Taking on the stewardship of the Cinerama Dome is a serious public trust. We know what the theater means to Los Angeles, to filmmakers around the world, and to generations of moviegoers who have experienced unforgettable films beneath that concrete shell.

The Cinerama Dome will remain the Cinerama Dome. It will not be renamed or rebranded as an Alamo Drafthouse, and it will not operate as a dine-in theater.

Instead, we'll preserve the qualities that made it special in the first place – its traditional concessions, mid-century modern character, enormous curved screen, and singular presentation experience. The Dome will once again serve as a premier destination for 70mm exhibition, major premieres, blockbuster events, filmmaker series, and repertory programming created specifically for the venue.

I am under the impression Alamo will be showing ‘Her Private Hell’. The film’s release date is this Friday, July 24th. But I am wondering if it’s only available in certain Alamo markets. Neither the DC Metro or NoVa locations have showtimes scheduled. Also, I wonder if Alamo is staggering its release dates with ‘The Odyssey’ approaching its second weekend and ‘Spider-Man’ dropping next week. Anybody seen showtimes where they are?

I am trying to buy a ticket using the app but once I get to the checkout everything just pauses. Just checking to see if this is a me problem or a Alamo App problem!

My first Q&A in person and it was a pretty awesome experience. A lot of good questions and answers from NWR. He’s also pretty funny, glad he didn’t die from his near death experience for sure

I finally gave into the Christopher Nolan hype because I love The Odyssey, but didn’t realize I bought tickets to the 70mm format instead of the 70mm IMAX. Now I’m getting major fomo.

Tickets are all sold out for 70mm IMAX, but is it worth looking for an IMAX (non 70mm) showing (unknown seating) or stick to the 70mm format (prime seats) at the Alamo Drafthouse?

Anyone have any insight to whether they will be showing The Hunger Games movies this September at the Alamo? Particularly in Austin? I’ve seen that other chains like Cinemark and Regal already have showtimes posted. I’m a season pass holder, so unsure if I should hold out for Alamo to post showtimes or go ahead and book at another theater ahead of time. TIA
