Need new ear pro

Upvotes

Okay my first match is coming up and I'd like to step up from my basic Walkers electronic. They are fine when I use them at the range and I double up, but I'd really like a new pair with really good stereo audio that don't require foamies outdoors.

I'm okay spending up to $150, I'll go a bit higher if it's really worth it.

What ear pro are you using?

WY Gov Match - Stage win down to 91% just like that. Lesson learned, keep your slide and optic away from port sides 🙌😆

14 matches in and feel stuck. What should I focus on?

My 14th match: https://imgur.com/a/cCcNsig

I started shooting competitions July 2025 and have done about 14 matches so far. I feel like I’m stuck between C and D class right now. I just bought my USPSA membership, so I haven’t been classified yet.

I really want to improve. I get into my head a lot when I’m shooting, so I think that’s part of what’s holding me back. I’ve been recording all my runs so I can see what I need to work on. I know I’m way better than when I first started, but I want to keep improving.
Based on my video, what do you think I should focus on the most?

Are there any bad habits or inefficiencies you notice? If you were coaching me, what would be the first few things you’d have me work on?

Getting Started: Mandatory class for $100?

Just getting started and have yet to shoot a match. In contacting some local clubs, one responded with info about their 8-hour class that costs $100. They didn't specify that this was mandatory but the language in the email implied that it was. Is this a thing? I can't find any info - seems sus.

EDIT: Thanks, everyone. Your insights have been super noob-friendly. Good crowd here.

Athena precision

Does anyone have the current Athena precision magwell with the combat cut for the gen 6 Glock 17? What mag extensions are you guys using? I’m using the strike industries mag extensions and they aren’t fitting.

The “wall” stage

The stage briefs said “all walls are 5’9”” or something similar. I clarified, that even if that “wall”(the mesh) is not 5’9”, just because you say it is…. It is? I was told yes

Factory direct USPSA targets, waitlist on the first batch, feedback welcome

I run a family owned corrugated packaging plant in Georgia. I noticed we already sell these USPSA spec targets to a handful of shooting target companies, so I took the time to set up my own ecommerce store to sell direct to ranges and shooters instead. Most targets pass through a few resellers before they hit your range. I cut that down by selling straight from the plant that makes the board.

https://wholesaletargets.com/

200 lb test corrugated, B flute, A/C/D zones die perforated, not printed. No USPSA license yet, so I'm calling it  spec accurate, not official.

No inventory built up yet for direct sales, I'm collecting names before committing material to this side of it.

If you buy these in volume for a club or a match, I'd genuinely like to know what you pay now and whether board quality or price matters more to you. Link's below if you want to look or leave your email.

This is my own project, not a plug. Wanted to say that upfront.

VSBELT - Seeking feedback and gauging interest

Post image
17 Upvotes

Hey folks, I’ve been working on this project of mine for about three years and I think it’s time to lift the veil and open it up to more people now that the patent application is out.

This all started when I started shooting about three years ago - most people in my local league were running a competitor’s belt and I realized that I had the skills to make something better. VSBELT is that. No more velcro.

While it isn’t live yet, several of us in the community have been running a VS. I am looking for a few more individuals to get involved in the project - Founders, if you will. If anyone’s interested, there’s a teaser and notification sign up at vsbelt.com

I’m happy to answer any questions you all might have about the belt.

First two stages crushed me. I never shot anything like this before and still wasn’t confident on my stage plan when I heard stand by beep lol. If anyone watches I am open for some constructive criticism and some recommended dry fire drills to help improve on the criticisms. Fundamental stuff obviously needs improvement, faster draw quicker mag changes and indexing. Poor stage planning had me moving super slow with low confidence. Last stage was a decent run for my current skill level and I posted another stage in a different post that I thought I ran mostly well. Besides that I think the biggest things for me to focus on are movement and vision focus. I can do a decent static reload but terrible while moving. Then I am slower to get the gun up for the next position and when I do I was fishing for the dot more than I would like. Static index is decent on the move not so good. What are some of your guys favorite dry fire drill to help with movement? I just watched a Hwansik drill go stop progression, I think this is gonna be a big one for me. Appreciate any feed back you guys got.

Classifier stage not reporting as a classifier on USPSA

I shot an all-classifier match (4 active, 2 provisional) and the match is paid but only 3 of the 4 active classifiers are counting.

The missing classifier is missing the classifier label and has the stage code in the title whereas the correctly reporting ones do not.

The club resubmitted the results a 2nd time before the last update and it is still reporting incorrectly. What could cause this and what could the club do to fix it? Would contacting USPSA help? This one gets me to A class otherwise I am .1268% away and we all know that means I'm shooting a 2% on the next classifier.

Legal “wall” at a major?

I don’t think you can get all the targets over this “wall” without sliding the port wall over anyway.. but I can shoot over this. Right?
