Is it weird that as a Hungarian I want to study in Romania?

Hi everyone!

I'm a 20 year old guy from Hungary, living close to the Romanian border

Over the last few years I've fallen in love with Romania, its culture, landscapes and the kindness I've experienced from people live there

I know that, because of our shared history, some people might find it unusual that a Hungarian wants to study in Romania. That's why I'm curious what Romanians think about it

I'm currently learning Romanian because I want to communicate with people in their own language. It's still difficult, but I'm really enjoying the process, I speak poor A2

If everything goes according to plan, next year I'll be studying Computer Engineering at Sapientia Hungarian University of Transylvania in Târgu Mureș

I know this university isn't romanian but my plan is work in there so I will be surrounded by Romanians

I honestly wish people focused more on getting to know each other instead of arguing over history. I'd much rather make Romanian friends than argue about the past

Do you have any advice for someone moving to Târgu Mureș? What should I know before coming?

I was before in Oradea (100x) , Cluj, Bistrita si Gheorgheni

Last question: am i crazy?

How do I get civil status documents from Alba (Transylvania region)? Asking for immigration lawyer/geneology recommendations.

I need to get a birth certificate, from relative(s) born in 1889 from Șard, Alba, to apply for Hungarian citizenship.

I'm asking to see if anyone has any recommendations for someone who can get these documents for me and ideally notorize them. I'm seeing a lot of people who can in Bucharest but not closer to Alba and I'm not sure if that is an issue or not. I'm sorry i'm very ignorant of the Romanian system for these things besides that it is more localized archives rather than national.

Sadly I live in the US and don't know Romanian. I qualify for Hungarian citizenship but not Romanian. Attempting to learn the language to a conversational level to fly and get these documents is not completely out of the question but very unideal. My timeframe to trying to leave the US in around 2 years.

Any advice, recommendations, or nuances to navigating the process would be really appreciated. All of my family's documentation before my grandfather was sadly burned in a house fire.

Looking for small independent PV/BESS development firms in Romania: who's actually out there?

I work in utility-scale solar and storage development in Southern Europe and we're doing early market research on Romania.

What I'm trying to find isn't the big names: Enery, Korkia, Renalfa, R.Power etc. are all well documented. I'm looking for the tier below that: small independent development firms, often a handful of engineers, who handle site origination, permitting, ATR applications and technical studies. In Italy the equivalent would be a two- or three-person engineering practice that does the ground-level work for larger platforms and never appears in the trade press.

Specifically curious about:

  • Firms doing greenfield origination and permitting on a services basis rather than developing on their own balance sheet
  • Anyone with a track record of getting ATRs through Transelectrica for standalone BESS or co-located hybrid
  • How the local market typically structures developer relationships - services contract, carried interest, sale at a defined milestone?
  • Whether the ANRE guarantee changes are visibly squeezing smaller developers

Happy to hear about consultancies and technical advisors too, not just developers. Not selling anything and not recruiting, just trying to build an accurate picture of who does what before we go further.

If you'd rather not post a name publicly, a DM is fine.
