Meta [Announcement] New rule for Generative AI jobs and added known scams to the Wiki.
Hi,
For a long time I have wanted to add a rule about what is and what is not allowed regarding AI projects in this community. I have finally added the rule 8:
Rule 8: Only certain types of AI work offers are allowed:
No AI training to generate voices of any kind is allowed.
However, Speech-to-Text may be allowed if you disclose the voices will be used exclusively for that purpose. We understand people with disabilities may benefit from these technologies and so we aren't completely against such projects.
Basically, only speech recognition projects are allowed.
>Hey Google, turn off the garage's lights.
>Hey Google, call mom.
>Siri, where is the closest restaurant?
>Alexa, send text message to boss: I can't make it to the premises today.
>Copilot, I said open Youtube, not burn my house.
--
Known Scams
I have also added a list of known scams to the Wiki. Please read them so you are aware of them.
https://www.reddit.com/r/VoiceWork/wiki/index/
Don't forget to report any suspicious user or proposal.
--
Audio samples
Don't forget that it is allowed to link to your website where audio samples are available to listen to easily. Don't report posts that have links to personal portfolio websites with audios clearly accesible.
--
Thank you everyone for helping keeping this community clean and safe.

Meta Voice artists, read this before posting. No one is going to HIRE YOU if you don't include a demo reel in your post.
Every week I have to remove around 10 to 20 [Hire Me] post because they don't include a demo reel.
INCLUDE A LINK TO YOUR DEMO REEL IF YOU WANT TO GET HIRED! (yes, I'm screaming).
Upload your demo to Soundcloud or Youtube. Or share a link to your personal website where demos are found, and before posting remember these rules:
- Rule 4: State a rate. All [Hire Me] posts should include a sample rate. It can be something as simple as "$10 USD for a 2 minutes Youtube narration. For other projects we can discuss the price." The important part here is that the potential clients have some idea of your rates. If it's a kid with $5 dollars for a minecraft video and the least you charge is $20 USD, it would help both parties to know this beforehand, so we don't waste anyone's time.
- Rule 7: Add audio examples. As I already mentioned. You don't hire a graphic designer without checking their portfolio, you don't hire a digital artist without looking at the pictures they have created. No one is going to hire a voice artist without hearing their voice first.
If you don't currently have a demo reel, create one! Write a fictitious script of two or three people fighting, crying, or doing something, and narrate it.
Write something cartoonish, with characters doing silly stuff and record your most cartoonish voices.
Write something like a documentary or business-like tutorial and record it.
If you are having problems imagining scenarios, pick your favorite book and read one page that includes dialogues or different situations. Pick a non-fiction book and read using your business voice.
Less recommended but something that can also help you with your first demo: Transcribe a couple minutes from a cartoon, anime, movie or TV series and then record yourself voicing it.
Potential clients need to hear your voice in different settings, show them why they should hire you!
Please, voice artists, add demos.
Thank you.

[Hire Me] English - USA Accent 32M Looking to Lend My Voice!
voice123.comHello, I have never done this before, but here I go. I am a resident of the state of Georgia in the US and I'm looking to share and lend my voice to whatever project you're doing (must be SFW). I have been live sightreading and adding character voices to unvoiced video game characters for most of my life and I've also been singing since I was four years old, so I can also add that to the character if it is needed. I have strong, high-percentile reading comprehension and enunciation skills and can speak fast if necessary as well. I can do some varied accents, mostly British or Australian (I am better at British) and I am working on learning Scottish and Irish. Doing the accents on the fly is much harder than just sightreading and adding them to the words being spoken, which I find much easier to do for some reason. My upfront rate for a 2-hour minimum session is $450. Each hour afterwards is an additional $150, up to a maximum of six hours, equaling $1,050. To compensate for extended sessions and to protect my voice, any required time that is over six hours, but under ten hours, is multiplied by 1.5x per the $150 hourly rate, equalling $225. Any work over ten hours is multiplied by 2x per the $150 hourly rate, equalling $300.
I don't know how to share a file here (or it just won't let me) so instead I've attached to this post a link to my Voice123 profile, which contains a collection of samples I made. The samples are live unedited authentic voice-over sightreadings of on-screen unvoiced text of characters from the video game, Hollow Knight: Silksong. I added the personality to the characters based solely on their appearance and how I think they would sound. The samples consist of conversations between Hornet, the main character, and various NPCs she meets on her journey. I swap between the voices as needed depending on who is speaking on screen at the time. There are twelve samples in total.
Let me know if you're interested via this post or a DM! Thank you for taking the time to read this!

[Hiring] Other quick turnaround gig?
Hello folks,
{EDIT} This job has been taken. There's a lot of great performers here, I really appreciate everyone who reached out!
Would anyone be willing to record a short text preceding a dance performance? I am pretending to be a clown and need a reader who can nail the comedic side to this. ***This text does include some adult jokes and references just for clarity before taking the gig :)***
I have a sample recording that my girlfriend did but unfortunately our accents sound very similar (to those who know us lol) and it is not quite the right vibe. I would be splicing it into a song and along with some sound effects.
I would prefer to have someone with a lower voice to do this for contrast to the musical track, lower alto voice or a tenor would be great.
It is about a page and a half of reading, maybe about 2 minutes of reading all together. If you're able to add a very slight crackle like a record player into it that would also be super cool, but absolutely not required.
The performance is this Saturday. I know it is a quick turnaround as I was unsure if I would need another recording.
I am able to pay a flat rate of $40-50 depending on what you see fit on Friday and offer my tip split after the show if needed. I have multiple means of payment I can discuss and offer. I cannot pay the full amount until Friday BUT could do a small deposit to show I intend to pay if it would make a difference to you (i am broke af right now my apologies but want to compensate fairly).
This did not take us long to record for a sample like MAYBE an hour of practicing it and putting it together so I imagine it wouldn't be bad with decent equipment. I just need the recording with pauses and similar ish timing to the original track and I will splice it with everything else myself.
i know it is a quick turnaround. we did not anticipate needing to rerecord but it isnt working well with outr sound system. i would be happy to work with you and would appreciate this deeply, if anyone is interested i can send them materials to look at.

[Hire Me] English - USA Accent [FOR HIRE] Female voice actor: motherly, professional, boss, teenager, older female child. Almost 6 years of active voicing experience! Games, animatics/animations, podcasts/audio pieces, storyboards, original comics...
Can also adapt to Transatlantic, General USA Southern, and British Received accents. Hi, I'm Christina, a non-union voice actor of 6 years! I've been on both sides of acting: self-directing, being directed, and directed others. Offering all sorts of creative voicing here: original comic dubs, animatics, animations, video games (indie etc), YouTube narration, voiced storyboards, audio dramas, podcasts, etc.

I also enjoy narration and commercial work. Currently, I volunteer to read online math coursework for elementary students, so I enjoy educational-type work, too.
My software has been custom set for my voice with a chain in Audition and Izotope, so I'm solid for my audio to meet ACX's professional standards.
Content Advisory Note:
I'm open to almost any game that's fairly clean (G/PG occasional PG-13 depending on why). No f bombs, b----, a--, d--m, etc; no gratuitous violence, nudity, racism, or vulgarity. I'll review any project to give you a proper response.

[Hiring] Movies / Series / Animation Casting Call –Male Background Outlaw Voice Actors (Paid)
Good morning, hope everyone is doing great.
I'm currently looking for male voice actors to voice several background outlaw characters for an upcoming Western animated project.
At this time, I won't be going into much detail about the story itself, as I'm primarily focused on filling these background roles. Most of the dialogue consists of combat shouts, commands, battle reactions, and general chaos during action sequences.
I'm looking for energetic performances, so don't be afraid to really commit and bring intensity to your reads.
For the audition, you're welcome to choose any variation of the provided lines that you'd like to perform. Please note that if you're selected, the final role you receive may not necessarily be the variation you originally auditioned for.
Compensation:
$20 USD for each background role.
An additional $10 performance bonus may be offered based on factors such as overall performance, turnaround time, and whether the lines can be completed without the need for
retakes.
While these are smaller roles, I regularly produce larger projects. For future productions, my rates typically range from $100–$200 USD, depending on the size and scope of the role. I'm always looking to build long-term relationships with reliable voice actors and would be happy to reach out for future opportunities.
Below are the available line variations for each role. Feel free to choose whichever variation best suits your voice and performance style. Once you've completed your recording, simply send it back to me for review.
Outlaw A — The Commander (barking orders, keeping the line organized)
"FLANK LEFT! MOVE, MOVE!"
"Hold your positions, don't bunch up!"
"Somebody get eyes on that ridge, NOW!"
"Cover him, COVER HIM!"
"Fall back to the treeline, go!"
"Watch your crossfire, watch it!"
"Reload! Somebody cover me!"
"That's the sheriff! Take him first!"
"Hold the line, HOLD IT!"
"Get that man some suppressing fire!"
Outlaw B — The Shit Talker (loose, mocking, enjoying the chaos)
"That the best you got, cowboy?!"
"Y'all rode all this way for THIS?!"
"Hey Sheriff! Your mama know you out here playin' hero?!"
"That's embarrassing, boys, real embarrassing!"
"I've seen scarecrows move faster than you!"
"Bishop's gonna be real disappointed in y'all!"
"Ain't nobody comin' to save you now bitch!"
"Haha you shoot exactly how you look!”
"Was that your best shot? My grandmama shoots straighter with her eyes closed!"
"Keep comin'! I got all night asshole!”
Outlaw C — The Fearful Type (cracking under pressure, panic rising)
"Oh god, we're pinned down, we're pinned down!"
"There's too many of 'em!"
"I didn't sign up for this shit, man!"
"I'm hit, I'M HIT!"
"We gotta get outta here, we gotta go NOW!"
"I can't see him, where'd he go?!"
"Please, I don't wanna die out here!"
"This ain't worth the money, this ain't worth it!"
"Somebody help me, PLEASE!"
"I want out, I'm done, I'm DONE!"
Outlaw D — The Taunter (colder, more personal, aimed at getting under the crew's skin)
"How's it feel, Sheriff? Watchin' your boys drop one by one?"
"Bet you wish you never came out here."
"That one's for your pretty boy friend!"
"You can't save all of 'em, Fraizer!"
"Keep comin'! I got somethin' for you!"
"You're gonna watch every last one of 'em go down!"
"Bishop said you'd come. Said you couldn't help yourself."
"This is what happens when you don't know when to quit!"
"Ain't so tough without that badge doin' the talkin' for you!"
"Should've stayed home, Sheriff!”
At the moment, my priority is filling these background roles as quickly as possible.
If you're interested, please send your audition or any questions to:
Thank you, and I look forward to hearing your work!

[Hiring] YouTube / Social Media [Hiring] Looking to hire voice actors / also a vtuber host for a paranormal YouTube channel.
Hello there. I hope this finds you well. I’m looking to hire voice actors for a paranormal YouTube channel. I’m looking to start a series on my channel where it’s voice mails / voice messages from paranormal witnesses . I’m looking to fluff it out until I can get some non scripted ones coming in. I’m willing to pay 50$+ for budget wise for each one. I’m also looking for someone to voice the vtuber host for this. I wanna mix things up. I have the vtuber model. You don’t have to supply a model for this. I was gonna voice the vtuber myself but I just don’t have host energy in my voice. Actually doesn’t even have to be a vtuber host. I just really need a host for this. I’ll pay 100$ - 200$ for that every two weeks when I get paid at work. Send me a message on here or email me at [email protected]

[Hiring] Non-English 🎙️ Hiring a Voice Artist | $40/Video | Hindi Faceless Documentary Channel (Pre-Launch)
I'm launching Bina Chehre Ke — a Dhruv Rathee / Nitish Rajput-style channel but faceless. Covering politics, business & social issues in Hindi/Hinglish. Channel is currently in pre-launch production — looking for a voice artist to build the voice of this channel from the ground up.
⚠️ This is a dedicated voiceover role. I'm hiring a separate Scriptwriter for research and writing — please apply only if narration is your specialty. Not considering applicants without prior, relevant experience.
Deliverables (per video):
→ Narration for 7–8 min documentary-style scripts, recorded as one continuous take following the script's exact order
→ WAV file, uncompressed, clean and consistent levels, no background noise
→ Serious, authoritative tone — engaging, not monotone
→ Comfortable narrating English names/terms embedded naturally in Hindi sentences
→ Consistent voice across episodes — this is a recurring role, not a one-off
→ A few seconds of silence at the start and end of the file
What I give you before every recording:
→ Final script
→ Voice direction / tone reference
The deal:
→ $40/video (7–8 min narration)
→ 1 video/month to start, grows with the channel
→ 2–3 day turnaround | 1–2 rounds of pickups/retakes
→ Full rights to the recording transfer to the channel upon payment
→ Work begins ~2 weeks after selection (channel is pre-launch)
→ Hiring process: shortlisted by portfolio/voice reel → trial round where I'll send a short portion of a script for you to record, and we'll decide based on the result
Must have:
→ Prior, proven experience doing Hindi/Hinglish voiceover work — this is not an entry-level opportunity
→ Real, live-recorded human voice only — no AI-generated or voice-cloned audio
→ A voice reel with at least 2–3 samples of past narration work
→ A clean home studio setup capable of professional-quality, noise-free audio
→ Documentary/news-style narration specifically — entertainment/gaming/vlog-only voice reels won't be considered
📩 Reach out to me: [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) — please mention which role you're applying for.
