Tax Tax and NI question.
Hello! I haven’t done Flex for a few years and was hoping to come back to it. I have a question regarding tax/national insurance. Am I right in thinking that I can deduct my miles driven at 55p per mile? For example if a block was £45, and I drove 48 miles, I could deduct £26.40 (48 miles x 0.55) as an expense and then pay tax and NI on the difference = £18.60?
Do I pay 20% tax on that amount? How much NI do I pay?
Ps. I’m not interested in debating whether £45 is worth it or 48 miles is too many or not enough - they are example figures.
Cheers!

SMALL CAR BIG ENOUGH ?
Hi guys, i was looking around a Toyota dealership today and had a sit in the new Aygo hybrid. It's a cracking little car but my question is this. Can you get away with doing Flex in one ?

Leaving car running whole doing deliveries
Someone called me crazy for leaving the car running while I get out and drop off a parcel even if I've parked right in front of the door.
Found that it keeps the flow if I leave the car running and don't have to faff around waiting for the car to start and waste fuel
Am I crazy for doing this or is anyone else with me lol

Can someone decode this please
Do they mean that our loading time is now the 15mins before a block when we work for free if you check-in early? (because we love Amazon)
Vaugly remember that official loading time was 30mins (15mins early check-in and 15mins on block). So, normally I just check-in 1min early, especially on Morrisons blocks.

What’s the name of that chalky white and extremely bumpy road in Dronfield area? Anyone know?

Rates dropping?
Saw £16 an hour, which is hardly a good sign…

Payment Adjustments
Has anyone else been finding that payment adjustments are taking forever to be processed recently?
I have two currently I have emailed about and I have been waiting 7 & 9 days respectively. Any time I have previously put in an ask for an adjustment they have been processed within 24/48h.
Will following up speed it up or is it just a pointless exercise and they’ll get to it eventually?

Onsi/Shell card
Do you guys use the Onsi/Shell card? How does it work do you have to load money on to the card to get the discount? As I use Costco for my fuel wondering if it’s worth it.

So if a customer is not at home but wants it delivered directly to them but their is a safe location are you returning every parcel in this scenario? 🤦🏽♂️
I always leave it in a secure location if no one answers and if their isn’t a safe location then I will take it back to the depot but very rarely! First time I got one of these in a whole year. What’s everyone take on this?

This Looks Ominous!
Just finished a block from Banbury (DoX2). 4 hour block, done in 2.5 in Oxford. When I finished, I got this message: sorry your parcels arent quite ready yet. Checked my itinerary and 2 more items have been added and it looks like I have to go Back to Banbury, collect 2 more parcels, then drive back to Oxford 🤣.
This is the second time this has happened in a week or so. Called driver support and they told me to ignore it and the list will be refreshed at the end of my block time - it's a glitch, she said!
However, I wonder if they're thinking of implementing this type of return to base for more deliveries if you finish early

Message me if you want any extra work in Manchester!
Former flexer here just looking to recruit a driver or 2 if you fancy extra (guaranteed!) work around Manchester. I have now owned my business since 2023, and we have all kinds of contracts (mainly in medical logistics) but we have also started doing logistics for local businesses. As such, we have a new company we have just recently taken on board. They are a sourdough baker and they provide baked goods to cafes around greater Manchester. This is good and easy work for anyone that can spare 2 hours on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. On Tuesdays you will have 4 stops and on Thursdays it’s 5 stops, both routes covering around 20 miles. Pay is £40 on Tuesday and £45 on Thursday, and you will be getting paid weekly. Please message me for further details. Thank you

2 weeks ago! Now everyone is accepting £16 an hour?
This image is from just 2 weeks ago where I earned £620 for the week. Now suddenly the blocks are being offered for £16 an hour but even more ridiculous is that they are being snapped up! I find it so frustrating that people want to snap these up when the potential for big earnings is there if they could just be patient! It wasn't hard to get these blocks for £25 an hour and didn't need to tap constantly either. I don't get it even if people are that desperate!

Forefeiting blocks
If you forfeit blocks in good time (before the 45 minute time limit) - will you be rejected from the app eventually?

No insurance offers out of blue
Hi,
I've been flexing for something like 4-5 months, I didn't have any problems with my insurance (INSHUR) yet
Now they sent me an email saying my insurance is ending soon and they are not able to cover me anymore.
As I am checking, no one, apart from ridiculously high priced insurance, won't cover me.
Given that literally nothing changed and I don't have anything on my licence and no claims, what can be reason for that?
Is this game over for me?

Thanks!

Insurance Query insurance question
looking at getting a new car, it’s technically classed as a van, it’s a nissan navara. i have been doing flex now for 18 months in a VW golf and have had zego insurance as inshur wouldn’t offer me insurance as my car was too old. i have had a look, and inshur won’t offer me it on the new car, and zego don’t seem to do pay as you go on vans. what does everyone do on here that has a van or car classed as a van, in terms of insurance?

Warning about Bots
I’ve had this warning 9 months ago, when I first received this warning it tanked my standing to the lowest possible, they will find out eventually no matter how careful you are.

Will I get paid?
Turn up to depot. No blocks available. Supervisor tried to get me to scan a single package (so I don’t get paid for nothing I guess). Wasn’t working. He then tried to discharge me which also didn’t work. Said he will put in a ticket for me so I get paid but I’m finding it hard to believe. Called support and sent an email too to explain.

Never taking an early 4 hour block from DRG2 again! 100 miles total driven, Reading to Oxford and back! Now I understand why they’ve increased it to £80!
Hadn’t done one since winter which actually was decent, so I thought I’d try it for £80, but now I understand why they’ve increased it from £72 to £80, I bet they’re all destined to Oxford. Took me nearly an hour to get to my first stop with traffic! Despite finishing my block 20 minutes early, by chance their was a stop where no one was at home and no where safe to leave their parcel (handy 😉), so had to make a return journey back to the depot which took me 40 mins over my block time, so not only did they have to pay me an extra £20 adjustment, I’ll be able to claim mileage for my return to the depot. #worksmarternoharder

Block Cancelled
I went to the warehouse and they turned everybody around saying blocks have been cancelled.
However they didnt scan any ones phone to discharge them and i received no email stating the block cancellation and i received no notification on the app.
How does this work? Do i need to email them
Also i didn’t check in when i arrived since they turned us around at the check in area.
Thank you
