a political rage playlist about refusing obedience and surviving the machinery
hi guys! i made a political playlist that begins in exhaustion rather than triumph: being governed, watched, overworked and repeatedly told that systemic violence is merely unfortunate administration
it moves from indian indie and political hip-hop through feminist punk, anti-capitalist music, afrobeat and quieter songs about preserving one another after the spectacle of revolt ends
survival of the loudest
comrade, pass the aux
https://open.spotify.com/playlist/4EfxWU0FGgQF5w7ttmcFQt?si=882b7e3cbff64df1
i’d love anarchist and anti-authoritarian recommendations that aren’t limited to traditional punk - especially folk, indie, electronic, hip-hop and music outside the anglosphere

Internet activism is not enough
I say this with much love to the modern anarchist movement and to my fellow anarchists of all tendencies, from egoists to platformists, but internet activism is not enough, I know many of you are involved in organization, but I also know many of you are not. This may be because you live in a rural area or are young, but if you are not either of those things I think it is time to look into organizing. The harsh truth is that posting about anarchist movements means little if you do not seek organization yourself. Food Not Bombs has dozens and dozens of chapters across the US, most large cities have at least a few anarchist or AFA groups. I know too many anarchists, people who I consider friends, I have nothing but love for them, but they do not take the opportunity to organize even when it is right in their face, because while I do love them, to them, and unfortunately to many anarchists, anarchism is seen as a hobby. Reading theory, debating ideology and posting old pictures from Spain doesn't mean anything if you are not taking action when you have opportunity.
I recommend looking into Food Not Bombs, that is who I organize with, as well as various other local organizations across the US. The main distinction between anarchists nowadays is not between left and post left, not between Platform and Synthesis, the division is between anarchists who do things when they have the opportunity and those who do not. An anarchist who lives in New York or Boston or Seattle or Chicago or Houston who refuses to organize presents more of a threat to the anarchist movement than any ideological debate could. Internet activism is not enough, do not let anarchism become just a hobby.
groups pictured in order:

Black Rose Anarchist Federation
Anarchist Federation (UK)
Food Not Bombs
Crab Anarchist Collective

Insane Pre-Crime Strategy Unveiled for Leftist “Extremists"
"The Strategy identifies the “left-wing,” “anti-Fascists,” “Anarchists” and “radically pro-transgender” ideologies as threats equivalent to jihadi groups like al Qaeda and ISIS, or narco-traffickers."

Meta Anarcho-Media Suggestions
Hey friends. The list of media resources on the side bar and the wiki here is out of date and I'm willing to take on the labor of updating it. But I would appreciate your help.
What podcasts are you listening to?
Which YouTubers are you subscribed to?
Which streamers are you watching?
Who is out there making anarchist media?
What are your favorite zine distros?
Where do you get your anarchist news?
Are YOU an anarchist content creator? Share your stuff here please (if you want to share it attached to your reddit account - if not you can send me a dm with your links)
I've curated a fairly extensive list on my own but I know that I don't have every thing.
It would be especially cool if it isn't all English language either.

New User Democracy feels like an illusion
We're told democracy means "rule by the people." But does it?
I don't think so.
In this country... you already know how messed up it is. If you go against people with power, you might get silenced. Education has become a business. Comedians are getting arrested for making jokes, but criminals are free (if they're rich). Justice is for sale. The law is strict for the poor and flexible for the rich. The government expects accountability from its people but rarely holds itself accountable.
Many people are supporting "Sonam Wangchuk" by posting stories on social media and joining protests. But in the end, it feels like peasants giving suggestions to a king about how to run his kingdom, while the king doesn't care and will do whatever he wants.
The future I see is this: people will eventually get tired of realizing that their efforts mean nothing. And, over time, the change that everyone is fighting so hard for will once again become just a dream.
I hope I'm proven wrong.

Nothing for Snitches: For a Revolutionary Anti-Repression
abolitionmedia.noblogs.org“The paramount issue is the character and integrity of the movements we are building. We must confront, vilify, and destroy traitors at every opportunity; deal with them as the dehumanized vipers that they are; instill ‘the greater fear.’ The political terms must always be clear: discredit and destroy all traitors.” – Sekou Odinga, Kuwasi Balagoon, Judy Clark, David Gilbert, Silvia Baraldini
