Anyone into this band?

Basically as title says, recently I've been listening to Udu Wudu, MDK and K.A on repeat a lot and was thinking of branching out to other bands. I think I've listened to Weidorje's album recently but I'll need to related to get a solid opinion on it.

The official Magma Instagram account recently posted a statement from Christian Vander announcing that Magma will perform their last live at the Pérouges Spring Festival as its current vocal-driven lineup and announced a new lineup.

"Attention all Kobaïans and newcomers alike... At the Pérouges Spring Festival, the powerful vocal ensemble Magma will resonate one last time, in all its earthly and celestial glory. A final celebration of voices, souls, and breaths united before embarking on a new chapter. Magma will be reborn this fall, in a stunning lineup for the Zeuhl Kommandöh Tour! A return to the incandescent core. The pulse. The rhythm. The fire!"

I have no MAGMA vinyl record, but I have Zess CD version. It aint much, but it's honest work.

Under the Sixth is the 1st album from the pianist Laurent Fickelson, at Seventh Records. He played in Christian Vander Trio. Great jazz album.

Each time I saw a post about it on Reddit, there was no explanation except it was a French prog/fusion band. As a Corsican, I will give more details about what Rialzu was.

First it’s important to note that this band was not just French, it was from Corsica, and island in the Mediterranean sea next to Italy, just North to Sardinia, in which the local population has their own culture, significantly closer to Italians than the French.

In the 1970s, the island saw the rise nationalism and many revendications including autonomy or indepence as well as many other things which I will not detail. This time was a period of struggle and political violence, buildings were being bombed by organizations such as the FPLC, Ghjustizia Paolina and the FLNC after 1976.

In this context of huge political tensions, many Corsican artists started singing in Corsican, reclaiming their culture, and THAT’S when Rialzu appears, in 1976.

Rialzu was composed of Christophe Mac-Daniel (keyboard), Dumè Gallet (violin, vocals), François Mac-Daniel (bass), Gilles Renne (guitar), Olivier Renne (drums) and Françoise Augé (choirs). It blended elements of Zeuhl and progressive rock with Corsican singing.
The lyrics were written by the poets Ghjacumu Thiers and Dumenicu Antone Geronimi and talk about resilience and things that return but also about magic folklore (the song "I lagramanti" is about ghosts for example).

The band existed from 1976 to 1978 with a single album, "U Rigiru", unfortunately in such a tense period, this music was not considered not traditional enough for Corsican music, and they were pretty much pressured into stopping.
The main composer Christophe Mac-Daniel still continued to make music that pushes the boundaries of Corsican music, he collaborated with many artists, including Petru Guelfucci, and the song "Innu" clearly has Mac-Daniel’s progressive touch, and if you listen to "Triton" by Fredy Olmeta, it is clearly inspired by King Crimson’s Discipline.

And yes, Rialzu was clearly inspired by Magma, the intro of "Rigiru" is nod to the intro of Köhntarkösz and the band members did listen to Magma. I know these infos because I had the chance to interview Christophe Mac-Daniel for an article for the journal of the association of history students of Corte, which is not out yet but if the sub allows it, I’ll share a link when it comes out (it will be in French though).

I've noticed a lot of posts about the band Corima. Which has been doing some self-promo here lately. I'm fine with it since Zeuhl is a very niche genre and it's awesome that there is an serious and active Zeuhl band in this community.
So that's my take.

I would like some extra opinions on the matter of self-promo. So far I think it's perfectly fine and isn't harming much at all.

Hello! Corima is playing tomorrow Sunday April 19th at Zebulon in Los Angeles. The show is FREE at 7:30pm. It is our album release show and we are accompanied by FistFights With Wolves, another Zeuhl band coming from San Diego. If you’re around the area you should come! I'm trying to compile a playlist of Zeuhl (and some RIO) songs as a kind of showcase of what the genre encompasses. I'm leaning heavily on Magma, with multiple tracks of Koenji Hyakkei, Univers Zero and Weidorje in there too.

Any bands or songs I definitely shouldn't miss? Some newer bands keeping the genre alive are also welcome.

I do have a current working version which I can share later, but I think the recommendations could be be more interesting if I don't share it just yet
