I am 17 years old and in high school looking for a job. Acme is just around the corner and would be the perfect first job for me. I applied online weeks ago. I just went in and asked if they were hiring and if so, if I can get an application. They said they were but job applications were filled out online only. What should I do since I already applied and not heard anything back. Thanks!

"Digitals for U" via its official app and then members. Aren't both considered members? iPhone's iOS app was confusing. I was looking at my missing clipped coupons in the wrong area. They were actually in members list. Argh!

Had a visit from the local PD today to remedy an unfortunate situation. In the 4+ hours while this customer was here, they: took a shit load of drugs/got extremely high while shopping/attempting to steal product (she was taking eggs out of the 30 pk cartons and putting them in her purse/bag LMAO), and tried to fight the PD while being told to leave. Super sad in my viewpoint as this is not the first time this has happened with this person, and to see the effects of drug usage first hand (face of customer is covered to protect her).

Have any of you guys had similar situations like this at your stores?

I live in an assisted living facility. I am not mobile.

I love Albertson's delivery. I get an order every single week.

It's easy, on time, professional people, etc.

However, I have one question. I have ordered egg salad every week for the last six months. When I order by weight, what I really want is 12 ounces. I have ordered the deli egg salad, the ready to eat egg salad, etc. I always only get .25 ounces. The one time I did get 12 ounces it had a label that said egg salad, but it was potato salad.

I've spent hours on the phone with the local store, the national customer service line and still I can't seem to get 12 ounces of egg salad.

What do I need to do to actually receive, 12 ounces of egg salad?

My local Albertsons has a Pokémon vending machine. People constantly glitch it out and camp it all day — managers never seem to do anything about it.

Today one of the regular scalpers gets caught red handed (manager watched him stick his arm in machine and reset it).

The manager told them “you’re now loitering, you need to leave” which they did. The manager followed them out of the store and took a video of their license plate.

Does that mean they’re trespassed from this Albertsons now? Wondering if it’s worth letting a manager know if I see them in the store again or if they’re gonna just roll their eyes at me like they usually do when I try to report glitching.

i started out as a sacker at united when i was 15, then moved to cashier at 16. since then i’ve been cross trained in DUG, SCO, and fuel. i saw an opening at the service desk, decided to go for it, asked if i could be considered, and ended up getting a spot on the team. i’m still only 16 and officially start training next week.
im excited, but also kinda nervous. im mainly wondering how people older than me or coworkers i already know will treat me now that im moving into a higher role. we’re a smaller store, so everyone knows everyone lol.

i also want to go in as prepared as possible. i already know the basics of what service desk does (money orders, western union, checks, complaints, phone calls, etc.), but im worried about juggling everything at once while also sending people on breaks and making sure they come back on time.

any advice from current or former service desk employees?

food and safety inspector came in yesterday as i was clocking out.. needless to say i came in this morning and my manager wasn’t very happy with me.

paper towel dispenser was empty
a corn box was left on the floor of the cutting room where fresh cut works
and a paper towel roll was left by the dispenser

i was aware of these things and it just totally slipped my mind yesterday to fix them before i left because we were really busy and i was focused on cleaning up my own area

this is the first time this has happened with me and i’ve been with the company for a year so i’ve been beating myself up about this pretty hard. it was 100 percent my responsibility and i dropped the ball.

id say at least one positive thing came out of this, now i really know and will NOT make the same mistake again. my job depends on it..

i know sick time doesn’t cash out which sucks since i got a new job and wanted to use some of it before i left. but now im being told i have to call in sick 3 days in a row in order to use it?? how does this make sense? i’ve had plenty of coworkers call in sick once and use it for that day, and my receiving worker also told me she uses it when she has appointments scheduled. i’m mad because i was suppose to have 12 vacation hours cash out but now i only have 4 because they used 8 of my vacation despite me asking to use sick.

TLDR- i know my register will come up about 8ish dollars short today by complete accident. will i be terminated/ in trouble for this?

i work in the pharmacy as a clerk. basically our registers are extremely slow, and as i was checking a customer out the computer glitched and i accidentally hit that someone gave me 4$ cash instead of the card button so it auto completed the transaction. I hit give refund thinking it would refund the transaction but it actually put 3 dollars and some change on the guys card (the amount of his med) instead of refunding the transaction and him just paying after.

we were in a pretty big rush so i didn’t think much of it at the time but now that im off i cannot stop thinking about it. will i be fired for this or am i just overthinking it?

How many paid sick days do I earn working full time? I’ve been with the company for 18 years, are they paid out if I don’t call in sick?

Work for a shaws in New England. We have the literal worst store director. They will sit in their office with 2 department managers, watch cameras and DUG orders on their computer and just talk shit. Not to mention they ignore every other struggling department. I have watched every other good, hard working employee, including our HR up and quit. The only reason I stay is because I love my department and department manager.

Just wondering if there is ANYTHING that can be done because they are literally watching the store burn from their office and refusing to help anything.

I got a job offer and have a DUI pending charge. I just submitted my background check. Will this prevent me from getting the job? Its for Shaw's. Thank you.

My daughter started working (yay)! She was only given 1 shirt... is that normal? (Portland division. Hired as a general clerk, being trained as a meat clerk ATM). Can you buy more? She usually does laundry 1x a week but wearing the same shirt all week without washing seems kinda gross... and not what the company would want. She does have an apron to wear, which helps.

Update: thanks all. She asked them about buying extras and they said they'd give her a couple more next week.
