My wife bought a bunch of Envy apples and all of them were ‘sour’ tasting and looked discolored inside with some sort of white fuzzy stuff near the seeds (photo attached).

I thought I’d post here to see what the experts think the cause was!

I have no idea why this apple looks like this but i thought it was odd enough to post.

I don't have a garage or basement/cellar so what is the best outbuilding apple storage location?

Would a shed do? How do you control the temp/humidity/etc for longest storage duration?

Okay so basically we have a total of 3 Apple trees in our yard and they have been there for more then 10 years, i recently got into gardening and i am slowly learning how to cook and harvest them but i don't know exactly what type of apples we have, the first tree, those apples grow spread out from each other, they are mostly green i believe this is because they don't get enough sun, therefore they don't turn red.

the second Tree has tradition small crab apples but the bigger green ones are also more spread out

The third tree has them more in clusters and close together, i have seen the smaller crab apples mixed with them before but its mostly the bigger one's

from what i heard Crab apples sizes can get as big as a cherry or gold ball size but most of the apples are bigger then that about the size of a tennis ball.

My apple tree has clusters of apple, like three, four or even five. It's like 5-6 years old but this year it's the first time when it's like that.

I hadn’t noticed it prior to today because it’s been a busy stretch for me but it looks like a decent chunk of the leaves have it. Am I screwed? How can I fix it?

Cosmic crisps are some of my favourite apples! Earlier today I had one and it was more sour than sweet, which surprised me. I recall them being more sweet with a slight tang. The crispiness was the same and there was no strange aftertaste. Im in Australia so they are in season right now. I’m definitely going to try another one soon. It might’ve been underripe (though they were deep red)?

How are you guys finding them this season?

So my go to place for picking has no fruit this year because of the frost this year. Does anyone have any known places that will or do have some apples or peaches

I think I got this little dwarf about 2 years ago. I’ve read on some message boards that they take a while to produce. These two might fall off. I’ll update if they mature or fall off.

It’s suppose to have the “the highest levels of beneficial flavonoids of any apple”.

I had issues with wooly apple aphids the first year , but neem killed them and it finally fruited.

Not sure what’s happening to my apple tree. The leaves are turning yellow and kind of bumpy. Just planted this year in June. We have had a ton of rain here this year so I haven’t been watering consistently, trying not to over do it- could it be over or under watering? Or is this something like apple scab?

We have had some good frosts at Beau Vista cider apple and perry pear orchard in the Wairarapa, New Zealand recently.
This is good in killing off unwanted bugs etc in the grass and resetting bud burst of the trees. Just like apples, perry pear trees require about 600-900 hours of winter chilling hours (these are not just frosts but hours with temperatures below about 7°C) to break dormancy and reset their spring blossom. Without enough cold, the blossoms will be sparse, delayed, or fail to open entirely - delayed foliation. And unlike apples, pears like to blossom spectacularly before the leaves appear (hysteranthous). This is a high risk evolutionary tactic to attract a lot of pollinators but puts the flower (esp. the pistils) at risk from damage from a late frost once the flower has grown out from the protective scales of the bud. (When dormant in winter they can survive temperatures as low as
-25C).
