Troubleshooting BBC iPlayer issue. Does anyone know what's going on here?

I'm using iPlayer on a 2nd gen Mi Box. I'm outside of UK. I use VPN. I installed the iPlayer app apk through a link that I found here on Reddit. The link on the screen leads to a page that make it seem like my device will not be supported anymore but what exactly BBC is doing here? Is it a legal issue or Adroid version issue or iPlayer version issue? Any advice appreciated.

First it showed green lines all along the screen and started rebooting on the Google TV logo it showed purple lines all along the screen I shut it off

When I tried turning it on again later that day completely dead

Only the white light remains static on the power button no display no nothing

If you have any of these devices then BBC iPlayer Apk will shutdown on these devices listed below I believe the version is Dev etc

First to say if your BBC iPlayer didn't come from the Google Play store and you used Downloader you will be affected even though these devices are Google certified they aren't BBC certified that's why you are getting the message pop up

FIRESTICKS WON'T BE AFFECTED

GOOGLE CHROMECAST WITH GOOGLE TV HD AND 4K WON'T BE AFFECTED

GOOGLE TV Streamer Won't be affected

LG, Hisense, Panasonic, Toshiba, Samsung eg Smart TV os won't be affected unless you don't get the pop up

  1. Xiaomi Sticks and Boxes, Android TV/Google TV

  2. Thomson Google TV Sticks and Boxes

  3. Any Smart TVs with built in Android TV/Google TV that can't get BBC from the play store

  4. If your devices get the pop up then you will be affected

Leave a comments if you want any more information

I believe you will still be able to cast to the TV with your iPhone or Android

Buying Advice Box With The Perfect Remote?

Hi,

Are there any boxes that come with the perfect remote?

The perfect remote for me is an easy to use remote, just enough buttons and most of all, no "shortcut" buttons for youtube/netflix/amazon/disney+..

Want either buttons for Live Tv, Movies, Tv Shows or just blank ones to customize myself.

It seems most of these boxes (and remotes) are made for easy use for youtube/netflix/amazon/disney+ but none are made with iptv in mind?

Buying Advice i need a new android tv box for my "dumb tv".

i already have a ccwgtv hd, but it's so incredibly slow. for now i've had to use my macbook connected to it which has good performance, but it's a messy setup. all i need is 1080p60, a menu that doesn't lag and preferably sideloading for smarttube.
