Whenever I press the power button, the logo pops up for a few seconds and then everything goes black. If I wait, fans start to spin fast too.

Question ASUS ROG Strix G16 G615LP (Ultra 9 275HX + RTX 5070) — Performance Issue Occurring Only in Games, Persisting Until a Restart

Upvotes

I’m experiencing a strange issue with the laptop I’ve been using for a year, and I wanted to ask if anyone else has encountered it. This problem has reached the point of driving me crazy. How can I resolve this?

The Issue: In CPU-intensive games like CS2 and Project Zomboid (mostly CS2, but occasionally others), after playing for a while, I experience severe stuttering and input lag, even though the FPS appears high. Strangely, the issue never triggers when I run a heavy stress test on the same processor; it only happens during gaming. Once triggered, even if I exit the game, the CPU temperature gets stuck at 60–70°C on the desktop (whereas it’s normally 50–60°C), and the fans speed up accordingly. It doesn't resolve no matter how long I wait—only a simple restart fixes it. Tests performed so far: After triggering the issue, I ran Cinebench 2026 and logged data with HWiNFO without restarting; then, I restarted and repeated the same test. The score difference was 5300 vs. 7350 (a 28% difference). (The normal single-core score is 527; after the issue occurs, it drops to 160.) Interestingly, while in the "bugged" state, temperature and power consumption were actually lower, yet clock speeds were higher—meaning this isn't classic "thermal throttling"; the CPU runs at the same speed but performs significantly less work. I also captured separate HWiNFO logs while idling on the desktop (in both bugged and normal states). The difference is stark: CPU power consumption is 12.2W in the bugged state versus 5.8W in the normal state. The rate at which P-cores enter the deep sleep state (C7) is 83.7% normally, but only 2.2% when bugged. In other words, the cores fail to fully shut down even at idle, generating excess heat and power consumption.

I tested it using the Intel Processor Diagnostic Tool in both the buggy and non-buggy states, and it passed in both instances. Locking PL2 to 55W initially solved the problem completely, but it stopped working over time; the issue now triggers even when the limit is applied. Possible causes I'm considering: It isn't classic thermal throttling (PROCHOT) or a PL1/PL2 power limit issue; neither of these shows up as triggered in the logs. The data points to a "stuck" state within the CPU's EC/VRM subsystem (voltage/current management) that doesn't reset without a system restart. I’ve also ruled out Windows-side issues (powercfg shows no active "stay awake" requests), so it doesn't appear to be a simple software or service problem. None of the BIOS or driver updates provided a permanent fix.

Laptop ASUS ROG Zephyrus stuck at ROG logo / sometimes no display - keyboard blinking Need Help

Hi everyone,

I'm facing a strange issue with my ASUS ROG Zephyrus.

Initially, the laptop suddenly showed a black screen while trying to use it. I force-shut it down by holding the power button for around 15 seconds.

After that, pressing the power button only turned on the keyboard/backlight, but there was no display at all.

I left the laptop unplugged overnight. The next morning, it powered on and showed the Republic of Gamers logo, but it got stuck there. The keyboard LEDs kept blinking, and it never booted into Windows or BIOS.

I force-shut it down again, and now it's back to the state where the keyboard lights come on but there's no display.

Has anyone experienced this exact issue? If so:

What was the root cause?

Was it the SSD, RAM, BIOS, EC firmware, motherboard, or something else?

Were you able to fix it yourself, or did it require service?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Laptop ASUS ROG Strix G16 Laptop issues

I don’t normally post on here (this is my first post actually), which goes to show how frustrated and confused I am with this laptop right now. When I went to turn my laptop on, it would boot up normally and turn to the logo screen. It would sit there for maybe 2.5 minutes while the fans are running loudly, and then just shut itself off. I have no clue what’s going on. I’ve tried doing a hard power reset by unplugging the power adapter, holding the power button, and turning it back on. I’ve tried unscrewing the back and checking out the hardware, I’ve tried removing the battery and using just the power adapter to run it. None of it works. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Monitors ASUS ROG XG32UCWG vs XG32UQDMS, which is the better choice?

Trying to decide between the Asus ROG XG32UCWG or the XG32UQDMS.

XG32UCWG:
- 32 inch 4K 165HZ or 1080p 330hz
- WOLED
- Glossy Finish

XG32UQDMS
- 32 inch 4K 240hz
- QD-OLED
- Semi-Glossy Finish

Trying to determine which one to get and which I would like better. I have a have issue with OLED monitors that look washed in SDR and HDR modes and especially HDR monitors that still look super dim. I play in rook that gets self Windows light and some light from one lamp during the day, and then at night it’s just the lamp. Which do you think has the better HDR and doesn’t looked washed out, or are they both good and then it’s just 165hz vs 240hz?

Laptop Duo 16, BT mouse and built-in keyboard stopped working.

The Bluetooth stopped working twice before but I was always able to get it working again. But now the keyboard is not working as well! I've rebooted, run the troubleshooter, I'm at a loss right now. The lights work on the keyboard btw, but that's it. Also, when I look at the windows device manager, there is no Bluetooth device either!

I should add that everything stopped working while I was working on the laptop.

Question ASUS ROG Strix G18 G815LR Freezing Issue – Anyone Else?

I've been dealing with an ongoing freezing issue with my ASUS ROG Strix G18 G815LR since the day I bought it, and I'm wondering if anyone else with the same model has experienced something similar.

I've followed every recommendation from ASUS Support, including updating Windows, the BIOS (current 338), firmware, drivers, and completing all of the troubleshooting steps they suggested. Unfortunately, the freezing still happens. On average, I have to force shut down the laptop at least twice a day.

I don't use it for gaming at all. My workload is mainly Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator and Acrobat), web browsing, and general office work.

Laptop specifications:

  • Model: ASUS ROG Strix G18 G815LR
  • CPU: Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX (24 cores / 24 threads)
  • RAM: 32 GB (2 × 16 GB SK Hynix 5600 MHz)
  • SSD: 2 TB ADATA LEGEND 710 NVMe
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti (12 GB) + Intel Graphics (2 GB)
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro

During the warranty period, I contacted ASUS Support and was told that, because there wasn't a repair centre in the UK for this model, the laptop would need to be sent to an overseas service centre. I rely on it for work, so I kept trying to resolve the problem myself instead of sending it away.

Now, just a few days after my one-year warranty has expired, ASUS has told me that any repair or further investigation will be chargeable.

To be honest, I'm really disappointed. I paid a lot for a laptop with these specifications, yet it's been freezing from day one and it's becoming increasingly difficult to work productively.

At this point, I'm considering doing a completely clean installation of Windows and installing only the software I actually need, just in case there's something causing a conflict.

Has anyone with the same model (or similar specifications) experienced random freezing? If so, did you ever find the cause or a permanent fix? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Question Свист и высокий гул помпы в сжо ASUS ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB Extreme

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
