I made chia seed pudding (with vanilla extract and maple syrup) and it tastes like I am eating grass gloop? How are you all making chia seed pudding not taste like lotion?

$4 each bag. They're both really good (of course nothing will beat birthday cake). I like the lemon one better. Reminds me of lemon pound cake from Starbucks.

i used lots of zf sweetener, some cocoa fyi
but i used 180g unsalted planters peanuts
200g pbfit
splash of immitation vanilla
one cup sf maple syrup (maple groves)
salt
and a cup of unsweetened almond milk
approx 2100 kcal
around 30 2tbsp servings for it, so its 70kcal per 2tbsp
tastes identical consistency wise, texture wise, and flavor wise to store bought natural peanut butter, not really skippy-like.

For context, I’m 5’2”, 136lbs, 31f and my goal weight is 126lbs.
I moved from SoCal to AZ and working from home to 4, 10hour office days. I was pretty active before I moved and would go on walks and hikes and CorePower classes and was active ~4x/wk.
My day now starts at 5:30am and I’m not home till 6:30pm. I have a 1.5hr roundtrip commute. It’s impossible to go for any walks bc it’s entirely too hot. Because I’m up so early, I’m also hungry sooner. I usually start my day with a coffee with a splash of milk at 7am and hard boiled eggs at 9am and try to have my lunch at 12pm but usually I cave and have it earlier around 11am. I have a yogurt and some sort of small snack like a protein bar and by the time I come home, I’m starving. I can’t think straight and the thought of working out is impossible at times. Luckily my husband has dinner ready, usually chicken and rice with some veggies. B/c I’m home so late, I miss all the late CorePower classes. Once in a while, I’ll go to one at 7pm but then I have no part of the day left and I’m exhausted.
I miss who I was and I feel like my odds are stacked up against me to lose these 10lbs. Since I can’t workout as much, I know the key is to eat less in the office but it’s so damn hard. On the weekends, I’m recovering from my long week and do try to hit maybe one yoga class but I know it’s not enough. Quite frankly going 3 days back to back of hard workouts to makeup for the week is not sustainable for me. I’m miserable in this schedule and miserable in my body.

While I can have eggs and dairy in moderation, I can't eat them every day without triggering my IBS. It seems like every low calorie, filling breakfast includes dairy or eggs. Cottage cheese, egg wraps, yogurt, etc. I try nondairy yogurt, but it is often super high in fat and sugar and doesn't have any protein.
I feel like I so often eat breakfast at 9am and then I'm hungry again by 11, so I'd love for suggestions of things that will keep me full longer!

Cod 320 (with butter and chives)
Potatoes 270
Gravy 70
Mushroom 30
Hot sauce 0
Ice cream 210 (protein ninja creami recipe)
Sweet potato 185 (I like it just with salt, not pictured once I cooked it and had it with the applesauce and eggs)
Applesauce 173 (could've done with less but I wanted to finish the container and make space in my fridge)
Eggs 120 (boiled eggs with hot sauce and salt)
Total: 1378
I know 1378 is over 1200, this can easily be modified by not putting a bunch of butter on the cod but it was a premade take and bake that came with butter so I'm allowing it today lol.
This was all super satiating and fit perfectly into my 19:5 IF schedule.

general: 16F, 150 pounds, 5’5
I’ve been eating 1200 calories a day (sometimes less) for the past 6 months, with no idea that it might’ve been bad for me. these amounts ranged from 300-600 below my bmr. I thought this was what i had to eat to lose weight, but i can admit i was a little impatient.
Has this done any damage to my body? and what should i change my deficit to or do from here on out to still lose weight? (if i should even be tracking at all)
i’ve upped my calorie goal to 1500 a day but i still don’t know if that’s even enough.
i’m not sure how the rules work for minors in here, but im genuinely lost and i don’t really know what to do, because i’ve been stalling at 150 for about 2 months due to finally having the low calorie intake catch up to me, and since i lost 30 pounds, im nervous to up my calories/not track because i’ve never really taken a different approach before 🫤

I love it when I can get a 10:1 calorie to protein ratio! The lighting doesn’t really do the tomatoes justice, but garden tomatoes with a little bit of olive oil and salt are so delicious. I usually make a caprese with mozzarella and basil but here is what I had on hand and it hit the spot.

Im pretty sedentary as I work in an office and sit down for 9 hours + 1.5 hr commute each way. Which means i get barely enough time to hit the gym (when i do, i aim for the elliptical to burn 500 cals in an hour). I get around 5k steps a day from walking home and have been struggling with food noise more than when im at home despite being busy.
With 1200, i feel like i have 0 energy even with caffiene. For ref im 5,3 and 143lbs/65kg. I typically have protein with carbs plus fruits as snacks, starting the day with a unsweetened matcha latte

the only changes i've made is going from basically sedentary to 5-15k steps a day. the only 2 theories i have on why this is happening is the change in exercise routine and the amount of sodium I consume but the excessive sodium isn't really anything new in my diet. I stopped drinking for the last week in case that was causing it. any thoughts?

whoever posted the pro tip of mixing regular rice and half riced cauliflower is a GENIUS!! you get the texture/flavor of the rice, while massively upping the volume and nutrients with the cauliflower! so grateful for all the great tips from this community to make things easier 🙂↕️
rough recipe (2 servings)
~330 cal per serving
ingredients:
2 tsp sesame oil
2 eggs
12 oz riced cauliflower
1 cup minute rice (i had jasmine in my pantry)
1 carrot, diced
1/2 green pepper, diced
1/3c frozen corn
1/3c frozen peas
soy sauce
fish sauce
ginger juice
method:
1) with 1/2 tsp of the sesame oil, scramble eggs. set aside
2) with another 1/2 tsp sesame oil, cook carrots, pepper, corn, and peas until fork tender. set aside.
3) with the remaining sesame oil, cook riced cauliflower and minute rice on high heat, letting some pieces stick to the bottom and get crispy
4) add back eggs and vegetables. while on heat, season rice with soy sauce, ginger juice, and fish sauce to taste!

I love the options. It’s actually a reasonable size. My favorites are the lemon angel hair with shrimp or the crispy chicken sandwich with sriracha mayo. I usually sub the salad for green beans or asparagus:) Plus a tropical iced tea for no extra calories

This is my go to on days where I need to feel FULL without blowing my caloric budget! I’ve struggled my whole life with ignoring fullness cues and emotionally eating well past comfort, so I promise this will actually make you feel Finished eating instead of just bare minimum satisfied. My version with no extra extra low cal swaps and very conservative estimates on the oil comes to ~450 kcal, but with all low cal swaps (zero cal sweetener, spray oil, fat free cheese, lean ground beef/lite Impossible beef) it comes to ~370 kcal :)
Ingredients (makes lots of leftovers):
2x medium sweet potatoes
12oz ground beef or Impossible beef (can sub lean or lite versions)
1x large onion
1x 15oz can black beans
2x avocados
6oz Casa Martinez barbacoa simmer sauce
Minced garlic, to taste
1 tbsp, heaping, brown sugar (can sub zero cal sweetener)
Shredded cheddar (can sub low fat or fat free)
Pollo asado seasoning
Lime
Hot sauce (optional)
1 tbsp avocado oil (can sub spray oil)
The base is 1/3 of a sweet potato (~120g), lightly mashed. I use red garnet sweet potatoes and roast mine in the oven, skin on, for about an hour and fifteen minutes at 425F/220C but you can do whatever you like!
The next layer is seasoned ground beef and onion. I use a large, diced sweet onion and a package of Impossible beef, but the light Impossible beef or a 90/10 real ground beef would lower the calories even a little more. I always season it well with Lawry’s pollo asado seasoning and brown it very well. Onion first though to get the excess water out before the meat goes in! I put ~85g per serving.
The third layer is saucy black beans! I use a standard 15oz/425g can of drained and rinsed black beans, roughly half a jar of Casa Martinez barbacoa sauce, minced garlic to taste, more pollo asado seasoning instead of plain salt, and a heaping tbsp of brown sugar. Again, you could use a zero cal sweetener if you’d like, or nothing sweet at all, but I think it adds something and makes it taste more like takeout burrito black beans. I use ~70g per serving.
Once I have my layers, I top with 1/4 of an avocado (~30g), lots of lime juice, hot sauce, and an oz/28g of shredded Tillamook sharp cheddar! You can use low fat cheese, but I think full fat is worth the calories since it’s not very much. If you keep one higher cal option, please pick the cheese!
If I listen to my hunger cues, I’m very full but comfortable after this meal or I don’t even finish my plate! It’s been a lifesaver for me and I almost always have it once a week!

Y'all, if you eat poultry, eggs, and gluten, do not sleep on avgolemono. I know it's not soup season, it's hot as all get out where I am, but it was still worth it.
Sautee chopped onion in a teeny spritz of oil in a small saucepan (I did about half cup - my scale broke) for a bit, stirring. Pour in 2 cups chicken broth for one serving. Bring to a boil. Add in half a serving of orzo, cook for 8 minutes (I mostly cover the pot so I don't lose too much of the liquid). Lower heat, add in shredded chicken breast (either rotisserie or if you have leftovers from something else, or can quick poach or broil; tonight I had to use rotisserie thigh meat so it was a bit higher in calories). On the side, whisk up an egg. Drizzle in lemon juice while whisking (I usually start with half a lemon). Once the heat on the soup is low enough it's not longer bubbling, scoop a ladleful or so of soup and pour slowly into the egg/lemon mixture while whisking to temper the egg. Then pour that back into the pot (making sure it's not boiling very important!!) and stir for 3-5 minutes to bring the egg to temp but not actually cook any solids out of it (sometimes I'll get a little bit of white that cooks solid but whatevs). Salt and pepper to taste and add more lemon juice if you so desire (I almost always do, I like it very lemony).
You get a pretty sizeable bowl of creamy, warm, lemony goodness for reasonable calories, a good amount of protein, and it barely takes any time at all. Tonight it was 420 cals, 33.2 protein (with breast it would be more like 370 calories 36 g protein or so).
It's so damn good and quite filling. Sorry no pic - I wanted to eat it.

I love slicing cucumber, adding salt and a little vinegar instead of having crisps!
I have low energy from health issues so the easier the better, thank you <3
