Hi TC,
Introducing rumorix.com. A free and ad-free event listing platform for the Tri-Cities and surrounding areas.
Pronounced roo-mer-iks. I'm not that creative so I threw "ix" at the end of rumor and called it a day.
This started as a tiny project for my wife to track wineries around the area then bloomed into this.
The idea is pretty simple, track and list events and happenings in the TC. Easy browsing, easy filtering. There is always something for everyone and there are small events that just aren't well promoted.
It's just a simple website right now. Android app is in the works. Apple is a maybe on the roadmap.
If you are an organizer or know of events that you want to see listed, drop a comment or use the contact page on the website to get in touch. The goal is to uncover all the hidden gems that the dry Tri-Cities has to offer.
A few answers for questions that might come up:
- Areas: I'm focusing on the Tri-Cities and expanding out to areas that are within "reasonable driving distance". To me, that's within an hour. Yakima is on the list because I have friends in the Palm springs of Washington.
- Anyone can list anything? No. Event listings should be publicly available and easily verifiable. So preferable that events are listed by hosts/organizers.
- How to get event(s) listed: for now, use the contact page. I have to be able to verify the event and contact the host/organizer if necessary.
- Events only, no ads.
- Is this better than the other thousands of resources? Probably not. I just want to provide the raw data. Unfiltered, unpersonalized, unopinionated, just raw feed in an easily digestible way.
Right now I'm looking for community feedback and help to uncover those gems of the TC. Please let me know what features you would want to see as well.
Local artists/performers that want to get their shows/performances listed, reach out.
Local pet shelters that need volunteers, reach out.
Aunt Suzie with the monthly crochet get together, reach out.
Another note, u/SnooPeanuts4336's list is much more...better. Rumorix does not catch everything and is still missing a lot from u/SnooPeanuts4336's list.
Edit 4/21/2026 After gathering feedback, changes made: added dark mode, removed Annual tab and turned Annual into a filter, moved Contact button to top, changed browsing from cards to single rows, added description of Rumorix to header. For mobile screens: added More button for footer menu.

Yesterday as I was leaving the Richland Golds Gym there was a truck in the parking lot that had two dogs in it. The windows were down but it still made me uncomfortable that someone is working out while their dogs are in the heat. I called golds and told them about it. They said that they will call non emergency or I could. So I decided I would. After the dispatcher transferred me to animal control one of the managers came out. I talked with her and she said “the dogs are fine and that they have water.” Even with all of that I was still concerned (I’m a massive animal lover) she then said “this happens all the time” and gave me a look like I was psychotic for caring about dogs in 90+ degree heat.
I did call animal control but they said they couldn’t do anything because the windows were down enough that the dogs could jump out.
The whole ordeal left me with a massive ick towards golds and that one manager.
Was I overreacting…maybe.

Any recommendations on sandy river areas around us? We have a spot in Hermiston that's super sandy, no rocks and it's a great swimming spot. It's just getting a little crowded since it's not the biggest area.

I have a Singer C5950 and I need help! My cat broke my foot pedal that originally came with the machine but I can’t figure out what replacement foot pedal I need. Universal one on amazon did not work (acted like a brake??) and I can’t seem to find the exact one I need. I still consider myself a beginner when it comes to the mechanics of my machine; if you guys know of any good repair/replacement parts shops here please let me know 😭
(thank you😢)

NBC's Report on the Moratorium
I've heard Richland's council possibly meeting tonight on approving the building of data centers-
There's been rumors of building one near West Richland and I absolutely despise the idea of our natural resources being used up by greedy crypto/AI companies.
The Richland and West Richland councils need to follow in the same steps, even if it's just to delay the inevitable, to stop the construction of any data centers in our county for the time being.
We have had enough issues as of lately with droughts and the construction of data centers here would almost certainly tank us, no matter the "financial boost" or whatever dreck pro-AI lobbyists want to propose.

* Am I just screaming into the abyss? Similar experiences?!
Life Care Center of Richland Leadership Team,
I’m writing because a family member recently spent several weeks in your facility for rehabilitation, and I need to be honest in a way that doesn’t get softened or polished: what I saw was deeply upsetting.
The building looks tired. The rooms feel neglected. Basic things like getting a pillow that wasn’t flat as paper were somehow a challenge. When a patient hits their call light because they urgently need help, waiting over half an hour isn’t just inconvenient. It’s humiliating. It’s unsafe.
Medications were late more often than not. Staff response was stretched so thin it was almost nonexistent. The level of care didn’t meet even the bare minimum of what any patient should expect.
And here’s the part that makes this harder: I want to support this place. You employ a lot of Tri‑Cities residents. I know many of your staff are doing everything they can with what they have. But what they have clearly isn’t enough. If full renovation isn’t possible, why not update one room at a time? One every couple of months. Something. Anything. Long‑term residents shouldn’t have to live in rooms that look like temporary hospital stays.
Physical therapy was another issue. My 60‑year‑old mother batting balloons around with a group of people is not therapy. It’s not individualized care. It’s not what we were told to expect. Either your staff is overworked, or you don’t have enough people to meet the needs of the residents. Probably both.
What I saw was suffering. What I saw was people trying their best inside a system that isn’t giving them the tools, staffing, or environment they need. And none of it matches the glowing description or awards you advertise.
I’m not asking for anything regarding my family member’s case. I’m asking you to fix this so no one else has to go through it. The residents who live there full‑time deserve dignity, safety, and real care, not excuses, not marketing, not bare‑minimum survival.
Please do better. Your community is watching.

I was congested for a few days and had no sore throat and no body aches, so I assumed that I was struggling with allergies or effects from the wildfire smoke. Last night, I suddenly developed a low grade fever that has persisted into today. I stayed home.
I will test for covid tomorrow.
Is anyone else sick? I hadn't heard of anyone I knew being sick until earlier in the day yesterday before I had a fever. It was very sudden.

Moving to tri cities here soon and I am looking for restaurant recommendations. I am open to quite literally anything. I like trying different cultural cuisines especially the ones that are a bit more difficult to come by in smaller areas. For example I’ve never tried georgian, African or Eastern European food and don’t know if there’s any restaurants in the area that have this type of food. Also open to American food as well of course.

Remember to vote.

My son just registered to vote. Yay! Since the ballots/guides were already mailed out, will they still automatically mail him a ballot? I've combed the Internet and can't find an answer for this. All they tell you is how late you can register before the election. Ugh

Hey everyone!
I’m a 30F moving to the Tri-Cities from Arizona this September with my daughter (she’ll be just under a year old 😊). I recently accepted a Nurse Practitioner position with Trios and couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter!
I’m hoping to get some advice and maybe even meet some people before we move.
A few things I’m looking for:
• Housing: I’d love to find a single-family rental with a yard in a safe, family-friendly neighborhood where my daughter can grow up. My income is solid, but my credit isn’t perfect due to some circumstances over the past year. If anyone knows of property managers or landlords who are willing to look at the whole picture instead of just a credit score, I’d really appreciate any recommendations.
• Single mom groups: I’d love to connect with other moms, especially single moms, for playdates, coffee, or just building a support system. (Tri-Cities Family Fun)
• Healthcare friends: If anyone works in healthcare (especially at Trios!), I’d love to connect.
• Friends in general: I’m always down for grabbing coffee, checking out local restaurants or breweries, hiking, farmers markets, or just exploring everything the Tri-Cities has to offer.
• Daycares & toddler activities: Any daycare recommendations or favorite activities for kids around 1 year old would be amazing! I know daycare waitlists can be long, so I’d love to get a head start. (Reddit)
Thanks in advance! I’m really looking forward to becoming part of the community and can’t wait to call the Tri-Cities home. 😊

I'm looking for recommendations for a therapist for my daughter. She's been struggling with anxiety around eating, fear of gaining weight, and body image, and we'd really like to find someone who has experience working with children or teens dealing with these kinds of issues.
If you've had a positive experience with a local therapist (or know someone who has), I'd really appreciate any recommendations. Thank you!

I’ve called, visited, checked apps, for these following stores in Kennewick pasco and Richland
Walmart
Fred Meyer
Target
Fiesta foods
Sm produce
Golden dragon
Columbia oriental
Yokes
Safeway
Costco
Is there anywhere in this god forsaken town I can buy a star fruit or two? I haven’t seen one since I saw one at Fred Meyer like 4 years ago.
Update: I scheduled a plasma donation appointment so I could afford to ship them overnight from a farm in Florida.
