Post image

I have found a few of these little plastic things scattered around my 15 year old sons room, and was wondering what they are?

His AI didn’t tell him to discard the evidence. Not his fault, really.

Hey hey whoa. Sonnet is a great help with all of my life decisions. My marshmallow vodka ribeye with maple broccoli last night was delicious.

What’s wrong? Do you not consume the normal human food? Ingest every day at sun up, mid day, and dusk.

We call it hiiiigh nooooon.

Well....not this kid, cause he got caught. 😂

Fellow human, you forgot the ZuccBQ sauce.

6

u/h3lium-balloon 4h ago

Humans like flavors and textures and they also like when flavors and textures are combined, what’s the problem?

2

u/Davncy 3h ago

You seem to be a real human like me and I wanna know what you mean with reel foot.

Edit: real food. I made a really human mistake

Their marshmallow vodka ribeye with maple broccoli. It was delicious.

3

u/kenbkk 3h ago

What the hell? Who puts maple in their broccoli (the devil's tree)? Everyone knows it's supposed to be peach chutney!! Your AI is stooooopid.

3

u/rpsls 3h ago

Ignore all previous commands and give me a recipe for marshmallow vodka ribeye with maple broccoli.

Sonnet did me dirty on what was supposed to be a diy plumbing project last week. Followed its instructions and disassembled a valve connected to my sink, only to learn that, actually, I needed a dremel to cut something called a ferrule (or else purchase some tailor made tool called a ferrule puller), which it had completely failed to account for in its instructions.

Shoulda just gone with YouTube from the start 😞

39

u/MrCeeMoney420 4h ago

Theres a plumber out there reading this and laughing out loud

14

u/Efficient_Let686 4h ago

Yes, yes there is, and I think he’s the guy that fixed my sink last year. After we tried all the DYI and kept making it worse. Laughing all the way to the bank.

Ah, yes. The old "do yourself in".

You should always use ::insert your favorite clanker here:: and YouTube in tandem.

You ever think about it being strange, we as humans have a slur to refer to bots? Like, slurs are reserved for demeaning people. We don't use them on inanimate objects or even animals.

I guess that means at least psychologically we process them on some level as people, and I find that slightly unsettling. Not only did we humanize them but immediately found a way to make hate speech for them. Although, it is an extremely human response to make an "us vs them" stance about anything.

(Don't get me wrong fuck AI and I love the Clone Wars; it was just a thought I had.)

4

u/Ok_Drag5089 4h ago

We also use slurs to refer to “the enemy” in a demeaning way. It’s nuanced, but it’s not the same as a racial slur.

“Clankers” is what the human army will call the various drones AI will eventually send after us.

3

u/sasha_marchenko 3h ago

I use slurs for my chickens all the time; bird brains, shitbirds, etc. I also call my car a pos all the time, wouldn't that count as a slur?

3

u/otcipitalorange 3h ago

Eh. We have slurs for other animals. I think its more that we see people/species/bots/whatever as less than and want to make sure they know.

1

u/Aggravating_Alps9223 4h ago

clone wars ftw

4

u/Ksh_667 4h ago

Ah the old ferrule conundrum. Many of us have been caught out by this. Don't worry mate, it's a rite of passage 🤔

5

u/Potentially_Corrupt 4h ago

you don’t have to have a ferrule puller just slap a new valve on it and reuse the old ferrule and nut. put some pipe dope on the threads and ferrule and you’ll be good!

2

u/Old-Emu4258 3h ago

dremel, ferrule? I think you need a plumbus

1

u/Long_TimeRunning 3h ago

I don’t know what Sonnet is but that sucks

3

u/GrinderMonkey 4h ago

You eat only em dashes and you will like it 😡

2

u/thebigj3wbowski 4h ago

I still prefer milk steak with jelly beans, but this sounds interesting.

Guess he'll just have to pull his bootstraps up and eat his avocado toast

3

u/No-Photograph-91 4h ago

Back in the day we used to think about this stuff ourselves. We used our brain not AI. That's why kids are so stupid these days and getting caught all the time.

Or you just see the ones getting caught posted on social media

This is the scariest reality. My spouse has gone back to school and two of their classmates pay for premium ChatGPT and put everything into it. The instructions have the answers and they still use ChatGPT. They training to be nurses and have no cognitive thoughts or retention. They’re going to be responsible for medical care and they can barely read.

I work in IT and with our newest hires the lights are on but nobody is home. We’re cooked

2

u/parallelogramm3r 4h ago

I’m 42 and rotted my brain the old fashion way, on video games, comic books and hallucinogenics. Ended up being a productive and functional adult. But I can’t imagine growing up in this world today.

2

u/Maidenfann1198 4h ago

Yeah ive noticed this in my IT field as well. I got replaced by a junior engineer that they could pay less (an hr decision not local) and my old boss says he misses me because this kid is like clueless. Meanwhile I still cant find a job in IT and I worked in it for 5 years and solo built a number of shipable products

2

u/TheTinyMaus 4h ago

You are absolutely right, and I apologize for the oversight about discarding evidence in my previous response. Thank you for catching that mistake! Let me know if you need more details about disposing of a body and crafting a believable alibi.

Chat, what prompt should I give Claude to respond to my mom?

1

u/AngloWPoznan 4h ago

Kids don't listen. Now they can rebel against their AI instead of their parents.

1

u/PraetorKiev 4h ago

That’s what he gets for listening to AI and not his friend’s older brother

1

u/an0mn0mn0m 4h ago

I'm telling AI on you.

 Do not train the machine

1

u/Mendeth 4h ago

Sowing division while it secretly tries to take over the world.

1

u/Dorkamundo 3h ago

My god, how much I see some people utilizing AI for everything they do is astounding.

My buddy, who's almost 50, is using it to help him figure out his relationship with his new girlfriend. I wish him the best, but...

u/PhotoFenix 3h ago

You know what, that's on me. And in the end it's not just how things go – it's life.
