Political philosophy and propaganda

Recently there have been some posts concerning topics that can be considered politically volatile. So long as everyone is respectful, we lean toward NOT removing the content, so long as it's not attempted propaganda or linking to propaganda sources.

So to be clear, our current position is:

  • Promoting propaganda or linking to propaganda sources will be dealt with FIRMLY and immediately with removals and bans.
  • But we will REFRAIN from automatically removing a post simply because it's controversial or deals with political subject matter.

We will continue to adjust these standards in the future if any concerning patterns emerge with respect to propaganda or over-focus on political topics. But for now, just play nice and try to use your words and votes to communicate with people you disagree with, rather than reports. As long as the discussion is in good faith, everyone has a chance to learn and grow.

We'll monitor the situation to make sure things stay chill and legitimate.

There is a real to reality but humans have strayed from it and built there own thought paradigms for how we interpret what we sense moment to moment and it's our greatest evolutionary strength.

Complex life has this ability to build thoughts off of our senses that we feel as consciousness. Because moments in time are never stable we lose the reality of every moment to the new reality of the current moment. The interesting thing to think about is our reality of only being able to experience time sequentially gives us an extraordinary evolutionary advantage that doesn't feel extraordinary from inside it but absolutely is. Intelligence in intelligent life is simply an abstract measurement of how that life affects physical reality outside of itself.

I'm talking about reality from a true physical perspective then a mental perspective. As in, its the nature of space-time to change in and/or over time. Everything in motion based on the prior moments. As thinking life our evolution begot a sort of house of cards that feels like consciousness over time. At its core, we react to the stimuli of the physical reality of the past as perceived by our consciousness (think biological algorithm) in a chain reaction of chemistry and biology that we now know spans countless molecules inside the body. But all of our reactions are based on something that doesn't truly exist now as it was then. That's why we need our un-real paradigms. They're the foundations to capturing the past to react to the future.

Humans take this moment to moment consciousness to another level because we steer our own paradigms of reality out of our card houses of sense. Through socialization and shared mental realities we, in a very real way, get to see what we want to see. Then we use that to effect and affect our shared physical reality. And that, in a macro sort of way, gives humanity an evolutionary advantage that is almost magical. We literally change physical reality based on thought paradigms that themselves aren't real. We pull those thoughts into reality and make physical reality out of them though those thoughts aren't real and never really existed in physical reality. It's literal magic though we have all sorts of abstract paradigms to try and explain the 5 w's. And it all derives from the sequential nature of our consciousness's contact with reality.

How's that for a coffee sipping deep dive into a runaway thought I was having. I put this in this community because it's very abstract. I do realize it's a bit hard to conceptualize exactly what I mean. I wanted to see if peeps can actually follow and if so, expand on my thoughts and put it into one of the more serious communities for more exposure to good converse.

Hypocrisy

People say that - We should expect reciprocation in relationships and make the required efforts according to the actions of the other person.

I'm not like that.

To counter this......

People say that - It is not necessary to wait for the other person to do something for you if you truly respect your bond with them. Instead, be the one who provides without needing anything back-as an act of pure devotion and love that you do share with the other person in a relation.

I'm not like that as well.

Something I would do while making relations is selecting one of these ideologies in that particular instant and selecting the other in another situation.

Does that make me a hypocrite?

Philosophy gave us this term "hypocrisy"- "But I will just call it human nature of being considerate and selective of their actions they want to perform according to the factors that they do care".

I don't know about "hypocrite" but stating that "I am not like that" for both ideologies at first and then admitting to use either of these ideologies......-This might make me look "Spineless"

Words and definitions are mental arbitrary divisions of the world. The world can be seen as unified or distinct as desired because both are just part of conceptual mapping. The act of differentiation itself is perhaps a fundamental part of mind

Intelligence will become a commodity

At some point, AI will develop a new class of verification techniques that allows humans without technical knowledge to verify the work of AI agents as though it were verified through human intelligence. This will allow human beings to do work that would have been considered impossible years ago.

A major part of intelligence is our cognitive scaffolding

A major part of intelligence is our cognitive scaffolding. We have computational power and memory on one end and on the other end we have our cognitive scaffolding and by that I mean the process through which we organize our thinking and filter, process and create information. This thing can be learned, and there's an optimal architecture that maximizes our cognitive throughput.

polititians talk about the trickle-down effect.
The richer the wealthy become, the richer the poor eventually become.
But we should talk about the draining-up effect:
The poorer people become, the poorer the wealthy eventually become.

What if you could realizing reality as it really is, and begin to understand and learn how to be the architect of what’s experienced, all just by drifting along a stream of consciousness that belongs to a man who’s experiencing that exact realization.

Well, this is the story about that guy. Give it a go, you really should, because if you really could, you would, right?

Once upon a time, this exact moment to be precise, there’s a man thinking to himself;

I need to reach the realization of how to make the decision before it’s too late. But how. Heart says go for it, and head says don’t. I have to think of a way…

Wait. I’m thinking right now, about my thinking, trying to find the answer to if I should either trust that thinking or go against it, by using thought, thinking about it. Trippy, it’s making me feel dizzy. I feel confused, thought-vibrations are so loud.

They’re full of reasons, rules and rehearsals. But also protective, trying to convince me to be smart, not risking anything. Play it safe.

But underneath that noise, deep below the endless waves of thought, another form of vibration resonates.

In fact, now only by thinking of it, I can almost feel the envy of thought. I really do feel it. These vibrations are of a kind that doesn’t argue, and they doesn’t make any noise. They’re simply just there. A knowing that doesn’t explain itself, other than by the presence of feeling. And in that feeling I understand more, than what words could ever tell. Without even knowing how. I’m just aware of it.

Everybody talks about the battle between head and heart, when really, it’s all just battles of mind. One voice built from fear, the other from truth.

My presence is somewhere between the two, thinking I’m trying decide what to do, when deep down I already know, that truth lives in the place I keep trying to silence with the voice built from fear.

We’re all delusional, because when it comes to it, truth is not the answer either. The answer is in the courage to listen, and act on it.

By acknowledging both sides as one while adding awareness to the equation by simply being aware of being aware, I see the whole. I see reality as it is. Through endless of perspectives, by simply looking through one. Being the one. Damn. Here I am, laying on my sofa, experiencing how this altered state of awareness changes my state of mind as I speak. It feels like reality is slowing down.

People talk about “mind, body, and soul” as if they were three separate parts of a human being. But there is no separation, one cannot be without the others. They are expressions of one and the same awareness, one and the same reality. The mind thinks, the body acts, and the soul just is, there, everywhere, as conscious awareness. The whole is the experienced reality.

Damn, am I really going somewhere with this. It sure feels like it. But it’s maybe more correct to say I’m going nowhere with this, but still, with the same meaning. Going where I want to go.

By raising awareness of the whole, I’m beginning to understand the whole. I’m starting to see reality, and understand what is seen. There is a Reality, beyond all of mind’s interpretations of it. By understanding this I realize I am nothing, and by being nothing, I’m everything.

Woah.

Now I realize that trying to achieve Self-actualization without understanding the whole, would forever be about chasing illusion. I see that now. When awareness is trapped in the dimension of thought I’m under the spell of what those thoughts tell me. I’ve been living with the illusion of being the mind, identifying myself with whatever the thoughts says about me, without even being aware I’m doing it.

Now that I am aware, it’s clear that most of my thoughts are just repeating patterns spiraling around in there. Thoughts coming and going as clouds passing by. Patterns formed through years. The ego is unconscious in itself, and runs on autopilot as soon as I’m not actively present. The ego then behaves as it is pre- programmed to behave. Thinking thoughts I identify with. Thoughts from the past that explains reality by filtering it through a filter of how it once was. Not seeing it as it really is.

So even if the shape of thought may change with every turn of the pattern, every loop of thought is recognizable as part of one bigger pattern of similar thoughts.

What is mind. It’s the place where the ego lives, an obsessive-compulsive thinker, being a thought-construction itself. The ego is the mental image of who I think I am, when really, it’s just patterns of the past, spiraling further away from truth, deeper into illusion.

While my attention is caught in these spirals I can’t see the whole, and by that I experience reality more or less from a subconscious level of awareness.

I am mind, body, and soul. The whole. Understanding the whole is what’s important.

I need to follow the heart, explore the feeling, while guarding the mind. Being brave, but most importantly be aware of being aware. It’s through that perspective opportunity opens up to intentionally shape the mind.

Because by being part of reality, mind is bound to the nature of reality, which is constant change and transformation. I must be this transformation, by being the whole. In other words being the current experience, as a whole.

I’m really standing by the gate of truth, where illusion ends and truth begins. It’s time to put it into practice. Train the body, sharpen the mind, while operating the whole from the stillness beyond.

So to summarize the whole: I am not what you think I am. I am not what I think I am. I am that - I am.

From that perspective, I gain the freedom to be as I truly want to be, and there’s enough space to experience reality as it really is, through all parts of the whole. I really don’t have to be afraid of change, fuck that, I am it.

I’m realizing reality.

I feel it now.

This really is the beginning - of everything.

Without metacognition, AI will never be as creative as a human being

Without metacognition, AI will never be as creative as a human being. Metacognition is essential to control every facet of how we organize our thinking, as well as how we filter, process, and create information. This isn't possible without a revolutionary reasoning model that has a flexible and modular architecture to process semantics through a rigorous, logical, and mathematical framework.

Human literature is garbage

If we can objectively quantify and assess the intrinsic value of an idea, the theoretical peak of human literature ceases to be a mystery and becomes entirely predictable. Furthermore, this ultimate creative pinnacle remains vastly superior to anything humanity has ever produced.

If enough people blindly reject a truth simply because it sounds ridiculous, their complacency gives it the room to become reality. In fact, it will become reality, because it creates blind spot that can be used by those who wield power. This is why most conspiracy theories are somewhat true.

It’s been a long time since I’ve had any weed

I used to do it often. I enjoyed how it caused my train of thought go on for so long. It felt like a train cruising down a track over open plains, and when I looked out upon the journey of my thought it naturally adopted its environment within itself and kept on cruising. But eventually I got scared of being on trapped on the track without the ability to stop. Sometimes I’d try to stop but the train would keep on cruising. It then reached a point where I'd inevitably get anxious the track I was on was one very long never-ending number, constantly changing and flickering at a speed so fast I couldn’t identify the individual digits. More than anything else I feared the more I took this train the more I’d get used to its speed and the more I’d get used to its speed the greater the probability I’d discover something precise about the sequence of digits... so I stopped doing weed and started to drink. No thought ever goes on too long with booze for on its influence the train’s got frequent stops.

Recently I watched Arnold Zuboff on the Closer to Truth youtube explain an argument for the inevitability of Ⓨⓞⓤⓡ Ⓕⓘⓡⓢⓣ-Ⓟⓔⓡⓢⓞⓝ Ⓔⓧⓟⓔⓡⓘⓔⓝⓒⓔ, using for his tools only an imaginary hotel with countless quadrillion rooms and an equal number of drugged up sleeping guests, one per room. He begins by explaining that one of two games are about to be played. In one of the games, all the guests are given an antidote to awake from their slumber. In the other, only one guest is given the antidote. You are then invited to pick a number between 1 and a few billion-quadrillion. After doing so, you are then told the guest in that hotel room number is awake. With this information, what conclusion will you draw about the game that was played? Probabilistically, Zuboff argues, you are compelled to conclude the game was played where everyone was given the antidote, the alternative being far too improbable, something akin to the probability of a particular sequence of events occurring in a specific order over 13 billion years, say, from the beginning of the universe to the birth of the Earth to your great-great-great grandparents fucking to the creation of the eggs and the sperm that became the eggs and the sperm of your parents with their intimate touches one day leading to the only possible release that could eventually become Ⓨⓞⓤⓡ Ⓕⓘⓡⓢⓣ-Ⓟⓔⓡⓢⓞⓝ Ⓔⓧⓟⓔⓡⓘⓔⓝⓒⓔ. I cannot deny I find a fairness to this point, although, earlier this week I was blasting electric chords in my ears that Roy Montgomery from New Zealand recorded 30 years before I stood watching the sun's rays flicker bejeweled reflections on the dirty gray waters of Vancouver’s Fraser River as clouds stood overcast listless, the same rays that less than ten minutes ago were still a part of the outermost layer of the sun, having flown 150 million kilometers before refracting on the Earth’s atmosphere before refracting through the clouds before refracting at last on the surface of the watery filth in front of my eyes, and there as I stood with Zuboff’s argument in my mind I inherited the feeling that any true seamless infinity would require both games to be played.

I cannot deny improbable numbers provide me great comfort. How wonderful it is when there’s a long line of trailing zeroes providing promise of a different digit popping up later down the line. Sometimes I wonder if death is a temporary series of trailing zeros, and once the numbers reach a black hole's horizon the earlier numbers reappear in a way such that those within the singularity have no idea the numbers existed earlier before a repetition of zeroes of in between time. Where does a decimal sit in this world, and on which side of the decimal are we sitting on now? These are the kind of questions from which I find comfort in not knowing the answers. The vastness of my unknowing leaves room for imagination, and its somewhere within that space I imagine my grandpa had in mind when he told me he'll see me again a long, long, long time from now a few days before he died.

Philosophy is not solved

The notion that philosophy is a closed book is profoundly naive. In fact, the opposite can be said, as there is an infinite amount of significant knowledge that has yet to be formalized into writing. I am not talking about minor, trivial knowledge in isolated domains that amounts to nothing more than pedantic scholasticism, but true unarticulated thought introducing core concepts about reality and existence. The fact that this is true should be obvious to anyone who has a modicum of intellectual curiosity.

Written thought is primitive

The fact that human literature is so uncreative stems partly from the inherent limitations of written language. Because written thought is linear, it is poorly suited for capturing complex recursive objects that populate my rich imagination. Attempting to describe these complex objects results in dense, unwieldy prose that quickly overwhelms human intelligence and flattens them into an unintelligible mess. This is why even if I were to attempt to articulate them, I must simplify these concepts until they are mere flattened abstractions of their original incarnations.

Our obsession with those rubber spike "puffer balls" might be a millions-of-years-old evolutionary reflex from when our ancestors were fish.

Think about it: a puffer ball looks and moves exactly like a magnified piece of micro-zooplankton (like a copepod nauplius). For early aquatic life, that specific shape and wiggly vibration was the ultimate "food trigger."
When we can't stop playing with them, stretching them, or even putting them on our heads as crazy neon wigs, we aren’t just playing with a cheap stress toy. We are literally hacking our ancient, prehistoric visual and tactile instincts. Our inner Devonian fish sees the ultimate juicy prey magnified to human scale, and our brain just floods us with dopamine.

What if the big bang happens constantly throughout the universe

What if the big bang happens when a certain amount of matter is condensed into a single point in space which creates an exotic matter that

A) causes extreme time dilation due to extreme mass
B) a massive explosion that hurls matter in every direction
C) due to the time dilation and the outward directionality of the explosion, resets time effectively back to the start of the universe - an endless loop

What if space was infinite and it happens in multiple different areas all the time (just EXTREMELY far apart), which is like our idea of the multiverse

I had a dream that I had developed male pattern baldness even though I don't and have a full head of hair.

In the dream I was desperately trying to get some Rogaine to try and fix it and stop the balding process. I was also very sad in the dream that I was balding. It's a very strange dream because I don't have male pattern baldness. When I woke up, I actually went and checked my hair in the bathroom just to be sure it was a dream. And I was so relieved. What could this mean?
