i haven’t turned on steam or even tried buying flight simulator the past week, i changed my password for both steam and paypal, what else should i do, i didn’t get any email that someone logged in on my account so it’s really confusing

2 of my accounts have been hcked in the same day the past week and i changed my password to all of them and their all different

I randomly ran into this issue as of the date of this post. Clearing the cache was the obvious go to and was still getting the error, there is a setting in the ''download" section in the steam settings called, "game file transfer over local network", turning this setting off fixed the "content servers unreachable', and "no internet connection" errors.

Just a heads up to anyone that may use the "backup game files" feature of Steam; do NOT backup games like R.E.P.O.

I got that reminder yesterday when I was backing up some games. Sense the game name has dots/periods in it's name/at the end of the name, at least [ex: R.E.P.O.]; it will create an empty folder that you will never be able to delete.

This by no mean R.E.P.O.s fault -- it's a Steam issue. But, I got "reminded" of it the other day and felt I should post here - will be posting to Steam support as well; doubt anything will be done any time soon though.

I just signed up for the steam machine list and there's the 528, 1TB, and 2TB versions.
I went to steam to look at games to estimate how big I need. I can't find on there how much space each game takes up?

Where do I find that?

everytime I try to open the game it shows me this. does anybody know how to fix this?

Just wanted to ask what other's opinions were of the steam forums. Not the games, just the forums portion of steam.

On episode 1 - theres a prompt to move your mouse quickly back and forth to sharpen her sword. For whatever reason, the game does not recognize I'm doing that. Can someone assist or provide guidance?

I know, there exists Depot downloader, but it is not easy to use for people who are not that into technical stuff and just wanna feel some nostalgia from an old version of their favorite game lol.

so if i asked someone in the states or any other place if they gifted it to me would that work at all?

like some one sent me the game as a gift would that still be region locked
im asking this because i bout a key from game billet and there it stated that i can use this and it can be activated but it didnt work and steam would show me the msg in the image so would smth like this happen if some one sent me the game as a gift?

Hello! I had gotten a new, modern laptop for my birthday not too long ago and figured I’d get steam as it should be powerful enough to handle it. However, I’m not the technically savvy guy and I didn’t want to screw anything up by downloading it to the inappropriate folder, so I figured I’d come here and ask.

I’ve tried a plethora of fixes. Anytime I update or download a game, it takes ages. My download speed is always in the 200 or 300s (mbps), so my internet isn’t an issue. But the update consistently drops to 0 mbps.

For instance, this 1.3 gb update for Batman Legacy has been downloading for half an hour and is at 35%, with an hour left on the update. My other launchers don’t have this issue… any help is greatly appreciated, more than happy to answer questions to help understand my situation.

Edit: I should mention that I’m not the most well-versed in tech. Apologies if I’m missing crucial info for this.

A friend of mine bought and downloaded crimson desert and I want to give it a shot (I have the game in my library but my internet sucks), he gave me the game today, I created a steam library in my other drive as my default one was full, and put the game in the common folder

However, steam didn't detect the game, moreover when I tried installing it, it started downloading, how can I have it detected?

I had a problem where I often couldn’t join multiplayer games or friends’ lobbies, but other people could still join my friend without any issues.

After testing, I found out the issue was related to NAT type on my network.

Problem

• Symmetric NAT on Huawei router
• Steam P2P games like Teardown not connecting properly
• Random ability to join games, very inconsistent
• Others could join the host, but I couldn’t reliably connect

What fixed it for me

In my case I had Symmetric NAT on a Huawei router, which caused issues with Steam P2P games (Teardown in my case).

Steps I took:

1 Checked NAT type in router (was Symmetric NAT)

2 Changed network/IPv4 settings in router (Huawei settings / ISP configuration

(sometimes if you dont have IPv4 enabled the net setings won't show up)

3 After the change, NAT type became Asymmetric

4 Restarted router and Steam

I want my steam profile to be transparent, i looked on tutorials on how and it showed me this dying light 2 transparent profile background. However on almost every video it is said that you have to spend 10.000 points. But later on i saw on an old reddit post that you actually dont have to spend 10.000 points and can just buy the profile background? If its true how to make this and how does it work with other profile backgrounds non related to dying light 2?

Hi guys, today i just wanted to download Marvel Rivals, but the download is extremely painful (2-4 mb/s download). I'm on a HDD with 30 "Mbps" wifi. The downloading time shows 6 hours. My ISP is JIO, and I'm an indian (Delhi), so i have set the location to india-delhi in steam download settings. Is there any free, legit way to speed up the process

TL;DR: Go to your Steam In-Game Browser, enter the URL about:extensions, and disable Dark Reader. Restart your game, and the overlay will be transparent again.

I just spend ~20 minutes diagnosing why my Steam Overlay was opaque, and the only suggestion I found anywhere online was the skin thing- I hadn't been using skins at all.
I was stuck on this, even about to make a post here, until I remembered I installed Dark Reader to Steam's built in web browser. I wondered if the Overlay was running in Chromium too, so I went in, disabled dark reader, restarted, and the overlay was transparent again.

If anyone knows how to detect the "website" that the Steam Overlay runs on so I could add it as an exception to Dark Reader, I would very much appreciate that.

Steam account region

Hi my steam account region was Argentina now I live in Turkey and I want to change my accounts region but it says that I have to purchase something in that regional in order to work but I can't buy anything from the store I used MasterCard and visa card and doesn't work so I bought a gift card and I add it to my steam wallet and when I want to purchase something I put my current address is Turkey and when I continue payment my steam wallet option doesn't show in the payment methods but when I switch my current location as on jettena the steam wallet shows up can you guys help please

Hi, While I followed the guide for account recovery, steam has been asking me for my card details. The issue is that I do not use the card I used in 2024, rather, my region has a payment method called UPI, which I have been using since 2025. I have all the email receipts of my purchases showing the email I received on and my account name, screenshots of payments and UPI payments reference IDs but I have been unable to get steam to accept my UPI payments reference IDs even though they accept UPI payments as a mode of purchase.

I actually have 2 cards on the account holder name but am worried if I give the wrong card details I will be locked out of my account permanently. Can anyone provide any suggestions on what to do ?
