Hi, I am an international student who moved recently to Suzhou. I am an upper intermediate badminton player too. I am looking for a sparring partner who could practice badminton with me for say 1-2 hours. Looking for someone who is at the same level or more advanced. Preferably around SIP area. We can share the court fee.
I'm an incoming student at \\\*\\\*China University of Mining and Technology (CUMT), Xuzhou\\\*\\\*, and I was wondering if there are others here starting this year too.
I thought it would be nice if we could connect before traveling. We could help each other with things like flights, getting from the airport to Xuzhou, registration, accommodation, buying a SIM card, opening a bank account, and just figuring things out together once we arrive.
Moving to a new country is a lot easier when you already know a few people. 😊
If you're also heading to CUMT this year, feel free to comment or send me a message. It would be great to get to know everyone!
Hi all. Just a quick questions about crowds here; I have read everything from "expect it to be a little crowded" all the way up to "don't bother going if you aren't in line before it opens or you won't be able to move due to crowds." Just wondering what people's experiences have been for these. Would be going in late October. Thank you all very much.

Hi everyone,
I’m an international student at Shanghai Normal University and I’m currently in Morocco.
I need to pay my tuition fees, and I already have the money. The issue isn’t the payment itself—it’s that I don’t have anyone from the university’s Finance Office to contact so I can confirm the payment procedure.
I’ve already sent them an email but haven’t received a reply yet.
If anyone studies at Shanghai Normal University or has dealt with the Finance Office before, could you please let me know the best way to contact them? Do they have a WeChat account, a phone number, or another contact person who responds more quickly?
I’d really appreciate any help. Thank you!
Hey ! I am a male undergraduate student and I will join XJTLU ( SIP campus) in August. I am looking for a roommate to share a double room at the Parfait hotel and apartments. If you are interested don’t hesitate ;)!
This morning, during the extreme heat (around 38°C), I found this tiny puppy wandering alone outside our industrial office. He had no mum or owner nearby, and his little whiskers were burnt from the heat. :(
Despite everything he has been through, he is doing amazingly well. He is eating, drinking, and recovering nicely. He is such a sweet, gentle, and loving puppy who enjoys sleeping, cuddling, and being around people.
He's around 1 month old and will need vaccinations, formula, and supervision as he grows. For now, he's staying in a foster/daycare arrangement for the next 2 weeks.
Looking for someone who can provide:
– A safe and loving home
– Time, patience, and care for a young puppy
– Responsibility for his food, vaccinations, and future needs
This little guy has already survived extreme heat, hunger, and loneliness - yet he remains trusting, affectionate, and full of love. In return, he will bring endless companionship, puppy cuddles, and the joy of watching him grow into a happy, healthy dog. 🐾
He was found in Kunshan, but I can help arrange transport and provide some initial food and formula to help him settle into his new home.
If you can give this little survivor the loving home he deserves (or know someone who can), please reach out. 💛 🐶
Is the mosquito problem bad in Suzhou?
I haven’t been there yet but I have been to Shanghai and their mosquitoes are brutal and I have heard that they are even worse in Suzhou.
I am genuinely so afraid of them because I am really bad at killing them so they end up keeping me up for the entire night…
Hey guys! I am based near the Yangyu Xiang station on line one. Does anyone know where any good pokemon stores are? Been to the Toys r Us and a store in the basement at suzhou center. Any information is super helpful!
I am an architecture student from Germany heading for XJTLU this fall. I have my unconditional offer and am currently in the visa process. I will be staying for one semester and I‘m looking forward to meeting new people and exploring China.
Feel free to send me a dm if you are also in Suzhou this fall. :)
Hey i am a Business Administration Student from Germany and i am going to study at Xiamen University starting at September.
I've wondered If i could reach out to some other Exchange Student / local Students through Reddit, bc i didn't find a other way to connect to people there.
Hiii, is there any students coming for the Sep 2026 intake of XJTLU from Vietnam? Would love to connect to go together and share transportation cost to and from airport etc.
You were that bald guy with golden teeth driving a black EV near olympic center at 1pm. I saw how you were recklessly swerving and almost hit my driver that was trying to pick me up. Instead of apologizing, you got rolled down your window and got incredibly aggressive. If you do not even have basic respect for people, I think the CCP should deport your ugly ass to whatever shithole you came from.
I run a small textile materials startup in India, and I'm reaching out here because I've genuinely run out of ideas and I'm hoping someone in this community might be able to help.
I've been trying for months to get in touch with a manufacturer based in Suzhou ; Suzhou Lifei Textile Co., Ltd. (苏州市利飞纺织品有限公司)
Address: No. 221 Sudai Road, Huangqiao Town, Xiangcheng District, Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province, China - 215132 ,
About a fiber sourcing and technical collaboration that matters a lot to my company's next steps. I've sent emails, gone through sourcing intermediaries, tried every channel I could think of from overseas and I haven't been able to get a single response. I know that's not unusual for cold outreach from abroad, but I'm at the point where I could really use some local help.
If you're based in Suzhou, work in textiles or manufacturing, or just know how business introductions tend to work there, I would be so grateful for any guidance at all even something small, like:
A better way to reach a company like this (I've heard WeChat works far better than email for this kind of thing, but I don't have a way in)
Someone who can visit this place if you are crossing by and get me some email or a contact
Or just honest advice on how to get a first response from a Suzhou-based manufacturer as an outsider from India
I'm happy to share more details by DM, and I'd genuinely appreciate even a small pointer in the right direction. Thank you so much to anyone who reads this, it means a lot.
Can you share any advice you can give out to a freshman, even if you don’t major in these fields general advice and major related advice would be greatly appreciated.
Like what to expect from lectures, how the first week goes by, what should I buy for my dorm or stationary, truly any knowledge would be helpful.
No soy competidora. No publico fotos presumiendo.
Dato extra: si quieres practicar español, soy tu persona 😄
Long-time lurker, first-time poster. I'm rong224 — a 43-year-old mom living here in SIP with my 8-year-old daughter.
A bit about me:
I spent nearly 6 years living and working in Peru 🇵🇪 (which is how I ended up speaking fluent English and Spanish). Life brought me back to Suzhou for family reasons, and I've been here ever since.
About 2 years ago, I was at 165 lbs, felt sluggish, and honestly didn't recognize myself in the mirror. I started training with a personal trainer, and after 200+ sessions, I completely transformed — not just physically, but mentally. I went from "I can't do a single push-up" to confidently lifting heavy and loving it.
Along the way I got my Level 3 Public Nutritionist certification (公共营养师三级), and this summer I'm getting my national personal trainer certification (新国职私教). Next year I'm planning to add ACE and NASM to the list.
I'm not a competitor. I don't post flex pics. I'm just a mom who found strength training and it changed my life — and now I'm turning it into a career.
If anyone here is into fitness, looking for a training partner, or just wants to chat about gym life in Suzhou — I'd love to connect. Happy to share tips if you're just starting out, or if you're an expat trying to figure out where to train here.
Bonus: if you want to practice Spanish, I'm your girl 😄
