Discussion How can the iPhone SE 2nd gen and iPhone 11 be supported on iOS 27 but Apple Watch Ultra 1 is out already?!?!
Absolutely mind blowing and unfortunate

Lowest one yet except for my interruptions. One of the highest scores I’ve gotten for that subsection…

Most of GMT’s are just the selected colour on night time and a huuuuuge chunk of gray on your screen so it feels like a waste… apart from a few “fun” colorways like the 3 classics red/blue, red/black, and blue/black.
I managed to find some fun ones like titanium that goes brown/green, light titanium thats beige/brown and five that have color/light gray…
Anyone knows any of the seasonal colours has a fun combination?

Well, I never expected my first 100 score to happen in a hotel bed on a terrible pillow, but here we are! 😂
Anyone else hit their (first) 100 in a totally unexpected place?

I'm getting my very first Apple Watch (Series 11) next week. I'm super excited, so naturally I've been looking into different apps to download.
One of the main reasons I wanted a watch was to help reduce my screentime. Having all the essentials on my wrist without having to open my phone and potentially get distracted is a game changer. I'm hoping it'll also help with productivity, especially as a high school student.
I don't really workout, (walking and ride my bike is the most active I get lol) so I'm not really looking for fitness apps. I've also seen a lot of health-related apps, so I'm not looking for any of those either.
Some things I'm looking for:
- Calendar or scheduling apps (especially for students time-blocking study time)
- Productivity (habit trackers, to-do lists, pomodoros, etc)
- Fun additions (like a countdown app, daily quote/vocab, I saw one that was a score tracker which is super useful as someone who plays card games with friends a lot lol)
- Just general useful apps for students, like Transit or Google Maps
TL;DR - What apps do you actually use that you can't imagine going without? Or are essential for students?

Just got my kid an Apple Watch SE 3 GPS + Cellular, 40mm, to use in lieu of getting a phone. Today is the first day of full use (no WiFi, on a trip, on a route that generally has good Verizon reception), and after 5 hours in Low Power Mode (with one test call and 6 text messages), always on display disabled, and raise to wake disabled, the watch is already down to 33%, which seems to imply that the watch will only last 7.5 hours before dying, despite trying everything to conserve battery.
Pretty disappointed in that pertormance, so trying to assess other options if I return this.
What kind of real world, cellular-only performance would I expect from the SE 3 44mm Cellular, or a Series 11 model?
Starting to wonder if I should just find a dumb phone instead of a watch (that will work for communication purposes, but of course won't work with Apple Cash, which I like having on the watch)
Thanks

I got a lot of utility out of this one for last 5+yrs but not working well now. Set it up as a complication on the Modular Ultra watch face and it was very useful as a capture tool since it sent the text to my Gmail account. But it's not working well now. Have contacted the developer who did respond and asked me to do some testing which I did. But no update in last month. Anyone still using this, or what have you replaced it with?

I’m currently using a Series 9. Given Apple's software support cycles, smartwatch lifespans feel relatively short, and I doubt it will receive major updates much longer.
I don't want to leave the Apple Health ecosystem, So I’d love a screenless band. A screenless tracker would likely have a longer overall lifetime, Plus I'd be able wear traditional mechanical watches again.

I’ve been wearing an Apple Watch since Series 0 and realized there’s one thing that has bothered me for almost 10 years.
The one thing a watch should always do is tell you the time.
Yet on watchOS, that’s surprisingly often not possible at a glance.
Examples (there are MANY more):
- You get a notification, someone asks “What time is it?”, and you first have to dismiss the notification.
- You’re browsing the App Grid.
- You’re inside a third-party app.
- You’re navigating settings or another system screen.
In all these cases, the time is hidden.
My proposal is incredibly simple:
Always display the current time in the top-right corner whenever you’re not on the watch face.
The watch face already exists to beautifully present the time, so it doesn’t need another clock. But every other screen should always keep the time visible, just like iPhone, iPad, and Mac always show the time in the status bar.
It seems like a tiny change, but I think it would improve the experience dozens of times every day.
Am I the only one who finds it ironic that the most advanced watch in the world sometimes forgets to be… a watch?

Reposting my own reply above for easier discovery since it’s become so popular over the years:
None of the suggestions I’ve read describe the solution the way that finally worked for me: raise the Watch to your mouth and speak right away, but make sure you turn your wrist so that the face of the Watch is facing your mouth; perpendicular to the sound waves exiting. I would have thought into the mic was where you want to speak but it’s into the screen while it is also perpendicular to level (the floor or ceiling) or parallel to walls.

My Apple Watch Series 9 just bit the dust. Should I wait till September for the Series 11 (where I'll actually notice some upgrades) or just grab a Series 10 right now with 25% off? My brain says wait, but I've worn an AW every single day for eight years, and going without it feels like my arm's been cut off. Open to suggestions

I have an Apple Watch Series 10 with cellular, and a few days ago my 16 Pro Max got submerged in water and has not worked since. Even though I have cellular on my watch, and I have used it for voice to messages, I have noticed that I was not able to send a message via SMS to someone on Android, and it has not downloaded my email since my phone stopped working.
Why is it not sending the message to the Android user? Does this have anything to do with it needing my iPhone to make it work?
Why is it not downloading my email?
Thanks

I got my SE2 battery replaced last December using AppleCare +. Pretty sure they just gave me a new watch in the end. 7 months later my battery is at 92% health! I use it exactly same as before and never allow it to drop below a 20% charge. Old battery took a at least a year to go from 100 to 97%. Is this normal or is it because of the newer OS?

The second photo was taken at an odd angle but I have two red marks on my wrist that I wear my watch. I wear my watch everyday and to sleep. I charge it when I am showering and getting ready.
Has anyone else had this before? I am going to not wear my watch until this goes away. Do I need a more breathable wristband? I have been using the silicone one that comes with the watch.

I have a perfectly working Series 7 Cellular but I got to know that OS support is dropping for it.
Will it continue to work normally without compatibility issues ? Or an upgrade should be planned ?

Hey everyone, I just got an S11 last month but I’m noticing some strange behaviour and am wondering if any of you have seen it before.
When bringing the top of my phone (iPhone 15) near the bottom of the watch, the screen seems to be glitching as pictured in the video. I’m not sure if there is interference or something, but I’ve already tried restarting both devices and this behaviour still persists. I also swapped the band (thought maybe magnetism from the other band could be interfering somehow) but that didn’t change anything.
An hour later, the watch began really glitching (semi-unresponsive (?), battery incorrectly reported as 0%). I’m not sure that was related to this or if it was due to my attempts at troubleshooting. A force reboot seems to have fixed that but the screen glitching persists.
In any case, I assume this is not normal and I’ll need to bring it in to the Apple Store, but I was just hoping to see if anyone had any insight. Thanks!
Edit: I should note this behaviour only seems to appear on the watch face.

I took off my watch yesterday around 6pm. Had estimated 50% of battery left.
I have automatic low power mode when taking off activated, so that worked as you can see.
Usually the watch loses about 10% overnight or 12h without use.
But this night it died completely in just some hours!
As you can see it was dead by 4am.
That’s very unusual.
I had the watch next to me on my nightstand, screen was off and no sensor light was shining over night.
Any idea what happened and how to prevent it?

I recently got an Apple Watch SE 2, and I’m looking for recommendations for a screen protector or protective case.
I know a lot of people say the watch looks and feels best without any protection, and I completely get that. But I’m the type of person who just can’t stand seeing scratches on my watch. I’d rather add a little bulk than end up with a scratched screen or dinged edges.
I’m looking for something that:
Keeps the watch as scratch-free as possible.
Doesn’t ruin the touch sensitivity.
Doesn’t look too bulky or cheap.
Is durable enough for everyday use.
What are you all using? Any brands or products you’d recommend (or avoid)?
