After a lot of back and forth with a few sellers I finally was able to snag my second cabinet. I'm pumped that it is the Street Fighter Legacy cabinet because I love a good game of 1944 and Ghouls and Ghosts.

This was a whole journey for this month - But I finished.

Summary: I’m early Gen Z, to which arcades don’t have too much appeal for our generation like Millenials (we’re probably the cutoff) but for the past few years I’ve been really into arcades, I got into them starting with going to Barcade in New York City and fell in love with the NBA Jam, Galaga, Crazy Taxi, Daytona USA, Crystal Castles, MK2, TMNT Cabinets and of course good old Donkey Kong and Pac-Man. Now that I have my own place and i’m also obsessed with interior design I wanted to get a cabinet and mod it! Even if i’m not playing it often, it’s a great conversational piece/accessory to my bachelor pad.

All in all, setup is relatively easy assuming you do research and binge videos of modding. Half the time during assembly I even wasn’t watching tutorial videos because it was so straightforward. Board assembly is easy and the part I had to pay attention mostly for was just setting up the Raspberry Pi and the converter board.

Now instead of just NBA Jam I have 10,000+ games and a nice arcade for whenever I host parties.

Amazon royally fucked up my order and shipped it with no box (just the original box the arcade comes with) and left my package in the lobby room in an apartment building of 18 floors. We have a package room room, so they left it at the front for strangers to come and potentially steal it. I complained to customer service and managed to get a full refund while keeping the arcade.

I used showtime gaming to mod my Arcade. I paid to get a Raspberry Pi 5 included (Batocera and 10,000 +games pre-installed) and the kit came with everything I needed to get the arcade running. I did not pay for controls with them because I wanted a Sanwa with LED buttons. Their customer support is super responsive and awesome and even if I paid slightly more with getting the modding work done with them, I wanted piece of mind and simplicity.

Got the Encoders, Buttons, Sanwa Sticks, Bat Tops here. Switched the spring to 2lb.

I finally upgraded to a 4lb spring and played all 15 levels of 1944 and is definitely more comfortable. Should have done this years ago. I have transparent clear Ball Tops ordered as well. Also looking into a good speaker upgrade for this unit, possibly the Dayton PC105-4.

This is local and I do enjoy the games included. But it’s an older cabinet and it looks like the plexiglass is cracked at all 4 screw holes. I was thinking $150 max?

Driving the other day, someone threw out their entire arcade1up cab, with the riser and me that loves arcade machines, had to pick it up. Sure enough when I get home, the thing doesn't turn on, when you hit the on switch the screen darkens a little bit and there's a slight "pop" noise.

I've opened up the PCB and it looks like the 4th coil is damaged, not sure how I can possibly fix it or if it's even worth it.

Given that I kind of got this for free, I'm wondering if I should put any work into the PCB. I've heard about people modifying them to play other arcade games, like those 1000 in 1. The only thing is the controller panel is designed for only 3 player rampage.

I guess my main question overall is, for anyone that knows about these things is it possible at all to fix the PCB, work on it via mods or just get rid of it? I didn't realize how cheaply these were made, I can see why the guy threw it out lol...

So I bought a pre modded raspberry Pi Street Fighter 2 Legacy 1uparcade machine off some guy, everything works good, but he never connected the marquee light, stock on/off switch or stock volume switch. Admittedly i am a newbie but followed tutorials and got the marquee light working and the stock on/off switch turning everything off and on, no problem.

But the volume switch has seemed more difficult, the sound works fine and can be controlled in the Pi settings within emulation station. It is using the stock speakers connected to the hdmi control board via the plug in above the 3.5mm headphone jack. So I followed a tutorial on connecting the slider switch wires directly to the Keypad connection coming out of the hdmi control board (spliced them in) all seemed well, but then tried it out and the volume switch now controls screen brightness not volume, lol. The buttons on the keypad coming out of the hdmi controller also only control screen brightness. I tried the menu option on the keypad to see if I could change it to some kind of volume option, but it seems like the menu only has options for the screen (brightness, position, sizing, contrast). Have been looking for a way to change this to control volume but no luck. Might have to control volume in a different manner but before disconnecting what I already did thought i would reachout and see if anyone can help me out with this?

***UPDATE: So I decided to look at how the guy who did the mod initially wired the jst to the audio jack. It seemed he had the wires in the wrong order, so after changing that the stock volume switch partially works, lol, so it works when I turn the power on and up until the emulation station splash screen ends then it switches to brightness control again, so assuming it is a software issue. But I am getting closer!

Team encoder HAT on orange pi 5max 16gb .. back glass is the zero2w setup Added an HDMI switch with a Chromecast and retropie setup on pi3b+ just gotta set up the dolphin bar and we're in business!! Perfect setup for shooting distance.. just going to wrap in something modern, make some new legs (I'm a machinist.. Brake press is no problem) and clean up all the cords (wireless controllers, wrap and tuck the 3 pi cords lol etc..) and we're done!!!.. maybe I'll upgrade the play field eventually(:

I got this 4-player xmen "open box with out the box" a year ago, but don't need it now.

Should I assemble it before posting it on FBM, to show that it actually works? I checked and its got everything, but I read that if they sit too long there could be issues with the electronics.

Hello everyone. I have a Burgertime cabinet in mint condition that I bought when they were orginally made by Arcade1up. I’d like to sell it but I’m unsure about how much to ask for my Burgertime as a fair price. I was hoping to get opinions on what I should ask for it. It is number 385 out of the 3075 that were made. I have that certificate from Arcade1up that came with it to go with the cabinet if it sells. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

So I picked up the MKII at BJ's over Christmas for $200, PI4 kit $80, upgraded joystick/buttons $45, lcd marquee $129, hdmi kit $30 and materials/cables $40. Running Batocera (not v43 yet). Wanted this primarily for an inexpensive multicade. Still need to tweak mame apparently as not all games play and and lag on a few games(might be the PI4). All of this said, is there anything else I need/should do? Thought about a light gun, but not sure if I play enough shooters and they seem expensive. I do play daily and just wondering if I'm missing out on anything. Tia

I did this playfield swap some time ago and it's great. Looks awesome. My beef and why I kind of stopped messing with it is the flipper lag. Before the mod, as well as after the patch, any configuration you can think of the flipper lag is still there.

My question, I seem to remember reading somewhere that the marvel and star wars tables it was less noticeable? I never did that mod, got sidetracked, bummed about the lag, whatever. Is this true? Is it primarily the afm tables?

The highest i’ve ever scored was around 400k on the real machine (2nd photo) and i’ve been hoping to get that close with my Arcade1Up but playing right handed is still tricky to me. I didn’t think scores over 999,999 were possible?

Hey all. I sell tabletop arcade cabinets. While mostly US purchasers, I have sold a couple to Canadian purchasers. Something I've noticed that is weird is that when the Canadian buyers get their cabinets, the Pis inside are always disconnected. They connect by usb-c cables to an internal power block, so there is no way for them to jostle loose since they are locked in place. It's always the Pis disconnected, not the video card or even the power cord coming from outside the case. I could understand the power cords being disconnected, since you have to unplug them to remove the back of the case to check for contraband. Those are always connected, but not the usbc cable.

Anyone else experience anything similar?

I have FnF and it’s cool as a driving cab but I’m an 80s baby and would immediately grab an Outrun cab and sell the FnF 😆… especially in a Supreme form factor. Based on the comments this post got it seems like Outrun would be the best received of the rumored list…

None of the joysticks or buttons do anything visually on screen & the audio icon stays on. The audio switch itself doesn't increase or decrease volume when moving it. This cabinet has all parts, I took it apart hoping it was a unplugged cable which I can't seem to find. I cleaned the power & audio switches a good amount but the audio switch is still a bit mushy. Any ideas what could be wrong, do I need to replace the controller pcb if thats possible? I couldn't find any snipped or unplugged cables to the buttons or joystick housings. Any help is appreciated.

I know 32 inch monitors and 27 inch monitors are often recommended to upgrade the digital pinball machines , but I have seen 30 inches referenced a few times but no real info, such as which 30 inch monitors work best, pictures of completed upgrade or mods needed to make it fit best?

I was hyped to get some cabinets connected to Wi-Fi and maybe attempt to compete for some online high scores, but the leaderboards have a lot of clearly illegitimate activity up at the top. Is this something that’s ever addressed/purged or is it just a permanent mess and a failed endeavor?
