Found this one under the front step to our door. Being from California, I’m fairly used to black widows and other large-ish arachnids. This guy really caught me off guard. I was thinking it was a Giant House Spider (Eratigena duellica) just based off a quick Google search anyone else have any alternative ideas? (quarter for reference).

I was at the beach in Tamaulipas, Mexico and while getting ready to sleep this guy fell on the bed

Pardon the awful photo; I was startled by the enormous size and didn’t want to get too close. The xxl pedipalps and body shape seem Solifugid, and I think I’ve heard these called Oregon Sun Spiders, but I’ve never seen one in real life so thought I’d ask here! Probably around 1.5-2 inches in size.

This fella jumped down on me from the ceiling and just sat there for a minute as we both contemplated our options. He didn’t bite me, but I wish he had because it would have made the ID easier as to whether or not he was some sort of recluse.

I’m a spider lover and I’ve never seen a butt like his. Odd gentleman.

Found in the Cu Chi tunnels in Vietnam. Been my favourite beast ever since Harry Potter, glad to have found this beautiful specimen in the wild!

This is my pet whipspider named Crucio. I always thought they were so cool since Harry Potter and now I finally got one as a pet! He seems to has lost a leg before i bought him. He was kept in an enclosure with lots of other animals the seller told me, I can imagine he lived more in stress than in peace there.

Very fast walker. Constantly leaving a safety line behind. Constantly tried to rapel to escape. Beautiful!

Im pretty sure this is a spotted orbweaver.

My main question is how to pin an insect. Ive always wanted to learn how to.

While cleaning i found this beautiful spider and im confused about the cause of death and feel really sad for this. If anyone can explain why its abdomen is so thin (see the 3rd picture) and what is coming out of it. Is this an egg? Feces? Genitalia?

Id like to pin it to preserve its beauty. But Ive never pinned an insect before so I have zero knowledge. But since this is for myself and not for a scientific record i dont need it to be a 100% perfect.

Found this little guy trapped and had to do what I had to do so he can continue to wander & find a mate.

Located in eastern Virginia, south of the Rappahannock River.

Google says it's a tarantula.
