First things first, what is your budget and what kind of music do you want to play? And does your budget include the 7 string?

I have my eyes on the shecter pt7 sls elite, but I’m looking to spend no more than 500 dollars on an amp. I’ve been playing jazz for a while now, and I’m very interested in playing metal and prog tunes

You could maybe look into a modeler of some kind. There are a handful that run about 500 bucks, assuming USD. If you want a lower cost option, you could pick up an interface and try an ampsim. I really like Neural DSPs ampsims but they tend to be a bit more expensive. If you want something more plug-and-play, Bogren has a series of Ampknob ampsims that are super simple to use and all the ones I've used sound great.
