I never really liked the font they chose for this one and thought the one from the tour looked better so i made it myself. What do you think

In my obsessive refreshes of the album in hopes of a suprise 3rd single, i noticed this change.

I was able to go to The Strokes photo exhibition in Sydney with my girlfriend. It was showing Colin Lane and Cody Smyth’s photos of the boys from around 2000–2004, so it was mainly from the Is This It and Room on Fire eras.
You could buy one of the photos, but the cheapest one was going for $400, so I didn’t buy anything from the event. There was also a prize raffle happening. 1st place would win a music speaker, while 2nd place would win a photo personally. Honestly, the 2nd place prize was better lol.
Besides that, the event was really fun. I wish I could have sent a video of me walking around, but Reddit wouldn’t let me. I’ll probably make another post about it.
Also, hi to the person I met at the event who uses Reddit! It was nice talking to you.

Sorry just needed to vent, I saw them for the first time after being a fan for the last 25 years and I just soaked it in and enjoyed myself. Bummed that other people didn’t.

Anyone else disappointed/surprised to see this dropped from the latest setlists? I’m sure once the album is released the setlists will change significantly but after the first couple listens to this song I fell in love with it. Just curious if anyone has any thoughts on why they stopped playing it recently. Was it not well-received at shows? I just think this will ultimately become a fan favorite song once people get over complaining about the auto tune.

Seeing them in Tampa. I hope FOOL makes its way back on the setlist. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.

Many people seem to forget the impact that a producer can have on an album. Some of my favorite artists have worked closely with the same producers for years and sometimes those relationships can really blend and grow into something incredible. Radiohead would be a good example of this along with Nigel Godrich, whom they've worked with since OK Computer.

I've realized with the recent discussions about The Strokes' full catalog on this sub that I kind of think about the band's work in two parts, with the first two albums existing within their own world and everything after it belonging together just the same.

With all of that said The New Abnormal is one of those 'moment-in-your-life' defining albums for me, and an album I largely ignored until I needed it most - years after release. It's my favorite album, and there are moments throughout that I consider absolutely brilliant and stronger than much of their other work. I've attributed much of this to the contributions of Rubin, which is to say it's the first album they collaborated on together. Maybe it's bullshit and in my head, but I've always felt this way about TNA.

Anyway, I'm just super fucking excited. If anyone wants to meet at the Hollywood FL show HIT ME UP, it's my first solo concert woooo ✌️✌️✌️
