Ufv Ece program

Hi guys, I am an international student, and I would like to apply to the UFV ECE program. Still, I have a few questions. How was the class schedule for you? How many days a week did you have to go to school, and at what time did you usually have classes? I would also appreciate any tips for studying, as this is my first time in Canada and at UFV. Any advice would be helpful and appreciated. Thank you.

What calculator do I need?

I’m going to UFV next year and I’ll have courses like Calculus I & II, Biology, Chem, Physics, etc. I’m just wondering what calculators others have used and their experiences with them. I have a TI-83 right now but I’ve always wanted a TI-84 Plus CE. Is that fine or should I get a python?

UFV LPN English Requirement?

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to apply to the Regular LPN program at UFV for 2027 September, and I'm a bit confused about the English language requirement.

English is not my first language, and I haven't completed three years of post-secondary education in English. On the UFV website, it says:

Has anyone actually been required to complete the ELS University Bridge courses or take an English proficiency test when applying?

My background:

  • BC Health Care Assistant (HCA) with sufficient work experience
  • English Studies 12 (B+)
  • Biology 12 (B+)
  • Foundations of Math 11 (B+)
  • Currently taking PNUR 113

From what I understand, UFV also evaluates applicants holistically based on academics, the interview, Casper score, and work references.

I know some nursing programs in other schools require an overall IELTS score of 7 to meet BCCNM language requirements. For applicants like me whose first language isn't English, that's not an easy score to achieve, so I'm wondering how UFV handles this requirement in practice.

If English isn't your first language and you've applied to or been accepted into UFV's Regular LPN program, did they ask you to complete any additional English assessment or the ELS University Bridge courses?

how long do you keep notes for?

context: I’ve kept all my notes for every class and I’m in my third year of the business admin degree. Has anyone ever actually gone through their old notes for future classes or even work related things? Or should I free up space in my house and get rid of my notebooks?

When do we find out if accepted or rejected for Winter 2027?

I applied for the social service worker diploma for winter 2027. I just got an email today stating that initial academic review was completed and it was now being forwarded to faculty.

Does anyone know how long that takes? The email told me to frequently check my mail box.

Thanks!!!

What are my chances of getting into Comm 3?~Freshman

I’m an incoming Fresno State commuter freshman and I’m #3 on the waitlist for COMM 3 (12:00–12:50 p.m.). What are my chances of getting in?

I was automatically enrolled in Geology, but I later realized I already have AP credit that fulfills that GE requirement. I don’t want to take a class I don’t need, but I also can’t drop it because I’d fall below full-time status (12 units including Geology).

I already came in with 15 college credits, which has limited my GE options, and being one of the last freshman registration groups didn’t help. As a commuter, I also can’t take very early or late classes, and most of the remaining options don’t fit my schedule anyway.

I’m hoping COMM 3 opens up so I can replace Geology. I also looked at the online Geology lab, but it’s waitlisted, and I can’t join the waitlist because it would put me over the unit limit. The only in-person lab that fits the lecture ends at 7:30 p.m., which doesn’t work for me.

I would like to add, but I’m also taking easier classes with easier professors because I want to try and maintain a high GPA to increase my chances for law school.

I know my situation is tedious and sticky, any help counts! I’m also a political science major if that leads to any ideas or if poli sci students have any suggestions!

Has anyone at Fresno State gotten into COMM 3 from waitlist position #3? What would you do in my situation?

UFV - not for full time students!

Hoping to let prospective students know that UFV is a terrible choice for highly academic students who want to complete a degree in 4 years. I was enticed by smaller classes and more lab time. First year was good but now finding I can’t get in 3/4 mandatory classes for second year. Basic classes I need to take third year classes. And I hear many students are in the same position across departments. So looking like a 5 year degree minimum or courses in the summer (when I need to work to make money). And I have to take classes I don’t need just to keep up credits for post graduate programs. I do not recommend UFV for anyone trying to get a degree done in 4 years!!

looking for work / need advice

i never post on Reddit but i am struggling a little so i thought i'd try!
i have a job right now but i work closings/nights and i don't think i'll be able to continue with my new schedule: Calculus 3 + Transition to Advanced Math, Mon-Fri, ~10am-1pm.
ideally i'd like to work something like ~2pm-8pm. giving me time to study, be with my wife, and stay active in the gym. i know ideal isn't possible most of the time, but i'm hoping that aiming for it will at least land me a job with hours close to that. i've applied to more places than i can count and received nothing.
my main question: does anyone know any jobs hiring (in-person or remote, Chilliwack or Abbotsford) that could accommodate this?
any other advice or reality checks are super welcome too! if i didn't give enough context please ask for more! :3

Fall Booklist not available anywhere?

Hey there, I am trying to find out what books/lab kits I will need coming up for 2 first year Kin classes. The website appears to really suck, and it only shows what is available for the Summer Semester which makes it difficult to plan for loans. Does anybody have any tips?

Hey guys! if you’re still looking for experience or something to add to your resume, check out Riipen Labs

It’s a remote micro-internship program where students work on short real-world projects with employers. Each project is about 30 hours and pays a $600 upon completion.

Hello, does anyone know when we will know which clinical group we’re in for the BSN program? I’m trying to figure out my schedule and since I’m not sure which clinical group I’m in, I’m not able to plan accordingly.
