I'm an independent artist and recently started a monthly postcard club.

Each month, subscribers receive a surprise postcard featuring one of my artworks. Every card is printed by me at home on premium cardstock, hand-signed, embossed, packed by hand, and shipped worldwide.

The subscription costs €7.90 per month with free worldwide shipping.

I only have a few subscribers so far, and honestly, it's been harder than I expected. Part of me worries that the price might be too high, but after printing, packaging, shipping, and fees, there isn't much left.

I'd really appreciate some honest feedback:

Does €7.90 sound reasonable for a collectible artist postcard like this, or would you consider it too expensive?

For context, these aren't mass-produced cards from a print-on-demand company. I make and ship them myself, and each monthly design is only available for that month.

Desire to Sin

In Desire to Sin, the canvas becomes a battleground of light and shadow, heaven and hell. At the top, a fiery eruption of desire blazes through the clouds, pulling souls downward with its golden, tempting lure. Below, the serene whites of heaven dissolve into the stormy blues and blacks of chaos. The once-stable cloud realm of purity fractures as desire breaks through, dragging figures toward the infernal blaze above. A faint rainbow, almost lost in the turmoil, hints at hope, now fading. This piece explores the fragility of virtue when desire overtakes reason, illustrating the eternal conflict between spiritual elevation and carnal temptation.

Hey! My friend (who is a great fashion design student btw) is looking to buy a Lolita dress for a total of 80 bucks.

She said she could draw for small amounts of money so I’m counting on the fellow artists to chip in to get her that dream dress.

From what I know she’s good at drawing;
coords in Lolita fashion, general fashion design, cartoon characters, anime style characters and possibly more.

I’m not in the Lolita sub-culture but from what she always talks about, it’s a big deal to make coords and wear these very pretty dresses.

I wanted to get some Feedback on this painting I did last week. I had a blast doing it, was immersed the whole day:)

Thoughts on wanting compliments:

Sometimes im conflicted on why I post or share my art. Do I do it just for gaining approval of others? My response is usually no I just like to share my art and be part of a community; I love seeing other peoples art so me sharing it is just being involved in that loop. But if I get four likes and one is my mom and another is me, why does it feel so bad? I shared this piece with my friends and I got asked what it was supposed to be and then memes or jokes. It’s fine but I think it made this feeling worse.

Anyway life is all about growing and I’m always working on this aspect of how I interact with art. Focusing on self value and the joy I feel from creating not from what I perceive as worldly approval.

Unsure why I decided to share this, I don’t usually use Reddit but it was on my mind tonight!

When I first saw this piece I thought that it was a calligraphy piece and not a hand embroidery piece. I was blown away!

Zen Life is a Chinese silk embroidery artwork from the Baisha Naxi Embroidery Institute (丽江白沙纳西刺绣院) in Lijiang, Yunnan, China. Hand stitched by Grand Master Mo Meiyan. Only two copies exist.

About the Baisha Naxi Embroidery Institute:

• The Baisha area of Lijiang is home to the Naxi ethnic minority, who have a long tradition of silk embroidery.
• The Institute was founded to preserve and revitalize traditional Naxi embroidery techniques, some of which date back centuries.
• Their works are often mistaken for paintings at first glance because of the incredibly fine, layered stitches that mimic brushstrokes.
• The Baisha Naxi Embroidery Institute also acts as a free school to help teach embroidery skills to women to allow them to help provide additional income for themselves and their families.

• Ultra-fine silk thread is split into strands sometimes thinner than a human hair.
• Artists use these to produce shading, detail, and depth that look like watercolor or ink painting.

I recently completed this large lotus pond mural inspired by the calm beauty of wetlands. The composition features blooming lotus flowers, broad leaves, and colorful water birds to create a peaceful natural scene.
