ISO Cheapest Apartments in Austin

Please can anyone give me some advice or recommendations?

I’ve got bad credit and a misdemeanor assault from like 7 years ago, no evictions though.

I’m new to Austin and I’m not picky at all. It could be a studio in a seedy area with no amenities I don’t care. I just can’t continue to stay where I am currently it’s not a safe place for me. So please only legitimate non judgmental advice.

ISO Searching for wheelchair friendly room/share under $1000

I can still walk with a cane or walker and am optimistic I won't need the chair in another year or so. I'm currently downsizing after selling my business and would like to find a comfortable space to share that allows for use of my chair when needed. I also have one very friendly medium size dog. She's very sweet and never barks. Willing to pay more for the right space. Must be inside Travis County. Excellent references with good credit and no criminal background. I also have tons of tools and can fix anything. Please DM. Thanks!

ISO Apartment review

Considering to move to Cedar park or Leander, Tx. We were considering the below apartments (1*1):

  1. The Alden at cedar park
  2. Park at crystal falls
  3. The view at cedar park

The cedar park ones are little expensive and come with a smaller sq ft. The park at crystal falls has great reviews (wondering if it’s actually true). Anyone who lives or knows about these apartments can you share your experience ? Any other apartments suggestions in these neighborhoods also appreciated.

Hi! I wanted to know what was everyone’s experiences trying to sublease their unit on West Campus, I just recently went through this and it was honestly the worst experience ever and I just wanted to see if people have dealt with that before.

ISO What's it like living in a 2 or 3 house lot?

Austin seems full of these 2, or sometimes 3, houses built on the same lot usually one in front one further back. If you live in one of them, what's that like? Are there HOA fees? How does ownership work (for condos it is usually based on % sq feet, but these houses are usually one bigger, one smaller)? Besides being a little more affordable, are there other pro's or con's?

*I'm required to add flair, but while I'm looking for a house, this post is not about any specific property or solicitation of a property.

Room Available RENT! ENTIRE WEST CAMPUS COTTAGE AVAILABLE 8/1/26

This 2 bed 2 bath cottage is just 6 blocks from the UT campus, making it a great spot for students or anyone who works downtown. Available August 1st 2026, the rent is $2,350 total per month, or just $1,175 per resident plus utilities. The price may seem high, but the private driveway alone makes it price competitive with almost any west campus pad.

The house has its own private driveway with plenty of room for two cars. There's also a small backyard with a table and chairs for chilling outside. Bedroom A is downstairs with a spacious closet, room for a queen sized bed, and attached bath with a tub shower.
Bedroom B is a loft with no door, but the layout affords for plenty of privacy and room for a full size bed. It has its own bathroom, complete with a window and a standing shower.

Washer/dryer are in an attached shed and in perfect condition. Kitchen appliances, heating/cooling, and garbage disposal are all in great working order, and the microwave is brand new. The house comes unfurnished, but the Facebook marketplace scene in Austin is great for affordable options. Almost every piece of furniture you see in the photos is second hand!

The landlord, Tom, is as good as they come. He's responded to our requests with more urgency than any apartment maintenance team I've encountered, although we've had very few issues with the house

I’m attaching more pictures in the comments if I’m able. Reach out to me if you’re interested, and I’ll put you in contact with the landlord!

ISO Looking for apartment near ACC Highland Campus

Hello! My friend and I are both looking to relocate to Austin together. My friend has lived in Austin before, but I have not. I’m looking for a 2 bedroom 1 bath apartment within reasonable distance (walking or public transit, maybe driving) from the campus. We are bringing a cat with us.

We have been searching throughout the Highland, Hyde Park, Windsor Park, and Crestview areas. I understand that absolute safety is not a realistic wish in Austin, but I am hoping for somewhere that won’t leave us in constant paranoia and concern.

Currently, our budget is set at $1,200/m. It’s mildly flexible, but without knowing exactly what sort of wages we’ll be making once we secure jobs, it’s been a bit difficult to properly plan a budget around uncertain variables. I am aiming to work full-time, while my friend aims to work part time alongside schooling. I’m just hoping someone who lives/lived in the area can offer insight into what to look for, what to avoid, etc.

ISO Looking for a 1 bedroom

Hello Austinites,

Looking for a 1 bedroom apartment in the following locations:
Hyde Park
North Loop
Govalle/East Austin
Bouldin Creek
Possibly Riverside.

Budget is max 1400 a month. Ideally would like to find an in-laws suite behind a house or something like that, but am open to any other possibilities.

Can they just make regular apartments again instead of these luxury monstrosities that us common folk don't need?

ISO Need Help!!

Need help. My son and I are supposed to move down next week. We had an apartment at Bexley at Tech Ridge. We’re supposed to move down next week. Just got an email that the apartment will not be ready because the tenants just moved out yesterday and there is too much work to do. They will have another apartment ready by August 7th but that gives us 2 weeks of no place to stay. He will be playing for Austin fc academy so I need to be as close as possible to st David’s performance center. Any recommendations? We need a 3 bedroom! Please help!

ISO Looking for affordable apartments or female roommates

Hi! I’m an incoming freshman at UT Austin and I’m looking for really cheap off campus housing or anyone looking for a roommate.
I was originally planning to get an apartment with two friends from high school, but they recently backed out, so now I’m trying to figure out my housing situation before the semester starts.
I’m hoping to find something budget-friendly,and if anyone has apartment recommendations or knows of someone looking for a female roommate, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks!
Honestly my budget is just less than 800 if possible. Preferably like around 600

Room Available 1 br 1 bath condo for rent, $1250

Hello. I am a private landlord and have my old place on William Cannon and Westgate up for rent. It’s a 1 bed 1 bath on the 2nd floor overlooking a wooded courtyard. Behind the complex is a large empty lot for your community gardening or lounging needs. Theres an onsite pool and within walking distance of Planet Fitness, Dollar General, and 2 miles away from Sprouts, Costco, Golds Gym, HEB, and all the stores in Sunset Valley. There is also a protected wooded area with thousands of acres and miles of walking trails directly behind the complex. I can waive the pet deposit for dogs under 20 lbs. If you have poor credit or rental history, I may be able to work with you. Flexible on lease term dates. In unit washer and dryer. Google fiber installed. Steps away from a convenient store and a bus stop. Most of the complex is owner occupied. Last tenant rented from me for 6 years. Water and trash is included in the monthly rent. You just have to pay the electricity and internet.

ISO Looking for Studio or 1bd Apartment in North Central ATX

I am looking to move into a studio or 1 bedroom apartment that can accommodate a full sized electric wheelchair. Prefer private owner and open to unique spaces. I have excellent references and one very well behaved medium sized dog. Looking for under $1500 north of downtown anywhere in Travis county.

I'm a designer/developer in my 40s with good credit, references and proof of income.
