As August 5, 2026, approaches, interest in one of Ray Bradbury’s most famous stories has surged across the internet. Readers are once again discussing There Will Come Soft Rains, a short story published in 1950 that describes a world destroyed by nuclear war and gives a specific date for the catastrophe.
The story has become one of the writer’s most discussed works. It raises questions about artificial intelligence, smart homes, nuclear weapons, and the future of humanity. More than seventy years after its publication, many readers are surprised by how closely some of Bradbury’s ideas resemble modern technology.
It looks like people standing in lines or some kind of pattern, maybe old Vatican footage or it even reminds me Eyes Wide Shut.
It could be from a video game, AI, or old movie. Anyone else kow it?
I can't stop thinking about it. Again probably bc Kubrick and EWS is one of my fav movies, and I also recently saw that other movie by Zoe K- and that stuff weirds me out.
I even had a dream about the way everything was arranged in the picture.
I don't really care what the picture is. I want to know why I can't get it out of my head.
Has anyone else ever had a picture do this to them? Is there a name for that feeling? Aside from being OCD/obsessive ha?
Three days ago, on July 19, residents of Hove, a seaside town on England's south coast next to Brighton, noticed strange objects protruding from the water some distance offshore. One witness photographed them by holding a smartphone up to a spotting scope, allowing the outlines of the objects to be captured.
The sighting attracted considerable attention and concern among local residents, prompting the incident to be reported to the appropriate authorities. HM Coastguard later stated that the objects were related to a vessel working in the area. However, it did not explain what the objects actually were or what type of work was being carried out.
The incident was reported by the local news outlet The Argus, but so far no further details have been released, leaving many residents with unanswered questions.
Older people begin to produce unusually high levels of a protein called CD47. Scientists often describe CD47 as a “don’t eat me” signal because it prevents macrophages from recognizing cells that should be removed.
Uncovered a biological process that may play a major role in human aging. The research suggests that age-related changes in the immune system prevent the body from efficiently clearing worn-out immune cells.
As these cells accumulate, they trigger chronic inflammation, a condition widely linked to aging and many age-related diseases.
U.S. GOVERNMENT And Governments around the world should let adults that are over a certain age, have the right and ability to be euthanasized.! After a certain amount of time and if they agree both times then it should be up to us. Population control With Mercy.
I created OUTSIDE after wondering what people would say if they could address something beyond our known reality without knowing whether anything was listening.

At 11pm on the night of November 16, 1996, William “Bill” Foster, his wife Peggy (both age 55) and two friends drove northbound along Highway 601 near Yadkinville, North Carolina. Ahead of them a strange light appeared ahead of them over the highway. It looked like a large plane was going to land on the highway. As they drove closer, they saw it was a massive black triangular-shaped craft. Moments later, it hovered in perfect silence less than fifty feet overhead. For the next few minutes, all four of them watched the craft in astonishment when it slowly glided off to the left and disappeared into the distance. They all realized that they had seen a UFO.
Driving home, Bill and Peggy were puzzled to see that the clock read 2am. A drive that should’ve taken no more than two hours somehow took four. They were missing two hours of time. At the time, they didn’t think much about it and just continued on with their lives. But a few years later, a relative asked Bill and Peggy to share their UFO story. Only then did they realize that they could not account for the missing two hours.
Bill began researching the subject and soon discovered what the missing time might mean: that they could have been taken onboard and not remember it. Both Bill and Peggy decided to try hypnosis. The other couple refused to talk about the encounter. Under hypnosis, Bill and Peggy recalled that as they slowed down to gaze in wonder at the massive craft, their car rose up off the road and up inside the giant UFO. After two years of hypnotic regression therapy, the whole story emerged.
The four witnesses found themselves still sitting in the car, in a huge, bright, hangar-sized room. More than a dozen 4-foot-tall gray ETs surrounded the car. Each person was unable to move as they were levitated above the floor and led in separate directions. Bill was floated down a corridor and as he passed an open archway, he saw other people lying unconscious on tables in a small room. He was then floated into a small room where short gray ETs and one tall one began to examine him. “Don’t be afraid,” they said. “We won’t hurt you.” Bill hammered them with questions, most of which they simply answered by repeating the phrase: “Don’t be afraid. We won’t hurt you.”
Under hypnosis, Peggy recalled the same series of events. She was taken down another corridor, also passed a room with people on tables, and was taken to another room where she was physically examined. All four were then floated back to the car which was gently dropped back on the highway. Following the encounter, Peggy’s severe fibromyalgia went into full remission.
Traumatized by the encounter, Peggy refused further hypnosis. But under hypnosis, Bill not only remembered this encounter; he remembered having been taken onboard almost a dozen times throughout his life. Intensely curious about his “secret life,” Bill continued the hypnosis sessions. He discovered he had been taken since age five. As a young boy, he was taken onboard where he was joined by other children and gray ET children and played games where he was taught telekinesis. At age 12, he was taken onboard and given an alien implant, and he was told that he would be taught lessons which would take years to learn, and that when he finally grasped them, he would be taken by the grays to live with them permanently. In exchange, he would be given information, and his lifespan would be more than doubled.
The ETs were puzzled by Bill’s intense fear during his encounters and were also surprised that he was unable to remember them consciously.
The onboard experiences continued through adolescence and adulthood. There were three types of encounters: a long examination, a short examination and informational sessions during which Bill was given volumes of information. Finally, after one informational session, Bill finally grasped the lessons and learned the answer to why he was being taken. It was an answer which both amazed and shocked him. Apparently the ETs were interested in his emotions and in his ability to sense and feel things, and wanted to use the information to assist in their attempts to teach other people.
While Bill’s early encounters were very frightening, he ultimately began to feel a closeness to the grays, like they were his second family. At the same time, however, he felt a sense of violation and was frightened about the approaching date when he was supposed to go live with them on a permanent basis. Meanwhile, Bill’s encounters continued.
In 2006, Bill and Peggy (alone with their hypnotherapist Nadine Wheeler) wrote the book, “The Black Triangle Abduction,” about their 1996 encounter and Bill’s lifelong experiences with extraterrestrials.
At the end of this video, you can listen to a firsthand interview where Bill Foster shares his experience in his own words.
A meteorite that crashed through the roof of a home in New Jersey has given scientists new clues about the origins of life. Researchers found rare amino acids and evidence that the space rock once interacted with ancient salt water. The discovery could improve our understanding of how organic compounds reached the early Earth.
In 1992, counterintelligence officer Douglas Mutschler claimed that he and nearly forty soldiers watched an Alaska news report describing a pyramid-shaped structure buried beneath the state. When he later contacted the station, management allegedly denied that the broadcast had ever aired, while an employee reportedly told him that unidentified men had confiscated the footage.
