And what a wonderful reminder it is of what a great week that was back in April, the culmination of all that work and prep.

I felt so connected with the world through that shared experience.

I had the livestream on in the background pretty much all day, stayed up super late on work nights to watch the critical parts of the mission.

Got super emotional watching Earth roll back into view as they approached.

RISE was in so many of the shots just floating around, doing it's thing, it's so nice to have one sat on my desk now.

One thing I have noticed, the UK isn't on the continents map of it's cap, strangely.

Shoutout to Lucas Ye, the 8 year old kid who won the design competition for this. How lovely it must be to have his design ending up as something that will sit in thousands of homes across the world.

I placed an order in the nasa exchange store May 2nd and it's still not here 😢

No shipping notification either and I didn't get a response to my email to customer service. The original order info says expected by July 2. (I'm in Canada)

Gotta vent here everyone.

So today tickets were supposed to go on sale for event at Red Rocks, where the Artemis II crew would be there and all. I originally wasn't going to go as it was during the work day, but then realized I could make it work.

I went and set an alarm on my phone so I wouldn't forget.

Next thing you know, I look at the clock and realized it's almost 1:30, tickets went on sale on 12:00. I panic, try to access the tickets link and I keep getting the session expired link error, which I came to learn, all the tickets are gone.

I am pissed, my phone's alarm never went off (I set it because I worried I'd forget, and I sure did, getting occupied with work).

What sucks more is there's probably no more tickets available (they may release later), as they were only $1, cause they had to charge something for the ticket platform (it was completely sponsored, parking and all). Not going to see people refunding tickets for that

I've literally been looking EVERYWHERE for it. The person who made the edit said "BBC" but I've been digging and nothing.

I fell in love with the Artemis program (unfortunately as Artemis II was ramping up, but that's neither here nor there). I've wanted to get this watch for a LONG time, simply because it LOOKS nerdy and technical which is right up my alley. I couldn't think of a better way to customize my watch other than getting a constant reminder of our new age space race and the great work they're doing at NASA.

Wanted to share some pics of my home office decor.

Lego model is the centerpiece of my wall of mostly Legos. I also recently learned that Topps Now made cards for the launch. There are 3 variations of the card. I have the base card and for the “Short Print” card in the mail today from eBay (the card with the 2 flags). The 3rd variation is a picture the crew took from space.

I'm going as Victor Glover, the first African-American to go to the Moon! Not the most accurate depiction, but very good considering my budget!

Former NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine expresses the view the SpaceX approach of multiple refueling is unlikely to allow the U.S. to beat China back to the Moon. All the recent NASA administrators have been unhappy with the SpaceX plan except for Bill Nelson, who can’t criticize it since he was in charge when it was selected.

It should be noted that Starship at twice Saturn V’s size in payload as reusable or 3 times larger as expendable could do the lander mission in a single flight, no refuelings needed at all, if using a smaller 3rd stage to the actual lander.
