Any idea how long it takes the status to update after taking the Delta Aon assessment? The status that either says interviewing or not selected to advance.

25yr old Sunny CJO holder (blessed and grateful to say those words), starting training next month, and thinking about my 5-8 year career plan. I’ve been told to put my apps in to UA/AA/DL/WN as soon as you have an unrestricted ATP which I will get when I go to sunny (I’m 135 so I’ve been flying a jet with a CPL the last 2 years) but one of the reasons why I’ve been able to get to a Sun country at 25 is because I kinda left college halfway through to pursue flight training full time. So, I have about half a college degree right now. My plan is to finish my degree online, which at a part time pace probably will take me 3-4 years. Now, obviously, im still gonna put in my apps when I get my ATP because I’ve been told having your app in earlier shows commitment and interest, but I was curious if I should expect crickets the next 4 years or if there is a possibility they would look at me before then? Thanks.

Got an interview with SY coming up in a few weeks time. Any current pilots here able to shed some light on how life is there currently? APC hasn’t been updated since ‘22 so not sure what’s still accurate on there or not. Even the stuff there is better than my current outfit…
Any info appreciated from how the flying is for new guys, the good/bad/ugly in the contract, or how you see the Allegiant buy-out changing things. Right now it’s looking like my next career move so hoping to make the most informed choice possible.
Thanks in advance!

Im lucky enough to have interviews with both coming up in the next few weeks and I know this subject has been beaten to death. So ill try to make my questions brief
Info on me:
I live in NH. Im not moving. I've commuted before and didnt really think it was that bad. My closest airport is MHT and BOS is a 2 hour drive. I would happily drive to Boston if there was a base there that id see in less than 10 friggin years (lookin at you 330) Currently Boston based at a regional. Im starting a young family soon and greatly value time off. I value easy commuting over "better pay"
SW (perceived) pros:
●Commute to BWI from MHT (never dealing with Boston traffIc again would be HUGE)
● Efficient trips resulting in more days off (minus commuting days)
● High degree of control over schedule
●Possible MHT overnights
DL (perceived) pros:
●Better flight benefits
●Fleet diversity
●Can fly WB and/or NB (have never had the WB lifestyle so i dont miss what ive never had)
●Possible BOS base expansion in the future (pure rumor)
●Good possibility that Delta will still be around when I retire
●Its Delta
Questions:
●Is one able to easily non-rev international with SW benefits
●Whats the chances of SW stopping service to MHT
●Are there many MHT overnights out of the BWI base
●Whats the most recent from the rumor-mill about a 220 or other DL base in BOS
●Are any of my assumptions about either of these airlines wrong
Thanks so much in advance for answers. Even getting called dumb is useful information

What airliner/jet was or is the best to just click it off and fly?

How often are you having interesting, deep or meaningful conversations when starting a 4 day with a new captain or FO? For me it’s like 50/50. Some folks are easier to read and talk about interesting stuff right off the bat but I find it difficult to do that about half the time.
Is it important for you to not only be a good crew member but also learn about your co pilots life?

I have the opportunity to interview at FDX and at Delta. I currently live in Memphis and prefer to stay in Memphis. What's everyone's take on living in base working at Purple or commuting to Delta? Is Delta all that its cracked up to be? Or will commuting get old after awhile? I'm thinking FDX's new contract makes the pay fairly on par with each other, but QOL and company culture?

Currently an FO at a regional. Went to a large 141 school with a 4 year degree. No failures of any kind. Lots of leadership experience through being the captain of sports teams in high school and the collegiate level. Lots of volunteering time within my airline and outside. The stain on my application is my 2.3 gpa in college. Was young and dumb and focused on the wrong things. Genuinely my biggest regret was not trying harder in school.
How much will this affect my hiring chances at a major when they inevitably look at my transcripts?

Hi everyone,
I’m a captain at a very large 91k/135 company and the job is really starting to weigh down on me. I’m trying to make any jump possible to improve my QOL and chances of getting to my dream. After seeing how crazy the hiring market has been in 2026, I’ve realized that I may not be eligible for any legacy airline or major. I’ve also received no interview TBNT’s from 2 ULCC’s and an ACMI.
I’m pretty adamant now that I’m going to have to go to a regional to get the required 121 time, but even then, I’m starting to understand that this would be a great increase in my QOL and future earnings.
I’ve been sending my apps out to the regionals, but I’ve been told by multiple sources that I’m overqualified, even with how young I am. It sucks cause I feel stuck where I’m at and I can’t move up in my career by going to an airline. Are there any regionals that would hire someone with my experience?
My resume is good: thousands of hours, plenty of TPIC, volunteer experience, college degree, recs, and several meet and greets.
I do unfortunately have 2 checkride fails, so this may be what’s holding me back from getting into this industry. I have NO checkride fails at my company’s 121 AQP training though!

Recently got the "Cleared to Climb" email but I noticed it doesn't appear Delta has viewed my PRD. There's nothing at all derogatory in my PRD but I was just surprised. Do they have some sort of different process perhaps or is this something that just gets done later?

Greetings,
Airline buddy and I are taking an uber to MCO to catch a flight after class today, he’s got a super tight departure out of Terminal B and I have a later departure out of Terminal A. I know my way around A and where the KCM checkpoint is, but I don’t know much about B.
Basically, from what I’m reading online there is no KCM checkpoint in Terminal B, just an “expedited” screening through the standard TSA security checkpoint.
What’s his best COA, should he go through KCM at Terminal A? Use the “expedited” screening at Terminal B? I know that tram exists, but can it be used after security, or can you even walk inbetween Terminal A/B?
He’s departing out of Gate 9 in Terminal A, if that changes anything. If that can be reached easily from B after security, that would make things much much simpler.
Apologies for the long winded post, but any insight into the best COA, will likely be the difference of a guy getting home to his family this weekend and not being stranded at MCO all night. Just looking to help him out to the best of my ability! Appreciate anything ya’ll can share!

Ngl I’m making money hand over fist rn at WN living in base. Closest DL base is ATL, 4 hour drive or 12-14 flights a day between us. Trying to decide if the switch is worth what a middle income family makes in a year.
Delta folks, how much money did you make year 1? What ab year 2? Is picking up day trips easy? How is the premium and soft pay? Fleet, base, and where you live if you don’t mind as well. Thx in advance

Will be moving to PHX and commuting. Used to have the membership at Sky Harbor Airport Parking back when it was $63 years ago. Is that lot still the best deal? Ideally I'd like a covered spot for my car, but The Parking Spot monthly rate is $225! I also saw PreFlight Parking garage next to the 44th St station, but couldn't find the monthly rate. Any suggestions from locals that also commute out?

What’s up everyone. Hoping to get some advice regarding regional training. I recently signed a CJO and was told to expect a class date in around 3 months. There’s a chance if this class date gets assigned to me around this time, that my wife’s due date will be while I’m at training. Are they likely to work with me in allowing me to go home for a short stint to be there for the birth? Is this something I should disclose to them prior to training or once I’m in training? Just looking for some advice or knowledge from someone who maybe has been in this same boat. Obviously, being there for the birth of my first child is a non negotiable for me, but I just wasn’t sure how to navigate training if I get a class date that would have me at training at the same time my wife is due. Thanks!

Regional FO 7 months off of probation.
Two weeks ago, I called out for a wicked cold I somehow got in the middle of the scorching Texas summer. Recovered, cleared the sick call with the CPO. No problem. Flew last sequence no issues.
Now, two weeks later, I'm pretty sure I have a stomach bug from an (in hindsight, shady) taco stand. I'll spare too many details, but my condition has only gotten marginally better than on Monday. I'm seriously wondering if it's worth it to go to work tonight.
I'll for sure get a doctor's note if it ends up coming to that, but realistically, what are the chances my CPO would think I'm tugging their dick?
I only used one sick call the entirety of last year and am wondering if two sick calls this year in such close succession might get me a ding in my file.

Only partially kidding!! Hello fellow freight dogs!
Going to Hawaii next month for vacay. Loads currently looking iffy since it’s summer travel and all. Compiling a list of cargo backups I could take to and from to not get stuck.
Options going there I have
ATI 767
FedEx 767
Atlas 747
Then returning I have
ATI 767
FedEx 757, 767, and 777
Kalitta 747 and 777
Which should I plan for those that have done it?

I am starting at a certain regional that flies the CRJ soon. I want to move away from my A30s as I am overall not impressed by the headset coming from the previous A20s. I am interested in the CA and was curious which version you all recommend? Thanks in advance.

So I was fortunate enough to be selected for a Delta meet and greet. They mentioned during the registration that selection is very competitive, and the ones that are picked for the meet and greet are ones that they feel would be competitive in an interview. I am currently right seat at a regional, so this is obviously a welcomed surprise. I recently signed up with Raven Careers for an app review as well as the "job fair prep package" for the upcoming meet and greet.
Have any of you had a Delta meet and greet recently? And if you've worked with Raven Careers, do you feel they adequately prepared you?
I know having a meet and greet tagged to your app does wonders, and I've heard great things about Raven Careers from friends. Flying for a major has always been my end goal. I'm very excited and beyond grateful for the opportunity of having the meet and greet.

Looking for some advice.
I’m about six months in as an FO at an LCC. Overall, it’s been an okay place to work. The people have been great and the flying is different and enjoyable, but the biggest challenge has been the quality of life. Between a transcon two leg commute/difficult base to get to, and the uncertainty of not having a union contract, it’s been challenging in some respects. The schedules we’re assigned don’t really help the commute either.
Before taking this job, I also accepted a CJO at a wholly owned regional with flow that just so happens to have a base where I live. It’s on the senior side, but it’s attainable after about a year. My long term goal has always been to end up at a legacy or other major, so I’ve held onto that CJO. The problem is I’ve been waiting almost six months for a class date with very little communication from their recruiting. Every time I check in, I get the standard “no updates at this time” response.
So if that class date eventually comes, what would you do?
If I stay where I am, I’m already building seniority and averaging around 85 block hours a month. My seniority has already improved quite a bit and is expected to continue improving over the next several months. If I leave for the WO regional, I’d be starting over at the bottom. I’d still have to commute for a while, but there would be a realistic path to eventually holding my home base and guaranteed flow to the legacy mainline.
The commute is the biggest factor. I knew it wouldn’t be fun, but I didn’t have many options for my first part 121 job and took the first class date that didn’t require a training obligation/contract. I can make my current situation work if it’s the better long term move, but I’m trying to be smart about where I invest my time for the future.
For those who’ve been in a similar situation, would you stay put, build time and seniority, and apply to the majors when you’re competitive, even if it means putting up with the commute? Or would you still make the jump to the WO if the class date eventually came through?
Curious to hear how others would approach it and why. Thanks.

Ok I'll be straight, I've always wanted to go into a cockpit before a flight and say "I just wanna tell you both, good luck, we're all counting on you". I only haven't done it because I'm worried I'll just make them confused.
How would you, as an airline pilot, react if a passenger did that?

I’m curious if anyone has any neat ways for a spouse to track your trips while you’re gone? I’ve seen the flight wall, and it looks promising. I’d love to have something where I can load my flights in ahead of time and then it pops up on some kind of tracker for them to monitor. Does anyone have any good recommendations?
Edit: I used Flighty on my most recent trip and my wife loved it. We’re going to stick with that. Thank you all for the recommendations.

Hello all,
Incredibly blessed with the opportunity to start with Delta pretty soon. And I’ve seen a lot of debate on seniority progression of 73 vs 320 but how does seniority progression on the 220 stack up against these? I am trying to work my way to SLC or SEA long term since it’s the best commuting option but to start out I can also pretty easily do MSP commuting for a while. Ideally I’d like to have good seniority progression so I can get to the base I want and commute to a decent line versus trying to commute to reserve.
Thank you for the insight.
