Volvo Cars, which spent the past year reshaping its U.S. portfolio into an all-crossover lineup, is weighing a return to midsize cars with a pair of electric models.

The Swedish automaker is studying a midsize sedan and station wagon that could arrive in U.S. showrooms in 2028, a person briefed on the discussions told Automotive News

The electric models would carry the familiar 60- or 70-series badging and be built in Europe. A rugged Cross Country variant of the wagon also is possible.

Both models would ride on Volvo’s versatile scalable platform architecture, or SPA3, which debuted on the EX60 crossover and uses advanced 800-volt architecture for quicker charging.

Expectations would be modest; Volvo believes the vehicles, likely to start in the low $50,000s, potentially would generate incremental volume of only about 10,000 sales annually in a challenging U.S. EV market.

Volvo is considering the idea while also planning to expand at the higher-volume end of its U.S. lineup. In 2029, the automaker will introduce a three-row utility vehicle larger than the XC90 to compete with luxury flagships such as the Mercedes-Benz GLS and BMW X7.

Someone at my office drives this mean looking Volvo T60! I love how much it looks like a shark with the mean aggressive low stance and the gray color, it makes the yellow calipers pop.

In 1972 my best friends parents bought this 510 wagon new off the lot to bring him home from the hospital. Fast forward a dozen years and it sat parked on his mom’s driveway after his dad passed away suddenly. My father became his father figure and we were raised like bothers constantly floating between each others houses. When he was 15 his mom said he could have the wagon so we went to work getting it back into shape. We put a used motor in it and one of his dad’s friends owned a body shop and put a pain job on it. He drove the car for the next few years until heading off to college.

He had the car running and driving off and on at various times throughout the years. We’ve stayed in touch despite living 3 time zones apart and a couple years ago he was visiting me and said “I should ship you the Datsun. My kids don’t want anything to do with it and it’s just sitting there. I’m going to ship it to you, do something with it.”. Here it is in my shop in Ohio after arriving from California. Let the workbegin.

Hi! We are thinking of purchasing a Audi A4 allroad, preferably a B9 2018 model year. Because I’ve seen people saying the benefit including a facelift, CarPlay and overall reliability improvements from B8/B8.5 which are previous 2013-2016 model years.
And the price is not as expensive as newer model like 2020 and up…

We are wondering any owners could share their experience with the car, especially in maintenance area and how’s the reliability in general.

My 2003 E320 Wagon - best dog hauler ever! got tko'd good my Hurricane Helene. No saving it but it did start even after we got the huge tree off of it.

Buddy sold me a clean garage queen 240D. Manual, sunroof power windows. Just under 200,000 on the clocks.

Decided to donate my E320 wagon to a local independent Benz repair shop. I got the stuff out off of though - first aid kit, rubber mats, snow ice shield, etc.

Happily it all fit very nicely in the 240D. Additionally my bride sold her 2016 Subaru Forester and her rear plastic cover was in the basement when she traded it. I tried in it in the trunk of the 240D. Fit perfectly! Nice way to keep the old girl tidy.
