Accuaracy issues

Got a 14.5 DDF Noveske barrel and it shoots like shit 100 yard zero 2 moa groupings with a one flyer every grouping shooting 108gr ELDM. Sad to say i bought the chainsaw complete upper second hand on tacswap. The previous owner said there wasn’t even 100 rounds through it. I inspected the barrel upon arrival and barrel looked gtg. Cleaned the barrel before taking it out and i was highly disappointed. Ive seen mixed things on the noveske barrels some people say it takes a couple hundred rounds for them to tighten up. Do i ditch the barrel and go with a proof or should i wait it out and see if it tightens up lol

GFR FRT Compatibility

Has anyone tried to ss cut their GFR-E trigger? Wondering if it will work with an arc fire. It’s a slightly different design and I wouldn’t t want to cut it and not have it work.

Bolt gun chamber

Is there any kind of standardized bolt gun chamber out there?

I recently picked up a lightly used pre-fit barrel for my CDG... 26", 7 tw, MTU profile, yada yada. Seems like it should be fun to tinker with. But... a Berger 105 BTHP hits the lands @ 2.280" OAL. Which got me wondering if there's anything better out there, or if everyone is just running a plain SAAMI chamber, even for the bolt guns not limited by AR mag length?

12.5” 6 ARC bullet choices for deer hunters

What are you all that deer hunt shooting out of your 12.5” 6 ARC’s? Looking for something that will expand in a controlled manner out to 250 yards or so with the shorter barrel. Thanks for any experience you all have with the shorter barrels and deer bullets.

Craddock RTR Marks in Rifling

Got my Craddock RTR 6ARC barrel in and because I'm an idiot I've already installed and bedded it before looking with my borescope.

I'm new to the precision side of the AR game so I wanted to check if this is ok to try some groups with or if I should reach out to craddock. Is this just a nothing burger and I should just send it?

Pics are posted in order from closest to chamber to towards the muzzle. Definitely more noticeable marks at the beginning and then is basically gone at the muzzle. Craddock says these are all hand lapped so presumably the lapping process cleaned up the marks.

I don't think I've ever seen marks this heavy in any of my barrels before, and none of those were really precision oriented. My Criterion looks much better so I don't know if they have great lapping or this is just a poor example.

18” barrel and 15” rail. For those of you wondering about potential clearance issues. I’ll have to take the can off to adjust the block tho.

Title. Haven’t seen anything on them since they were officially announced a month ago. Wondering if anyone put a rifle together using them.

Traded for a 6 arc upper. The 16” barrel turns out to be a parkerized chrome lined 1:8 twist. So I slapped a SA AGB on and tuned it with a JPSCS running 1 tungsten, 2 steel weights, black spring. Ran 40 rounds through it and did this 20 shot group with hornady 108gr eld match.

Now, admittedly its not my best bench shooting. I think i need to raise my sights a lot to get into better position on the gun. And i ran the 20 shots continuous for the whole string at 3-5 seconds per shot. It started out throwing flyers in the circle pattern then settled in to the tight area and then toward the last couple of rounds flyers started again. Puts out an average 2435fps.

Have no idea who makes the barrel. Its only marked with 6 arc 1:8. No other identifying features.

CGPT Says:

A 0.61” mean radius for a 20-shot group is very good for a gas gun, especially a 6 ARC AR-15.

Mean radius (MR) is the average distance of every shot from the group’s center, and it is generally a better measure of precision than extreme spread because it uses all shots instead of just the two farthest apart.
As a rough conversion:
Mean Radius × 3 ≈ Extreme Spread for many normally distributed groups.
0.61” MR × 3 ≈ 1.8” ES for a 20-shot group.
That’s not exact, but it gives a useful comparison.

A 0.61” mean radius over 20 rounds suggests the barrel, ammo, and shooter combination is capable of roughly 0.6 MOA radial precision, which is outstanding for a practical gas gun.

If the center cluster represents what the rifle normally does, and the outliers can be reduced, the overall 20-shot group could shrink dramatically.

One final thought: a 0.61” mean radius from a chrome-lined 16-inch barrel is impressive. Most people only post their best 3- or 5-shot groups. A 20-shot MR tells a much more honest story, and yours suggests the rifle has genuine match potential once the reliability issue is sorted out. [i was using cgpt to walk through agb tuning and was having jams; 2 clicks in on agb cured it]

My assessment
For a 16” chrome-lined 6 ARC gas gun shooting factory Hornady 108 ELD-M, I think you’re already seeing the rifle’s potential. A 0.61” mean radius over 20 shots is not an average result—it’s a strong indication that the rifle, barrel, and your shooting fundamentals are fundamentally sound.

Final Form? I think??

I’ve been having so much fun with this new (to me) caliber, I finally decided to do a proper build for it and not just a spare parts one.

The upper is still the same, so Aero, 18” Odin barrel, Cherry Bomb with Trash Panda. But swapped it to a 15” BCM handguard, True North hand stop, CMC BCG, and a BT10 Atlas bipod. Even threw in some of those Magpul MLOK pop in rail covers to give it some texture.

But I picked up a new BCM lower for it. Kept the RA-535 trigger (I won’t lie, I’m a fan of them), Super 42 and H2. Put a Luth AR precision stock on it (my first one, digging it so far), and a Magpul grip.

I have thought about upgrading the Vortex Venom 5-25 to something bigger, but I think I’m liking it as is. If I do anything to it, maybe an RMR on a 45° or something, but I don’t really think I’ll need it for anything. This thing is light enough where I could run and gun at a PRS match with it if I wanted, and don’t want to ruin that.

My ridiculous, beautiful monster. Just needs a muzzle brake/supressor, and probably better glass. And of course, I need to get decent at shooting it.

So let's talk build:

This is a Henry lever action supreme, converted by line49rifle into 6Arc, with their medium weight match 16" barrel, with flash hider.

RPP forend and pistol grip with picatinny rail.

A3 industries ALM folding stock

Vortex DB tactical 4-16x44 scope, on a burris QD cantilever mount.

BOG arca rail and infinite deathgrip tripod.

She shoots and cycles wonderfully. Hopefully, I get good enough to pist some groupings soon because my current ones are trash, and im certain that's me

Faxon MATCH-X 20" 6 ARC

Positive range results from two new builds. Palmetto State ICAR build in battle rifle asthetic and a standard mag well build heavy with fixed stock.

Both posted good numbers this weekend at the range trip to get them zeroed. ICAR lower with 1-8 Strike Eagle LVPO, SPR build with an extra Arken I had on the shelf, 4-16 SH4. Both posted near MOA with factory loaded Hornady 108gr ELD-M.

Only negative from the trip was neither wanted to cycle with the A5 system using a Sprinco Rifle Green. Both did cycle with Dead Air Lazarus 6 attached. Gas system is rifle length and port is per factory specs at point 085. I'll be swapping them both to a Tubb Flatwire spring to see if that improves cycling unsuppressed.

I can list full build specs if desired, but didn't want to make the post stupidly long.

I'll be doing some load development with a few powders to see what it likes to eat best. I have some 80s, 105s, and 108s to play with and several hundred brass.

I know faxon is on the budget side of the list, but the Match-X is different from their match offerings. It's hand lapped and honed and I think the results are better than my previous match barrels with them. I'd definitely give their Match-X offerings a second look if you're considering one.

Edit: The research that I did on the short cycling revealed that some had found success with Tubb Flat Wire Springs. It was said the closed bolt force was improved, but that the spring pressure was reduced during the intermediate time on its way back to rear. This proved correct on both rifle systems and reliable cycling was had unsuppressed with the A5 length tubes and both VLTOR A5-H0 or interchangeably with PSA "Carbine S5 Buffer" (both weighing 3.8 Oz and identical in length)

6ARC Conversion

New to 6mm arc, I understand that 5.56 and 6mm are very different rounds and cannot be shot out of a 5.56 upper, however, all I would need to do is change the barrel and BCG to make this happen right? Or is there something else I am missing.

My very first 6 arc rifle and I think it came out pretty sweet. I had some inspiration from some users on here and they were great with all of the messages. I ran by them lol. But it’s basically an LMT upper and lower with a 14.5 proof barrel with the mrp conversion done by D.Wilson. Cat Noah inconel suppressor and NX8 2.5-20 mil-xt scope. Very happy with getting it built up now all there’s left to do is get me a thermal and start slaying some pigs. Eventually, I do plan on putting an acro piggyback in the 12 o’clock position, but my pockets need to recover.

Barrel length

I’ve been thinking about putting together a 6 ARC AR15, I’ve seen people hit targets at 1000 yards with 14.5 inch barrels, but how short is too short? I like short, handy, rifles, I currently have a 7.5 inch 5.56 SBR (there are special forces teams using about that length barrel, so I don’t see an issue with it), and I just “finished” a 7.5 inch bufferless AR9 (yes, it takes Glock mags). I’m sure y’all can see a pattern. To get this out of the way: I know 7.5 inch is way too short for 6 ARC, I just want to know what the minimum barrel length is for the round to still be useful.
