This resolution was supposed to be introduced at our last Operations Committee meeting, but was removed from the agenda the day of the meeting. It is on our Winnebago County Bord agenda for tonight (which I’m hoping is in error as we have not voted on or discussed this item). I am AGAINST this referendum.

This is an inflammatory topic that marginalizes and disenfranchises the minority community over voter fraud that simply isn’t there. This is a non binding resolution designed to draw more from the right to the polls on an attempt to inflate their voter turnout. People aren’t pawns, this is a very real topic with very real consequences-placing this inflammatory rhetoric on our ballots will further divide and not unify. I will be voting against this, and encourage people to reach out to your county board member and let them know your position. The list of members can be found here:

It was around 1:30 or 2 in the afternoon. I was working on the south side of rockford and heard a lound noise and thought it was thunder at first. I saw what looked like a f22 raptor pop out of the clouds and another one followed behind it. About 20 mins later I heard it again but couldn't make a visual this time. I imagine they are just doing routine drills?

To be clear this a good problem to have. I recently inherited a 2020 Chevy 3500 Duramax diesel from my father after his passing. He rarely used the truck (has less than 5k miles). Unfortunately it had been sitting for more than a year with a half tank of diesel. When I now go to drive it I’m getting an emissions warning and the truck limits my speed to 40mph. I think I’ve got the issue figured out but I want to bring it in for professional service before selling. It also has a recall from a few years ago he never had fixed.

Thoughts on which Chevrolet dealership in northern Illinois to go to? I’m not sure about Bachrodt’s. He bought this from Alan Browne in Genoa.

Since I don't know enough people around here to make a team of my own, I was wondering if there is anybody out there looking for an extra player. What events or things to do in Rockford are there for a single guy? I look thru the gorockford.com site for events. Occasionally read the events on the register star or Rock River current. None seem to be centered on the older crowd and/or geared towards meeting people in my age group. For both friendships and possible relationships.

I dont do the bar scene. What else is there? How to find those things that are going on?

This is probably the end of the road for Beef A Roo becoming a multi-state operation, but hopefully they can bring this Rockford staple back to its former glory as a local quick service option. Say what you want about it (especially as it stands now), but Rockford just wouldn't be the same without it.

I want to shop local. I love books. I see books a lot of the time that I want to read, that, yeah, sure, I could order off of Amazon and get it shipped to my house, but I miss book stores.

Is there anywhere local I can go, pay for a book, get it shipped to the store, and then go pick it up?

I know there are places I can order through, but it’s the same ship to the house situation. I guess, I just want local, and a reason to go out.

I love books, I love browsing books, and I’d love it if there were somewhere I could get comfortable being a regular.

I got out of court earlier today long story short, can’t stay where I’m at right now due to a stray animal attacking me I can’t stay with couple of my friends due to them having animals i don’t know if any other of my friends would be able to due to me not being able to find a job the only thing I can think of is going over to the homeless shelter

I have yet to see any updates, construction progress, or even any renderings yet for a project allegedly opening next year.
