Can Aircraft/ships spoof the AIS tracking? ie could a military aircraft show up as Easyjet plane on Flightradar etc.
And same for a warship, show up as a cruise liner on Vesselfinder etc?

Is it possible to identify a specific military helicopter from Dec 12, 2020? It was carrying either Trump or Biden. It was over the Hudson River, near Bear Mountain Bridge. Between noon - 3pm. Thanks.

Anyone willing to DM me their UUID? I need to send it to someone to get a free app. Thanks!

I kept hearing a low droning sound one way and back over and over. I found the cause, and then found a bunch more. It's not uncommon to see one or two with PAX, Andrews, Dover, Norfolk all right there, but I haven't seen an eclectic bunch of 6 at the same time like this before.
( I'm not suggesting it's uncommon, I just haven't noticed it before, easy to miss when it's in the middle of the night. )

What is this plane up to? It has been showing up the past few nights.

Just watched this weird little thing fly over me. Pretty cool, I've never seen one!
Hey all,
Long time lurker, first time poster. I've got a Raspberry Pi5 with a Radarbox SDR and antenna running adsb.im so i'm able to provide data to multiple aggregators. I'm currently feeding flightradar24, flightaware, airnav radar, radarbox, adsb exchange, and a few others.
The antenna is mounted on the side of my house at the peak of my roof (about 25' up) with no obstructions and run an inline filter.
My average range is about 135nm, with max around 190nm. I understand height of my antenna is king but unfortuantely I cannot go any higher without attaching an antenna tower to my house, which is not going to pass the better half test.
I've been reading about active antennas and the airspy mini and was wondering if replacing my current SDR and antenna would help increase my range without having to increase my height?
Thoughts?

Quick follow-up to my June post here. Overflight, the app that shows you the aircraft visible from your current location, shipped on the App Store today: https://dgrlabs.co/g/ocstcd
Mostly I want to say thanks. The app runs on community ADS-B data (airplanes.live), and every aircraft it identifies is there because somebody in this hobby put an antenna on a roof. The beta had testers in 27 countries, and the coverage quality in places I expected to be dark was honestly humbling.
For transparency since this sub rightly asks: I've been developing and shipping software for 30+ years and yes I used Claude Code to help develop this. But I hope you'll agree that it's anything but some thrown-together AI slop app. I've put a lot of work into this and hopefully that shows.
The app is free to use, and there's also a paid tier that includes route lookups, spoken traffic, interesting inbounds, and an always-on mode. Route data is licensed commercially (it's the one marginal cost per lookup), and the sub is what keeps that sustainable without ads or selling anything about you. No tracking, no accounts.
Not going to pitch harder than that here. If you want to get into the weeds about how any aspect of the app works, I'm around in the comments. (I messaged the mods asking for permission to post this a few days ago but I never heard back.)

This is a concept of a Samsung frame tv like picture frame to be a flight tracker. Most likely hooked up to a pi 4 1gb ram with a 7 inch screen. The soft ware will be locally picking up ATC data with my own antennas but I have not decided if I'm going to use an api or my own antennas for adsb data. When a plane is talking the program zooms into it and shows the transcript of the 122.8 audio. When not in use it becomes a picture. (Al Mockups)

While following the alternate AF1 to Andrews AF Base. Figured I would click on the base to see if it would show any incoming or outgoing flights. Of course it showed no incoming, but it did show 2 outgoing from earlier. This being one of them. A commercial jet heading to Guantanamo Bay. Just found that to be interesting, I’m sure it’s nothing.

The alternate AF1 is out and about Sunday evening. Just left Newark Airport. Curious if the Pres is on it right now.
