important tirdparty API resistance

At the moment, many Subreddits are dying because of the change to the third party APIs. Above all, support groups for the disabled are met and also important servers such as r/traaaa Therefore I ask you to fight for Reddit in its current form. To help, you can do different things.

  1. Message the moderators/employees of Reddit and complain about the situation, (a full list of them is here )

  2. Comment under the post from u/Reddit that addresses the API change. I will post a comment where you can do that if you want to do that, I thought we as queers could stand in unity. You can also post just for yourself if you feel like that's better.

  3. Spread the word and participate in the strike 12. June till at least 14. June

Of course, stay respectful with your complaints. WE are strong.

Name Post Zack (full name Zachary)? He/him

Upvotes

Hey! I'm having trouble deciding on a first name for myself. I honestly kind of am liking Zack, but I want to know what other people think about it. I do have a sort of preconceived notion about the name that it's for bratty kids, but I still like the name and want to get over that. My last name starts with a B and is two syllables, and I'm considering maybe the middle name Alexander, but if you have any other suggestions I'm open, I'm not particularly attached to my middle name and I'm good with anything that sounds good. Thanks for your help!!

he/him Names Confuse Me (specifically my own)

Hello Reddit! I have come seeking help with my name. I am a trans guy who really wants a name to call his own.

My dead name is… rare to say the least. My dad allegedly made it up and I’ve never met anyone else with the name. I don’t mind this too much but a pre-established name would be nice. Although I don’t want it to be too basic (although plenty of the names I’ve considered are very basic).

I’m considering James as my middle name because it sounds like my old middle name (one syllable J name). My surname is also one syllable and begins with an L.

I’ve had some ideas, some prominent ones being:

Silas (from a book character)

Alek/Alex (a name I loved when I was a kid)

Caleb (first name I considered)

That’s all I’ve got. A very not-exciting list that I don’t know how to feel about. I’d appreciate suggestions/tips/anything really. I just want to figure out a name to call myself while everything else in my world is so shaky (my family life isn’t very stable and I’m in a big transitional period in my life, not just the actual transition lol). I want something to call my own and no names are sticking.

Thank you in advance for your help :)

Demigirl Names?

Hii! I'm a demigirl, and trying to change my name! I want something neutral but fem-leaning. I like a variety of different names, things like Willow work, Cory, a lot of things. I just don't want anything too like, exotic? I dunno, just nothing too extreme, like Starlight, lolz. Thank you!

Hello good people, i have been struggling to find a name that i like
i’m non binary and finding names that sound okayish in spanish is hard.

For now Rio is one that i have been liking but i’m looking at other options like jade, joan, mel.

Does anyone have an advice on how to finally choose?

or even a recommendation.
my birth name is mauro and probably my mom would choose a name also with M, but i’m not sure

thank you for your time here <3

Name Post Name Change

For starters, I’m an older teen. I don’t exactly like my birth name. I’ve always questioned my gender but not necessarily labeled myself as anything other than female. I don’t present feminine, but my name is quite feminine. In a few days, I will be off to summer camp for three weeks. I was thinking of going by Parker at camp instead of my given name. because it’s a bit more neutral. I’d also think I’d start going she/they, but I’m not sure if the name fits or if I’m comfortable with it. I’m just confused. I’ve gone through a bunch of names but I just am stuck. I’ll take any advise I can.

they/them he/him Jaye (they/he)

Hi, call me Jaye. I'm bigender (afab) testing out a more masculine name, and would like to try out they/he pronouns. Name isn't fully finalised either- I'm after a short unisex name that isn't too common/ has some spelling variation yet still reads easily. I like Theo, Ash, Alex, Enzo (last is more masc) but any other ideas would be appreciated. If pronouns could be separated instead of in the same sentence that would be great- thanks 😁.

I've been talking to my psychologist recently about some gender stuff, and I thought maybe I should try out some pronouns. I'm hoping trying out she/her pronouns will help with some of the confusion.

he/they I want to try out a new name but finding it hard to work one out

My birth name is Caitlin so I have been trialling Caolan as it’s also Irish and a masculine version of my name.

As I’m trans masc he/ they im also thinking I could go for something more non binary sounding.

I don’t know whether to stick close to my birth name to make it easier.

Other ideas I have are

Cai
Kay
Luca (totally different lol)

But if you have any ideas which keeps it close and is gender neutral sounding I’d appreciate it

Trevor (They/them)

Hey! I’ve hated my birth name and my relationship with my gender has been weird for a bit so I’m trying this out. A few questions though:

  1. Is it weird that I’m changing from a masculine name (I’m AMAB) to another masculine name but using gender neutral pronouns? Is that confusing? I really love the name but I feel like a larper
  2. Also I’m okay enough with he/him pronouns, I just find myself referring to myself with they/them and I feel really good when I do they/them in pronoun dressing room sites. It might just be novelty though?? Idk. As said earlier I feel ilke a larper
  3. Is there anything wrong with the name Trevor? Any implications or horrible people you know of? Would that name turn you away?

If you couldn’t tell, I’m very autistic and struggle with identifying my emotions/opinions…

Other Genderfluid, trying out how she/her feels, and when

Hi, you can just call me Drago. I’d like to try out she/her pronouns, but also he/him and they/them as a “control” (like in science experiments)

I’d describe myself as bigender fluidflux, and specifically mutogender (gender shifts based on circumstances). My gender can shift a good amount throughout the day.

My fluidity makes it kinda awkward to list my pronouns. My solution in the meantime was “he/they usually” but as a result of that (plus being AMAB) I haven’t ever been referred to with she/her pronouns by someone else and I’d like to try out how that feels. I’ll re-read the comments every now and then to see how each pronoun set feels and when.
