 minutes or so between meetings had me in a state of despair and uncertainty if and when I would be due for the chopping block, and **then** what next? It was nothing short of a miracle I was still able to focus on the task at hand…

I apologize if this has gone on and on, but here’s the crux of the issue: part of me thinks AI had some part to play here. How do I get involved in freeing my people from the chains of capitalism?

hi all! i’m unable to work and have been talking with a lawyer to explore the possibility of applying for SSA/SSDA. there are obvious pros as well as a lot of cons, and one of them is that i feel like i don’t have a good sense of how much of a risk it would be under the current federal administration. i’ve seen a lot of people concerned about it but i don’t know whether it’s overblown. this ember green video about rfk jr’s interagency autism coordinating committee definitely freaked me out a bit. what are your thoughts? does anyone have resources concerning this question?
