There are all in a tiny photo albumin.The first one is actually my 5x Great grandmother the rest I am unsure of who they are as only she was labeled in it. I know they were taken in Atlanta, GA. Sorry they are so dark in person they are less so. I think they were taken over time though and not all at once as the fashion seems to vary a bit.

31F | UK | Hoping to find others who genuinely live a Victorian way of life (1855–1870)

This is perhaps one of the more unusual introductions you will read today, but I thought it was worth asking.

I am a 31-year-old woman from the United Kingdom, and I regularly travel between England and Scotland. For many years I have lived, as far as reasonably possible in the modern world, according to the customs, manners, and spirit of the Victorian era—particularly the period between 1855 and 1870.

This is not simply an interest or an occasional hobby for me. It is my everyday way of life.

I dress in Victorian-inspired clothing every day, practise Victorian etiquette, and consult nineteenth-century etiquette books whenever I wish to understand how a lady or gentleman of the period would have conducted themselves. My speech is naturally rather formal, though I do simplify it when speaking with people who might not understand older expressions. When I am in Scotland, a few Scottish words naturally find their way into my conversation.

My hobbies are almost entirely those of the nineteenth century. I love reading Victorian literature and poetry, embroidery, sewing, cross-stitch, keeping a commonplace book, journalling, and writing with a fountain pen. Around 95% of what I write is set in the Victorian era, whether historical fiction or stories inspired by that period.

I enjoy preparing traditional dishes such as homemade soups and stews, listen mostly to classical music and old gospel hymns, and I read my Bible every day, copying a verse into my journal as part of my daily routine. My Christian faith is an important part of my life, though I am happy to get to know people from other backgrounds who are respectful of it.

I have even created a course of study for myself inspired by Victorian home education, including copywork, journalling, commonplace writing, literature, poetry, and other forms of self-improvement. I find great joy in learning as a person of that period might have done.

What I am hoping to find is someone who genuinely lives in a similar manner. Not someone who simply enjoys dressing up for an event or has a passing interest in Victorian history, but someone whose everyday life is shaped by the values, habits, and pursuits of that era. Someone who truly enjoys living quietly, courteously, and intentionally.

Friendship, correspondence, or whatever may naturally come of such an acquaintance would all be welcome. My preference is to meet people in the UK, Scotland, or Ireland simply because it makes visiting easier, but I would be delighted to hear from like-minded people anywhere in the world.
