Hello, I am returning player and wanted to know which events to prioritize in gathering S-Chips and other materials? Is there any that are short enough to get through quickly or give a lit more than the others. Additionally do any of them require energy? I've caught up on the story so am currently just running anomalies for card parts. Thank you!

We were given the choice. There's even the detail of finding either the wedding passport or application form at our home depending on the choice we selected.

We were "involved" in the preparations. From wedding dress, ring holder, to venue.

And best of all, everything felt meaningful because there were 5 years worth of memories that properly built up to this event.

I already saw the card art designs since last year. But I entered the event blind - got no idea of how the event is going to be executed. And needless to say, it absolutely exceeded my expectations. ToT may not be the "favorite child" of hoyo, but the team behind ToT clearly loves their own game. And I'm thankful that they respected the significance of this milestone.

Just throwing this appreciation post as a long-time player who thoroughly enjoyed the event. I hope the newer players also enjoyed it as well!

The story is full of rich character exploration, suggestive vignettes and double entendres in the text, full of barely hidden heat (I am not ashamed of the easy pun) but also laying Vyn's personality bare. (maybe not just his personality). I love the way Tears of Themis does not cross the line but just plays with it, which for me is way more fun to read than full-on spicy territory.

So, while this was not the card I was aiming for, it was an unexpected good surprise!

Im sorry the house of the victim is literally burning with all of the evidences inside and yet the scene is being played like a freaking romantic development 😭 with mellow music and soft shading on the art. I was laughing my ass off why are we being so nonchalant about a house being burned 😭😭

It very expensive though - 80usd for each set😭and the box came in severely damaged 😐I was planning to keep it 😞 Got them from aliexpress by the way. I noticed that Marius (my main) has the same theme song/"tune" but arranged differently for his special anniversary cards (music box ver), room/dollhouse (jazzy/ r&b ver), and interactive room where you poke at them and play games/whatever you call this lol (OG). So I’m planning to buy a Tears of Themis merch item that costs around $150. I’d be spending my own money, and even though I personally think $150 is a bit expensive, I feel like it’s something I’d genuinely cherish, so I don’t mind spending that much on it. But I’m really hesitating because I’m a little scared of my family (or other people) criticizing me for spending that much money on something that’s related to a game and would probably be considered pointless by them (they might also think it’s weird cause it’s a romance game). I honestly don’t know what to do. 😭

I wanted to see if I’m the only one who does this, or if it's a common min-max strategy.

Every Sunday, I let my natural stamina fully recover to 160. Then, literally a few hours before the weekly reset and right before they expire I chug all my expiring energy drinks. I just managed to boost myself up to 580 AP right before the clock ticks over.

I love doing this because the moment Monday hits, I can immediately blast through the Temple of Trials, Anomaly levels, and Legal Studies to knock out a massive chunk of my weekly to-dos in one sitting without waiting around.

Am I crazy for cutting it this close to the expiration timer, or are there other hoarders out there doing the exact same thing? How do you guys manage your weekly AP routine?

Disclaimer: English isn’t my first language so there might be grammatical errors and sentences being a bit simplistic. If you spot any errors do let me know will edit it. And this is fairly a long chapter so will be doing it in 2 parts. Will upload the other part next week.

The chapter opens with MC going to Vyn's house at Artem's request to deliver some documents. She enters the house to the sound of a melody coming from the second floor. Vyn guides her to his study via a smart terminal. MC finds his voice pleasant, like a stream of water washing away anxiety. She enters to find Vyn placing the final two cards onto a card tower. He then requests MC to remove one card from the tower. She hesitates but eventually does so, causing the tower to collapse.

Card tower conundrum
Vyn then asks whether her answer would have been different if she could go back in time now that she knows the outcome. MC replies that it would not, basing her reasoning on the melody playing—Haydn's String Quartet in C Major "Emperor." She explains that change is the only constant. Even if she could go back in time, the outcome might still differ depending on which card she chose or even how she pulled the same card. She believes that people shape their own fate, so she would still make the attempt even if she knew the result beforehand. Vyn is impressed by her reasoning.

Conversation with Vyn
The next scene opens with Vyn offering MC some black tea. MC mentions that she used to play the violin when she was younger but is now out of practice. She hands Artem's documents to Vyn, who doesn't even bother looking at them. When questioned, he replies, "These documents are no longer valuable, as I have received something more important," and asks MC to relay that message to Artem. (I think this is his way of telling Artem that she passed the test.) During their conversation, MC also learns that Vyn works at the Psychology Research Center in the Higher Education District. Before she leaves, he invites her to an art exhibition over the weekend and sends her off in a taxi.

Artem and Vyn
After MC leaves, Vyn has a phone call with Artem, where he confirms that she is an excellent fit for the team and the deeper investigation. However, he also asks Artem not to shield her so much, warning that his actions might interfere with her growth. His exact words are:
“She is like a rare rose cultivated in the petri dish of your design. Using growth media might allow her to bloom beautifully. However, without the blessing of the wind and the rain, her spirit will lack vitality and resilience. How would such a flower differ from an artificial one?"
As soon as MC gets out of the taxi, Artem comes running toward her, looking worried because she took longer than expected. He offers to drive her home and later asks what she and Vyn discussed. MC notices that Artem seems quite wary of Vyn. She tells him about the card game and mentions that Vyn invited her to the art exhibition, to which Artem simply remains silent.

First encounter with Marius
It's now the weekend, and MC is walking toward the Stellis University Exhibition Center for the art exhibition. As she walks, she browses information about the exhibits on her phone and realizes that the event is sponsored by Pax. Suddenly, a gossip notification pops up:
"War of Romance: Pax President Marius von Hagen vs. Fashion Designer Estelle Marino."
Distracted by her phone, MC isn't watching where she's going when someone forcefully bumps into her.
The person who bumped into her tells her to look where she's walking (the birth of "jiejie"). Marius notices from her badge that she is a lawyer from Themis Law Firm. She later realizes that she herself had been walking rather slowly, meaning the other person must have been moving fast to collide with her so forcefully. The two bicker briefly before he leads her to the newly developed Stellis Art Gallery, where she meets Vyn.

Here we are introduced to the fact that the person accompanying MC is Marius von Hagen, president of Pax Group and Themis Law Firm's biggest business partner. MC also learns that Marius is currently pursuing his master's degree and that Vyn was hired by Marius's father as a private tutor to teach him the fundamentals of psychology. MC is puzzled by the age gap, as Vyn is only a few years younger than Artem, while Marius is in his twenties, so they are not that far apart in age. Vyn explains that Marius's father specifically requested someone closer to Marius's age so there wouldn't be such a large generation gap between tutor and student.

As they begin touring the exhibition, Marius tries to tag along, prompting Vyn to chide him by saying, "Children do love to follow others."

Marius’s arrest
During this, police officer Darius Morgan approaches them and questions Marius about his whereabouts between 9:00 PM and 2:00 AM the previous night. Marius explains that he attended a business banquet hosted by Estelle Marino, owner of Mode de Venus, celebrating her Fashion Week victory over Pax. He says he remained there until around 7:15 PM before leaving for his painting studio. Before leaving, he gifted Estelle a box of liquor chocolates.

Darius then reveals that Estelle was found dead. Her estimated time of death is between 9:00 PM and 2:00 AM, and the cause was tetrodotoxin-laced chocolates. Marius is immediately arrested. He requests MC to act as his attorney, joking that he couldn't afford Artem (lol). They both try to persuade each other (Marius insists MC becomes her lawyer, MC insists he hires someone who has more experience like Artem as she has yet to handle any criminal cases). During this conversation Marius questions if she believes him. She starts to say she believes him, but corrects herself mid sentence and says ‘She believes in evidence’. Later she agrees to help him out at the moment, but this back and forth happen throughout the chapter (atleast in this half)

Vyn comments on the halo effect, pointing out that everyone instinctively feels Marius couldn't have committed the crime. He then offers to investigate the case alongside MC. Meanwhile, Marius is seen pouting at them like a child whose favorite toy has been taken away.

Crime scene (at the hotel where Estelle body was found)
Everyone is taken to the crime scene, where they find the police questioning Estelle's secretary, Jen Mendoza. MC and Vyn split up. Vyn goes to discuss the case details with the police, while MC decides to obtain a statement from Marius.
Marius's Statement
Marius attended the banquet at Estelle's invitation.

Estelle left the word "Hagen" on a note found at the crime scene.

Marius and Estelle had a conflict of interest. Pax had attempted to acquire Estelle's company. Estelle used the negotiations to generate publicity for her own brand before ultimately rejecting the offer. This caused Marius significant trouble with Pax's board members. However, it also allowed him to discover employees within Pax who had been leaking confidential information to Estelle, leading to their dismissal. MC suggests framing the incident as an internal security failure rather than focusing on Estelle rejecting the acquisition.

Regarding the gossip surrounding a supposed business marriage between them, Marius firmly denies it, stating that his family has never forced anyone into business marriages.

The poisoned chocolates were an impulsive purchase by Marius. The chocolates featured Lucifer, the fallen angel, and he intended them as a symbolic jab at Estelle's pride. Estelle even ate one of the chocolates in front of Marius during the banquet without suffering any immediate effects. However, she later died after consuming chocolates from the same box, raising suspicions that they may have been tampered with after Marius gave them to her. At this point, only three people are known to have handled the chocolates: Estelle, Jen, and Marius.

Gift from Marius
Marius is taken to the police station by Darius, while MC remains behind to examine the crime scene.
Marius's assistant, Vincent, later approaches MC and delivers a gift from Marius. It contains a pair of flat shoes, with Vincent explaining that Marius wanted her to have them so she wouldn't hurt her feet running around in heels all day. Vincent also hands her documents detailing Pax's internal investigation into the failed merger negotiations with Estelle.

Analysis with Vyn
Vyn returns with the laboratory reports on the chocolates.
MC wants to use the fact that Estelle ate chocolates between 7:00 PM and 7:15 PM in Marius's presence yet showed no symptoms until after 9:00 PM. However, Vyn doubts this argument. The toxicology report states that the amount of tetrodotoxin used was relatively low, meaning symptoms could have had a delayed onset. As a result, Estelle could still have eaten the poisoned chocolates before Marius left while remaining within the estimated time of death.
The report also reveals that only 7 of the remaining chocolates contained poison, while the others were untouched. This raises the possibility that Estelle happened to eat only the non-poisoned chocolates during the banquet before later consuming the poisoned ones in private.
Several questions arise from this:
Why did the murderer poison only around two-thirds of the chocolates?

If Estelle had shared the chocolates with others, there would likely have been multiple victims.

The poison was injected using a syringe.

Since no one knew Marius would impulsively buy those chocolates, the killer either already intended to use a syringe for the murder or routinely carried one for a medical condition, making it less suspicious.

This shifts suspicion toward Jen, the only other person known to have handled the chocolates besides Estelle and Marius.

Summary of Jen's Statement
Jen explains that both she and Estelle were surprised when Marius accepted the invitation. Estelle had only invited him to taunt him and never expected him to actually attend.

At around 7:15 PM, Estelle ate a piece of chocolate to demonstrate that she and Pax were now on good terms. During this, Jen interrupted to remind her about organizer Mr. Zane's upcoming speech.
After Marius left, Estelle went to meet Mr. Zane and instructed Jen to place the chocolates in the refrigerator in Estelle's room on the 17th floor because they were beginning to melt.
While returning, Jen bumped into a waiter carrying a chocolate fountain. She is severely allergic to chocolate, and after asking the waiter for skin medication, she returned to her own room on the 18th floor to treat the allergic reaction. The waiter also helped send her stained clothes for dry cleaning. This occupied her between 7:40 PM and 8:00 PM, after which she returned to the banquet.

Vyn questions why she was staying on a different floor when there were empty rooms closer to Estelle's suite. Jen claims that her room had simply been the only one available when she checked in.
The banquet concluded at 8:30 PM, and after seeing off the guests, both Jen and Estelle returned to their respective rooms by 9:00 PM.
Jen says she discovered Estelle's body the following morning at 7:40 AM.

Jen also claims she had no major conflicts with Estelle. She handled Estelle's business affairs, while previous assistants had taken care of her personal matters before leaving after various disagreements. According to Jen, Estelle generally treated her well, and there had been no issues regarding salary or workload.

Jen is detained for further investigation.
Meanwhile, MC and Vyn request permission to inspect the crime scene. After observing Jen's behavior throughout the questioning, Vyn quietly tells MC that Jen was lying.

Yes, you read that right. I have RETURNED... to being very lost on the story so far! My main men were Artem and Vyn. I remember a lot about the main story but for the love of me I cannot remember anything about the specific moments between MC+the boys.

Hello! So I play tears of themis once a year only (during anniversaries) and I do have all of Marius' anniv cards, but when I looked at the card inventory I realized I may have been missing way too many good cards and now fomo is hitting me hard 😭 I quit actively playing after the 2nd anniversary, which is such a shame because I was very busy with college during that period.

May I ask how often reruns happen and if ALL SSR/SSS get their reruns (except for the top-up cards of course)? Also there's a bunch of good MR cards I missed out and I haven't really encountered any MR reruns that don't require using s-chips 💔
