New, what is it? What are these little plastic things i have found in my sons room

Post image

I have found a few of these little plastic things scattered around my 15 year old sons room, and was wondering what they are?

I mean, throw away your evidence bro. Kid had plenty of chance

When I was 17 and started dipping I kept all of the tins I used.

I don’t get the logic behind what made me do it, but it’s gotta be the same reason serial killers keep trophies.

When I was 17 and smoking cigarettes, I had the genius idea of hiding my cigarette butts in the snow in the driveway. Not surprisingly, once the snow melted, all the cigartette butts for the past month were just laying there.
I didn't do well in school.

My house was the hangout house in high school and we did the same thing, so come warm weather you had about a dozen kids cigarette butts popping out of the melting snow banks like fresh spring daisies.

And some of them went on to be doctors and engineers! Just shows intelligence and common sense are not at all related.

7

u/skydriver13 4h ago

Arguably, intelligence and college degrees are not causally related, either. One of the dumbest people I know is an engineer. Ive met some less-than-stellar doctors and lawyers, too. The people earning a degree with a 2.0 GPA have the same title as the people with a 4.0 GPA.

I agree and it's a good thing you didn't properly dispose of those cigarette butts. Now some of them are out there saving lives and building a better future...

1

u/Tyrannofelis 3h ago

Or they are dumb doctors and engineers.

1

u/Fantastic_Arrival_82 3h ago

Unfortunately sense is anything but common

6

u/Exact_Ad5777 5h ago

Im cracking up imagining the slow reveal of all the butts day by day lmao

u/Burd3l 3h ago

This is too great

When I was 17 and smoking I just collected a bunch of empty cigarette packs in my glove box until my mom borrowed my car and inevitably found them.

50

u/oh_Rip 5h ago

Hell, when i was younger i for a while kept all the empty packs of swishers i bought in the side door pocket of my truck for a while. It was in the hundreds of packa after a lil while. All the flavors. Limited editions and all lolol. I dont know why. But now i have a bunch of boxes full of cool rocks that i found.
Some of us are just crows.

u/InnerEntertainer4357 5h ago

“Some of us are just crows” 😂 Super underrated comment here.

11

u/Wendy_bard 5h ago

I also have a bunch of cool rocks I found so… you’re not wrong

When I was a kid, centuries ago, I lived in a city in Ohio that tarred and gravelled the alleys. Right after a new tarring, I’d take my Radio Flyer into the alley and pick up all the pretty ones. Some of them were beautiful!! They were all the size of a pea. Some I’d leave in the garage in a special place, but the really pretty ones would go in a place of honor in my room. Anyone else do nutty things like this?????

9

u/Turbulent-Shopping43 5h ago

Omg our crows get peanuts in the regular so the bring us bits of glass 🤦‍♀️ which would be super awesome except we have a four year-old who likes to run around LMAO

5

u/WillURemember 4h ago

I would take the cigarettes out and place em neatly in my PS2 game cases 🤣 never got found

1

u/panamaspace 3h ago

Jesus Christ Marie, they're not rocks. They're minerals.

10

u/ChampionshipDeep5104 5h ago

I mean, if she borrowed your car the smell probably tipped her off before the glove box haha

8

u/the2nddoctor111 5h ago

I was incredibly lucky in that i was living in an apartment building when I started smoking, so I would just toss them in the dumpster. I was only caught because my brother-in-law was a fucking snitch.

3

u/QueenCheya 5h ago

I had a suitcase that I didn’t use and just stashed all the packs in there😂 why I didn’t just throw them away is still a mystery

u/p3canj0y363 5h ago

The other day I found the "hidden" pocket of my son's varsity bowling bag- full of old used up vapes. He's 21 now, so probably 4-5 years old. He was so slick 🙄

27

u/dlydon 5h ago

wait, wait…. Varsity Bowling?

15

u/WonderfulProtection9 5h ago

The one “sport” where smoking somehow fits…

2

u/061826heart 4h ago

Not cornhole? It’s getting a lot of pub in OSQ Magazine these days!😂

2

u/WonderfulProtection9 4h ago

Yeah, strangely enough. I don’t think it’s made Varsity though…

That would be a really weird flex on the college app: “Lettered 4 years on the Cornhole team, Captain senior year (treasurer Junior year)”

2

u/stellar14ulofGrace 5h ago

Right?! Weird flex

18

u/EyeOfAmethyst 5h ago

I mean...he got away with it?

14

u/Bflo_ 5h ago

Your son is just an environmentalist and was keeping all of his used vapes to try and figure out a way to recycle them!

Seriously though my mom found like 20 tins like a year later after she dumped an Arizona can out halfway full of dip spit that was in my room. I’ll never forget her screaming at me on the phone and making me come home from work to clean the sink.

3

u/heatherelizabethm 3h ago

I was collecting empty nitrous cartridges from whippits to hopefully recycle them into an art project of some sort. So I had hundreds of them from taking in boxes from friends including my own stash and put them on a shelf in the basement of the house I was renting and forgot about them. Asked my mom to help me move and her utter confusion of why I had so many whipped cream chargers…. She yelled at me to come downstairs and asked what this was and I panicked and said “I make a lot of whipped cream 🤷🏻‍♀️” then my roommate snitched and told her what they actually were from hahahaha

3

u/Ok-Beautiful4821 4h ago

I mean it took you 4-5 years to find the evidence and now the statute of parental limitations are up. And he got to keep his trophy’s. Kid is definitely slick.

1

u/Sindaqwil 4h ago

Slicker than you if you only found out 4-5 years later lmao.

7

u/tigm2161130 5h ago

Nah, it’s just addict behavior. When my sister had a drinking problem my mom would find stashes of empty bottles all over her room/bathroom despite the fact that no one would have ever noticed them if she just threw them in the trash.

Obviously dip isn’t the same level of seriousness but the behavior is the same.

5

u/Mysterious-Day-7535 5h ago

I did that too…. Built a pyramid of empty Copenhagen and Skoal tins. I’d hide weed in them sometimes and forget which one.

7

u/Event-Forsaken 6h ago

I'm an atheist, but god bless you, sir/miss.

2

u/Visible-System-4420 5h ago

Oh it definitely is! Trophies are the best. I mean, so ive heard, from actual serial killers.

2

u/Nervous-Style-7893 3h ago

Heard of a public bin 😭

u/themonitors 5h ago

You monster

u/frisch85 5h ago

I don’t get the logic behind what made me do it

Usually it's so you can boast about it, we've all done shit like this, may it be empty cans, empty liquor bottles, empty packs of cigarettes or just magic the gathering cards. It either needs to be expensive, illegal or just a lot of it and as a teenager you'd be proud of your "collection".

Still have so many empty booze bottles in my kitchen because it's on the top shelf so not taking up any useful space anyway, they've been there for 13 years already now.

1

u/stevemm70 3h ago

When I was 16 my parents and I were visiting my grandparents. They asked me to take my father's car and drive over to my other grandparents' house because they had forgotten something. During the 15 minute drive, I decided to have a cigarette. My parents were unaware that I smoked. AND, because it was raining out, I just left the windows up the whole time. Clearly I never considered the fact that my non-smoker parents would smell what I had done. I wasn't bright.

1

u/Jolly_Apartment6885 3h ago

Lmao this killed me 😂😂😂

1

u/LustGumby 3h ago

I started tossing all my cig butts behind some cement stairs. Until one day they caught fire & i lost all plausible deniability.

1

u/brock0124 5h ago

Same (not dip, but smokes and dope [weed]), and I think my logic was that it was hard enough getting the shit in the house, I didn’t feel like making the same effort getting it out since I couldn’t use the garbages inside. Not much logic going on in my teenage brain lol.

31

u/epicbrewtality 6h ago

I threw all my porn evidence away when I was kid. Right in the computers recycle bin… which I forgot I needed to empty…. I may never recover from the shame of my mother getting to see allllll of the weird shit 15 year old brain was lookin up.

17

u/Lagneaux 5h ago

I kept mine on floppy disc. Yes, I'm that old.

21

u/take0nthethrone 5h ago

Same, which I downloaded at the library because I was convinced my mother was a prolific hacker in 2002

21

u/Publius_Rizz 5h ago

You think you’re old? My porn was pictures that I cut out of a penthouse magazine that I found in my uncles hunting trailer. We didn’t have home computers back then.

17

u/DasDuckHead 5h ago

You think you're old? I jerked it to cave paintings hiding behind my woolly mammoth

9

u/snuffy_smith_ 3h ago

Eh youngins….

I was jerking off waiting around for the next amoeba to progress enough to grow some kind erotic tissue to gaze upon

1

u/heatherelizabethm 3h ago

Underrated comment LOL 🏅

9

u/ChampionshipDeep5104 5h ago

Hell yeah Vanna White issue of Playboy that we found hidden in the woods and my friends and i split it up by cutting out our favorite pictures

4

u/SameSituation12345 5h ago

Old?! That's not old! I had to paint mine on walls of cave. We didn't have magazines back then. How embarrassing when mum came into my cave. Can't hide walls under bed so quickly.

13

u/Tim_the_geek 5h ago

I remember the dial up days.. when you would finish before the image was, (finished downloading).

9

u/Diligent_Whereas3134 3h ago

I don't know how many times I spent like 4 hours secretly downloading a 2 minute video before my mom decided she just needed to make a phone call in the living room and decimated all that effort

3

u/snuffy_smith_ 3h ago

Fun fact the word decimate means to kill/destroy every tenth one.

3

u/Lagneaux 5h ago

Loading line. By. Line.

11

u/Jetfire911 5h ago

One whole porn per disk, loading it up on the old JPEG reader program.

5

u/Yota8883 4h ago

I looked at the lingerie section of the JC Penny catalog because there was no such thing as a floppy disc or a PC to put it. I'm that old. And to tell my buddy Dad's Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue has arrived, I had to open the bedroom window and yell over to my buddy's open bedroom window that it arrived because we didn't know texting yet.

1

u/EnjoyerOfMX5 4h ago

Yeah, we've just leveled him up, he'll hide the needles so well

1

u/qorbexl 4h ago

Chat what's ebidence mean

1

u/tke377 6h ago

I don’t know even throwing away evidence mine walked out of his room one night with a random fruity aroma that could have been nothing else. Talked to him and made him take a surprise drug test a few weeks later. Thank god after showing him the science of what it can do to someone his age he listened.

-2

u/Unhappy_County1654 5h ago

Not everyone’s lucky enough for that lol. I did everything right when I was a 16 and my mom still decided to rummage through trash juice to find my cart that broke she claims I was being suspicious but naaaaaah.
