MTA alert Delays on the N/W
Someone passed away on the train and it’s parked at Broadway until the paramedics and police can do their thing. Express trains are bypassing Broadway, 36th, and 39th so you need to go up to Astoria Blvd to go cross-platform Manhattan bound
UPDATE: It's NOT cross-platform you have to go to the Manhattan side

Question Does anyone know what’s going into the old Fresco’s Cantina spot on 31st?
There’s a heart mural on the awning and it looked like they were working on the outside today. Curious if anyone knows what’s going into the spot

Other If you park by 28th ave and 23rd street, move your cars!
these signs just went up for TOMORROW. They are tearing up the street to repave. I know many people don't check on their cars for a few days and many hospital employees park here so be aware so you don't get towed.

Rant Weirdest confrontation from a Karen on crescent today
Every Tuesday I help a woman who collects bottles, transport what she collects to a certain destination she asks me to. She’s my neighbor and saw I have a pickup truck and asked me to help her. It’s a convenient time for me and I like to help my neighbors when I can so I help her every Tuesday. The favor is simply to utilize my pickup truck because of the space.
Some Karen likely over 55+ walking her dog decided my favor doesn’t go far enough. She walks up to me and says “you’re going to just sit in your car while she does all the work”. I simply say “maam I’m just doing a favor for my neighbor who wanted to use my truck”. She said “you’re not a man”. It’s not an issue and there’s weird people in this world, but like damn. People like that Karen make people not want to do simple favors.

Seeking Recommendation: Other Sound bath/aromatherapy mix?
Hi all! I moved to the neighborhood last week and would love to find a reasonably priced place that does either gentle yoga/meditation with some kind of combination of a sound bath or aromatherapy or both (even if it’s just for a segment of a session.) I’m still chasing the feeling of the classes I used to go to at Drip Sweat where you’d do yoga but they’d also bring around a singing bowl and the room smelled amazing. I don’t even know if it was incense or some other type of aromatherapy, but it was memorably calming. So far, in the neighborhood I’ve only been to Yoga Agora vinyasa classes on Fridays, and while I enjoy them and are great for when I want to do vinyasa, they’re missing that soundbath and calming scent atmosphere I’m looking for. Any suggestions would be so appreciated! 💜

News Fake check scam on Ditmars
Was walking near Ditmars and 31st today and saw someone trying to pull off a fake check scam.
A black man in a mask and dark clothing, approx. 30 years old, came up to me twice trying to get me to cash a check for him. He handed me $100 in cash and pushed me to accept it. He said he couldn’t cash the check into his account because of a “child support hold” or something (lol).
I obviously declined, but I saw him trying to get several people in the area to accept.
This happened on Ditmars between the McDonald’s and Starbucks.
I should’ve called the police, but I was so confused by what he was trying to do until I finally googled it when I got home. Makes total sense now.

Lost/Found: Other Stolen Keys
Hello,
My car was broken into in LIC (close to the Vernon/Jackson station), and among the items stolen was a pouch full of keys. If anyone has seen it or comes across it on the street, please let me know.

Question Local fishing spots?
I doubt the east river is an ideal spot for safe fish, unless it is. However, anyone in astoria knows of convenient spots in the neighboring boroughs(not Staten Island) for good fishing spots. I have a spinning reel I really wanna try out.
