Mudcrutch. The band that launched Tom Petty to fame.

Really love this.

At the top of the list or darn near for me has to be Tom Petty. 1976 to 2014. (Heartbreakers, Solo, Traveling Willburys, Mudcrutch). Thirty eight years and I can’t think of one song that didn’t hit it.

I already listened to Full Moon Fever and absolutely loved it, open to suggestions in order to discover what this awesome man has to offer

I have my big brother's Damn the Torpedoes record album and I have the CD. His music videos are epic and he was a good man!

This year is the 50th anniversary of the debut album. We recently got “extended mixes” of American girl and breakdown on streaming. The tom petty store has been featuring a lot of merchandise related to the debut album, and today I saw they added a “road trip ‘74” collection on their site, with phrases like “no sleep til LA” on shirts and such. It looks like a lot of work just for some t shirts which theirs usually look pretty basic

I had the honor of photographing Mike Campbell & The Dirty Knobs live at Northfield Park’s Centerstage this past Saturday, July 11!

What an energetic and alive crowd (‘So Alive’ you could say haha). What started as an ordinary set of songs featuring many from their new album, Mission Of Mercy, took a crazy turn at the encore. The whole concert spiraled into a musical frenzy as Mike asked the crowd what they wanted to hear played. I have seen some encores in my life but this had to be the wildest one ever, so much in fact that it included 7 additional songs! The energy in that room was unmatched!

I’m not sure if it was because the casino never closes or if he was just in the mood to rock but either way, people got their moneys worth! At 23 years old I’m too young to have professionally photographed Tom Petty before his passing but I’m so glad Mike is still out there bringing the house down!

I’m in Germany for family and decided to hunt down the same type of military jacket Tom had. Took a while to find a genuine one but eventually managed to get one!

This is such a great song. But both my husband and I thought the sound was similar to another band and couldn’t place it.

Any thoughts?

I only got to see tom once and it was in 2006 while I was a junior in high school. I went with like 7-8 friends and it was core memory for me. Still love him to this day! Rip amigo

I was in a friends car yesterday who has satellite radio and a live version of Shadow People came on, killer version. It said it was from “Live in Boston 8.30.14” but I can’t find this recording other than fan recorded stuff on YouTube. Does his channel have exclusive live show stuff not available anywhere else? Just curious if I can find this show with the great audio as it was presented on the station. Thanks

Upscaling tech is getting better and better, and I figured I'd try the video from Into the Great Wide Open. It looks really good most of the time; there's a few lingering issues which prevent it from being perfect which I suspect will be fixed as things continue to improve.

Happy 250th birthday to America and happy 50th birthday to one of the greatest songs ever recorded

Hello my fellow Tom Petty lovers. Got a bit of a hot take on this 4th of July morning.

I love Walls, I remember constantly watching the music video when I was younger. When I listen to it now, I always find myself annoyed by the background vocals at the end of the song. Based on the Spotify credits, I believe they are sung by Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac fame.

In my opinion, he’s doing way too much with the background vocals at the end of the song.

Anyone else smell what I’m stepping in?
