Rumour / Leak Rumour/Leak Megathread

It seems the whispers from the aetheric void are back and so we are going to continue to have everyone post the rumours/leaks here to avoid screenshots of TGA forums taking over the subreddit.

Any rumour mongering not in this thread will be removed.

Discussion The Dice are not the Boss - a strategy guide for Age of Sigmar and Wargaming

I've written a guide targeted at intermediate warhammer players: folks who can build a functional army list and execute a basic gameplan, with a firm grip of the core rules and their army rules. I hope it can be a resource for any players who feel like they've hit a strategic wall, or ask themselves why they lost that last game (or even why they won it!). I've shared this locally and received generally positive feedback. It's 11 pages, which is a moderate time commitment, but I think a lot of people interested in this hobby may also be the type of nerd to dive 11 pages into improving their gameplay.

I hope you enjoy!

What paint did they use? I though averland sunset shaded with skragg brown but I don’t think that’s quite right. I feel like there is a trick to this I have yet to figure out.

Discussion What do you think is the biggest barrier preventing people from getting into the Age of Sigmar lore?

One of the most common criticisms I keep seeing is that the AoS setting still feels too vague and underexplored.

Overall, I agree with that, to a point. The lore has grown tremendously over the past ten years, but there are still plenty of blank spots. What I discovered, however, is that once you dive into the Black Library novels, a huge number of those "mysteries" disappear. The Mortal Realms become far richer, more coherent, and far more interesting after you've read several novels.

The problem is that, for almost six years now, GW has stopped translating Age of Sigmar novels into other languages. They are released almost exclusively in English, and I feel that this lines up with the declining interest in the lore (not the game itself) outside the English-speaking community. If only English speakers can easily access and discuss the deeper lore, it inevitably limits the reach of the setting.

For comparison, most 40K novels are translated into multiple languages. The old Warhammer Fantasy novels were also widely translated, which helped make those settings popular around the world.

So, for me, the biggest obstacle to the popularity of AoS lore isn't the setting itself, it's its accessibility. I actually think the lore is excellent (even if I wish we'd spend less time in Aqshy and explore more of the other Mortal Realms). The novels are what truly flesh out and explain this universe, and I think they should once again be translated into multiple languages so that more people can experience what makes the setting so compelling.

First time painting four minis all at once in an assembly line style where you deposit paint on one and move to the next. Cool experience. Let me know what you like or dislike about them. Cheers.

Discussion What would you guys think of and AoS "Tide" game?

I'm a big fan of the Fatshark tide games, from Vermintide 1/2 and Darktide, and I've always been curious how a game in the AoS setting would feel. Like who would the enemies be and the main group of characters?

I've been thinking that the main cast (in my dream version of the game) would be made up of:

-A kroxigor as a full melee character with a skink on his shoulder, who you could tag enemies with so that he would shoot blowdarts or bolas at them (similar to Arbites dog and Skitarii servo skull).

-A Cities of Sigmar dwarf with careers that could branch into Fryeslayers and Kharadron Overlords (basically Bardin I guess lol)

-An elf mage with careers that you could use as Idoneth, Lumineth or Sylvaneth.

And for enemies, I think the Soulblight Gravelords would be perfect. They've got hordes of zombies and skellies for chaff, barrow guard as mid elites, blood knights on foot as heavy hitting elites, necromancers and dire wolves for specials, and vargheist and werewolves for monsters. Plus, it would give the other "evil" factions a chance rather than another chaos faction.

What would you guys want?

Edit: (P.S. I also want Vermintide 3 I miss the Ubersereik 5)

I completed these two weeks ago, I couldn't decide on a base design. Went with the good old sprue paved base with a bit of grass growing through the gaps. 10 months into my painting journeys

I finally picked up some units to build my spearhead into a full 2k point army to learn bighammer but I'm 110 pts short of a full list. Any suggestions for swaps or auxiliary units are welcome! I've never played a full game so there's a lot I still need to learn.

Discussion Narrative Play

So i asked in the 40k reddit because i was curious about how to play the game in a narrative way to really feel the game to game story happening and unfolding so im also curious of the same thing in aos, is there any official rules or guides or books similar to that of the 40k crusade kind stuff that helps you make your own narrative campaigns over several games.

Question I don't know wich death army would suit me better

So I want a death army, but I'm doubting which one would fit me more. I know I wouldn't like the Flesh-eaters aesthetically, so they are out.

I am pulled in to the idea of just resurrecting stuff so the bonereapers or gravelords because of the skeletons. But the nighthaunt look good as well.

Right now I own all dwarfs (around 2K per army) and really like them. So i would like to do something different. I would like to keep summoning some infantry to bog down and then charge in to kill. What would fit me best?

The gravelords overwhelm me in their rules and models, they are so many.
The bonereapers look good, but look really hard to paint.
For the nighthaunt i heard that they suck at the moment. (but still look good).
I can't choose; maybe i get them all in due time, but I have to start somewhere. What would you recommend?
